You are welcome durian. I'm glad your tech issues have resolved. My experience is that sometimes certain applications will not work with a VPN. You may have to disconnect Proton if you discover this and then reconnect once your activity on that app/webpage is complete.

I use a VPN while in Malaysia....specifically Proton. It's free. Try downloading that. Grindr has no issues if I have the VPN turned on.....it doesn't work when i don't.

PV is a beach resort town so I expect anything goes. Many restaurants have an open air section spilling out onto the street. While I do agree tank tops should be worn in the daytime only, I doubt there would be many eyebrows raised to see them on boys at night as well. I feel about the same when I see people wearing shorts in a nice restaurant.....or the dreaded flip flop.

I stayed in Jomtien Beach in January this year for 2 weeks. I was bored after a week. Can't imagine staying there for 2 months. I visited HCMC and Da Nang in March. HCMC was incredibly busy...7 million motorbikes. I absolutely loved Da Nang. Incredible beaches, great food and a few other attractions when beach isn't on the menu for that day. Definitely will go back. Stayed at the DLG...was wonderful and perfect location.

When I was last in Bangkok, I stayed in Silom at the Ibis Styles. Nice hotel, but awful breakfast. I tried to find a decent breakfast outside of the hotel within walking distance but didn't really have much luck. I really liked Au Bon Pain near the Silom Metro stop but that has since closed. Coffee World is good but not everyday. Are there any other decent cafes within walking distance that have similar offerings? thanks!

No doubt the sauna then is quiet too. I haven't seen too much mention of that venue recently. Maybe not looking closely enough.

It would be great to get some current info about the scene in Jakarta....minus the ladyboys/drag queen scene please. 1. VPN required for the apps? 2. Best area of town to stay? 3. Hotel recommendations? 4. Any issues around bringing boys back? 5. Cruising areas of town? thanks to all who contribute.
