Don't feel discouraged, you are not at fault for posting somebody else's dubious inventions and it's great community service to let us know what others are saying about subjects we are also familiar with. Your time is used very well, rest assured.

I understand your sarcasm but time wise depending on traffic train option may turn out to be the same like taxi. This comes from somebody who just recently suffered 70 minutes crossing of Saphan Taksin bridge by bus, taxi would be the same, in meantime at least 14 BTS trains passed by in the same direction !

GQ is trying to spoil an excellent Thai food with too much wax in it's lyrics. I doubt very much we see may construction workers with their 300 /day salary feeding in food court and business tycoon lining up to get his Pad Thai will be scarcer even more.

I'm not picking up on Americans , OP was about owning guns legally , not necessarily case when gun crime is considered. But is seems to me that Americans love to be proud owners of legal guns more than other nations.

Somewhat dry rainy season - Thailand trip of Sept 2017

We all are using what suits us the best. Not necessary what one does somebody else follows and there's no right or wrong. Sometimes even person changes his approach how to extract more fun . There are those who visit bar or massage place only once every trip ( my trips 1.2.3.5.6.7.8.)and those who park themselves in their favorite places and get all their fun from there ( my trip 13 ). Budgetary discipline you are talking about is only to be commended and admired as there's only that much money we can spent. But like with every discipline it's only step from mental terror we may inflict on ourselves. No favorite meal today because they raised price from 190 to 205 and 200 is my budget, no museum visited today because on Tuesday they have 50 % off admission ( and related hordes of economizing visitors ), getting almost heart attack being close to missing flight because we opted to bus instead taxi etc. Good that you don't regret and move on. I learned my lessons that it not always pays. In my younger years I did not visit Uffizzi Gallery in Florence because admission was to steep for me , it took 20 years for another chance to be in Florence again , just for a day and horror of horrors, due to technical issues Gallery was closed that day. so wound is still bleeding. On Easter Island I saw sculpture in wood , true piece of art but at 400 $ it seemed excessively priced so I passed by opting for 10 times cheaper crude one. When came to my senses and returned next day shop lady waved me away , it was sold apparently soon after I left , I still hate myself for that. I did not win lottery and did not squander my inheritance, I just found the way of financing certain indulgences by cutting on other ones. There are readers who may consider tips I pay excessive but they readily discuss advantages of staying in Crowne Plaza over Dusit Thani , seek feedback on the best restaurants or roof top beer bars and consider taking bus to Pattaya or train to Swampy waste of time. And why not , if that is what rocks their boat as much as mine is rocked by taking 5 baht train from DMK to Bangkok or managing to get to Foodland Patpong before 9 a.m. to get an advantage of having breakfast for 62 instead of 85 baht. And at end of day as my trip reported above attests there are always cheaper boys, hey only four 4000 LT's as opposite to five 2000 ones -
Last Dec arrivving from Cambodia to DMK I took train , 5 baht and then MRT fro Halampong to Silom , 18 baht

just out of curiosity, are all those guys Americans or more mixed bunch ? Desire to own a gun seem to be very American to me.

enjoy your trip and don't forget about us here

that is all bullshit, what will be next? mountains of used condoms on streets contributing to the traffic gridlock by narrowing them ?

You guys are spoiling me. I wouldn't mind some critical voices / too long , to brief , too detailed, not detailed enough, lacking pictures and NO GRAPHICS, what the hell you guys were doing there and so on / We hope you will keep you word but I need to warn you. It's quite time consuming , particularly if you are typing with 1 or 2 fingers only like me. -

that the lesson I learned over years, one has always choice and must live with consequences. Earlier I was cautious to economize and keen to stick to so called 'fair rates'. Than after few experiences like yours - boy I liked disappeared from the scene depriving me forever a chance to embrace him now I rather employ " boy first, money second" approach. Doesn't always work as I wish but by grace of God worked perfectly this trip. If I chickened out and passed offing Tam, #60 from Boy66 I know I'd be spitting at myself in the mirror every morning when I shave. When I travel I use the same approach in respect of tours and souvenirs, If I want go somewhere I pay , if I see something I like I may bargain but I will buy it. Some genius invented line of credit, why not to use it, LOL -

