Day 5 - And the fun continues part 2 Again, this part of the trip has been reported by Vinapu on his detail report (link). It was very detail that he had to split it to two part, and as it turns out so did I. All 4 of us scan our ticket at the entry and being ushered to the lift. On the journey up, we were served with the feast of the 5 sensory with videos and music filled the whole 6 sides of walls, floor and ceiling, akin to virtual reality of having transported in a transparent lift which I find a very nice touch. We all then brought to the observatory floor, which is a floor with glass walls to have a very comfortable airconditioned area to view bangkok skyline. Vinapu mentioned that we must see the toilet at this level on our way back. This level also have the smaller version of gift shops and cafes. Having a Mahanakhon veteran with us, we made our way straight to the rooftop observation deck, using the stairs, which is also the emergency stairs which can be seen spiralling all the way down. At the rooftop, we all take a while to absorb the feeling of being at the top of a really high building. A very nice selection of musics were played, and there are plenty of people around, but not as crowded as I'd expect. There is a stair-seating in the middle facing one side of the building where people can just seat and lounge and chat but of course thats not what all of us wanted to do. We immediately go towards the glass floor extension deck and watched all the poses people made taking pictures. We need to cover our shoes with the shoes cover before going down and not allowed to bring camera with us, so we take turns to go down. A and me go first to give Z time to summon his courage. Day 5 - And the fun continues part 1 After A left, I continue my ritual of after breakfast nap. One of this trip mission is to check out the ICONSiam Mega shopping complex. Its already opened during my last trip but given that trip was during peak of the peak season and the mall had just opened, I decided to avoid the hassle. So I decided to have lunch at ICONSiam today. I do have a 2.30pm booking with my favorite masseur in Arena so I cant spend too long there, so I just order a grab bike from Raya to Iconsiam and was there is about 15min, minus 70thb including tip. Like many have echoed admiration of their food court, I too agree that their food level, almost all the ground floor are definitely a place to be if you are looking to buy mulitude of varieties of Thai street food, at very reasonable price (most items are in single pax portion at 50thb) and eat in a very comfortable airconditioned space. There are even what we called in malay "pangkin" which is a low raised platforms where u can eat comfortably without chair. Bought myself 3 items as shown in the pic (roti with coconut, mango sitcky rice and a milkshake), good enough to fill my belly until dinner time. There are a lot more street food choices available but that has to be saved for another trip as i cant be too full right before my massage lol. Since im going to Arena next, and i still have time to kill, i decided to go there by the free boat to saphan thaksin. On previous trip, during peak season, the boat stops at a different pier, making it less convenient for me to go by boat so im glad that changes was temporary. Not much queue and managed to catch the first boat that came, and the trip is quite short as well. Took the BTS to Chong Nongsi and walked to Arena, arriving few minutes before my appointment. Vinapu and I proceed to the entrance to buy each of our distinguished guest a ticket. We then went back outside to wait for them. A shows up first, with a long sleeve thin wool/sweater like shirt and jeans, very trendy outfit indeed. Not long after, Z also shows up, apparently after meeting his "friend" who is leaving bangkok today, to say his goodbyes. We both proceed to enter the tower. It is still one of the more memorable night of my trip as well, my first night offing two boys lol. If anything, only my last night tops this night.

Day 4 - The most awaited meeting part 2 From this point onwards, both Vinapu and ggobkk had written their reports which can be read by clicking the respecting link (Vinapu, Ggobkk). When i arrived, i immediately saw ggobkk sitting on the couch in the lobby chatting with another farang, which can only be vinapu. Ggobkk waved at me and i walked towards them, and we started to catch up. We decided to hit Madrid tavern for dinner and agreed to visit Moonlight for tonight entertainment. I did notice one farang that looks above 50 who came in right before the o party start, and he is still in good shape though, coupled with blonde/grey hair, stick out from miles away.