I also regret we did not meet due to un-coordinated timing, it was more of that , one of our members left Pattaya on the day I arrived there, another one arrived in Thailand in the evening before my morning departure next day 1. you may be correct but apparently blue pill still works only if one feels a little bit heat, no? 2. I knew about Tawan from my first trip on. After all , Tomahwak, then bar across the soi was one of firsts I visited in BKK but wherever I got my feedback from then , it was less than favorable so I did not ventured inside Tawan and it was the same trip after trip , massage places , mainly Aqua Spa and Arena were my hunting grounds and whatever my feeds were from it was always about Tawan boys being lazy, greedy and the like. Only when I discovered this forum I read here some credible accolades, reinforced by reading bangkokbois blog by the late Rush. So finally on trip # 9 I dragged Dreamboys boy with me to see the show and only at end of my next trip , it was 10th , on the last night I braved to off boy Boy #15 and become fan of Tawan instantly. By trip #13 I was on monodiet, all LT offs on that trip bar just one were all Tawan men. That's the story of love coming late in life, LOL But there some contractions, perhaps due to too much of good thing for both boys and me , in Dec 2016 despite of being in Thailand twice I went there only once. Now with cooler head I enjoy bar again and while spoiling boys with compensation they repay me with very well pretended affection , truly win-win situation for now with rosy glasses discarded. -
thank you for a good laugh, " keyboard wankers " , that's funny If everything else fails there's still an option of moving conversation to a bar table and seeing boy eye to eye and feeling him knee to knee
-
you are right, all is included in price of participation, still not a bad kind of gambling
-
welcome to the forum and let us know from time to time how you are doing bar/ boy wise

every bit helps to reduce overpopulation and one day, not too soon, we will chip in

thank you reader, I read your assessment with great pleasure , not that I need boost to my self-esteem but never hurts to be a bit overestimated. I don't think I arrived with any agenda other than having fun, other than booking accommodation I plan very little before a trip. I like things just happen. I liked my time in Pattaya in December so decided to stay longer and extension was owed to fun I had there. I may try such approach in the future. I was hoping Bank will be working at BBB but his bar friends picked up the slack nicely. You are correct with 4000 tips going to sought after boys, in fact careful readers of my previous reports will find them mentioned and in 2 cases offed previously so I did know very well what I'm up to. I'm nobody to comment other's tipping practices but only boys themselves can assess us when comes to generosity but definitely there are those who are willing to go home empty handed instead to accept any compensation. Longer in business they are and unfortunately to my pocket those are boys I'm chasing, better they become in assessing what they can and can't pull from their clients. As for straight boys my well published theory is they know they need to try better to compensate for lack of lust but at end of day I have serious doubts about how straight they really are, often hard before I even touch them. No , soi 6 other than Tawan was never really my hunting ground but had 2 offs from Super A before. This trip surprisingly quite a few boys there were offing material for me. I like to watch world go by at soi Twilight but no so much soi 4 as I generally don't like to waste time sitting in bars and soi twilight for me is more business oriented. Now with Jupiter I may look at soi 4 more kindly. I was not trying to set any bar for anybody, just to let world know how one guy is spending his vacation / and a money / in Thailand. We all know better how we like our vacation but at times some inspiration may help. If I helped somebody to get some ideas for their next trip , all the better. If not this forum I 'd never put my foot on Tawan and Pattaya nor stay in Raya and Nantra Silom so I owe you guys something. -

I treat them with respect for shocking reason, almost universally I simply like them. Since I prefer long time I'm trying to make sure they will be happy, It's why I ask them if they are hungry , offer them drinks, buy them something at 7/11 if I sense they like it but don't have audacity to ask and treat them to a breakfast in the morning if they wish. I doubt they are treated badly by many clients, they are on their territory and it would be easy for them to organize retaliatory action against mistreating client. Often I ask them about problematic clients and they rarely complain. Truth is since I deal with more mature men they are not that easy to abuse anyways but I sense that even twinks can easy find defenders. It's small world of boys and punters . I also prefer BTS to MRT because it's elevated and I can see my beloved Bangkok from above. Luggage those days when even back packs have wheels is no problem but I travel light anyways I do agree, if abuse would be problem , you of all people with your contacts in soi Twilight had been complained to often. Bad apples do exist and it pays not to be too rosy glassed but my assessment is no more than 3% of my offs in the past tuned to be assholes to some degree, 10 times more were absolutely fantastic and rest between Ok and gem. Only once I was witness of commotion between boy and customer and once it happened in my own room. -
I don't mind it at all but hotels policy may prohibit staff from visiting guests in their rooms.

I can recommend, easy to get to and less mainstream sightseeing than all those crowds in ' must-see' places like Wat Arun or soi 4. -

it was not dearedevil at all, Oud is proud owner of his new possession and was driving with dignity of somebody approaching retirement rather than on one wheel only. -

nothing planned right now other than I will return in the unknown future as soon as I will be able to financially / you know , all those tips/ I will be happy to meet you there as well, different tastes are no problem, we won't be eating from the same plate and bar hopping with somebody of different taste in boys is as interesting as with those with whom I share the same . I don't have any prejudices, can look at , sit with and stuff 100 into any boy briefs, just only some are offing material for me. -
I agree with Christian here, it was in his own room, if wallet is in the pocket temptation is sufficiently removed, why somebody would be interested in his trousers without Christian inside them ? Never heard about this but if that's a case I hope never to stay in such a creepy place , spying on own guests. Those must be those places charging equivalent of generous 2 times long time tips or more per night.

Somewhat dry rainy season - Thailand trip of Sept 2017

Final impressions All of my trips so far were either May/Jun or Nov/Dec so I decided on September one out of curiosity and sense of adventure – how it is in supposedly rainy and low season. I must say an experiment failed. While it was some rain , few times very heavy, Pattaya part, whole 7 days was sunny and pretty mild temperature wise. Rain which I suffered in Bangkok was always somewhat expected with clouds gathering so gave a chance to look for shelter and organizing time around disruption. Night when soi 6 was under water was actually quite exciting although it helped to be prepared with proper i.e. plastic sandals ( no not cheap one, I think I paid 50 $ at home . So in short , nothing to be afraid but having an umbrella and extra change of shoes and shirts will help. Since I always do my laundry , humid in the air made drying slow process. It was not as hot as I expected which was good news for me since I hate the heat. As for low season , boys were complaining but really when they don’t ? It was some difference comparing to say last December but not dramatic one . Bars usually crowded ( Jupiter, Tawan , BBB ) had good crowds. The same goes about number of boys in bars. Fame had it they may be heading home but they were working in good numbers and there was always good selection. Can’t comment on number of offs but at least I did my part. Only time when I saw low season in full swing was Dongtan Beach , almost empty at mid-day but this could be timing / lunch time/ So I definitely can recommend September trip. Most boys I wanted to see were there although two key ones were MIA, Boy from Tawan found another job and Bank from BBB took some time off but this could happen anytime. #42 from Jupiter did not show up and I had great hopes to nail him somehow but finally managed to off #60 Tam from Boy66. It was nice to see M at Senso and James in Arena back as rumors were they left for good when I was there last time. All offs with exception of one from Toy Boys were somewhere between good to excellent and even that twink was far from disaster, just bit less than OK. Nicest surprise was Art from BBB with his massage skills and M from Senso return to the field. Market economy worked perfect this trip , while some reader expressed reservations about my tipping practices there’s no doubt in my mind that quality went up with price paid. I regret Art did not want to avail himself to Long Time and I did not have time to off super handsome Cambodian I spotted at BBB at end of stay in Boyztown. Second time in row I liked Pattaya part a bit better than Bangkok one thank to boys from BBB and Copa massage in main part, not that it was anything wrong with BKK boys. It was great pleasure to meet our members Paulsf, Christian PFC, Williewillie and Aussie_, thank you guys for your time. Christian as always found some interesting , remote yet close to BKK place to initiate day trip. All in all those were fabulous vacations and even Cathay Pacific chipped in with upgrading me on return leg. I always wonder if coming to Thailand just for 1 week is worth trouble, effort and expense considering it takes me roughly 23-25 hours door to door to get there or back. Verdict is YES so who knows , I may try it next time. Thank you for reading those reports , if I bored you with too much or not enough detail send me a bill for a time wasted.
