Im not sure why UK and US needs the gov to make wearing mask mandatory. Here in Malaysia, mask is not mandatory at all but the gov does always recommended it. In one press conference, a reporter did asked our Health director about this and he insist that it will not be made compulsory. Even so, most people wear masks when they are in public or crowded places, during the peak of the infection but nowadays, with local transmission in the single digit mainly in KL area, and zero cases in many area, mask wearing has gone down. One guy gave a theory of how asian were raised by our parent to be obedient to authority and the elderly is one of the reason we heed advice from gov and there is no need to make it compulsory. A friend of mine also said if you dont wear mask when most people do, people will give you the look and stare at you as if you have commited a grave sin lol.

Well, not all scheduled flight will fly too. Many have been cancelling and rescheduling their flight during this covid period, so having plenty of options for customers to choose has its advantage in terms of getting people to buy flight tickets. And they are a lot of people that is still travelling for work, at least few of my coleagues and those i followed their IG did fly very recently. (One goes to mexico transit via japan, another flying from philliphines to malaysia, and one guy flying from indonesia to hong kong). At least two of them shared that their flight have been cancelled and rescheduled too.

No need to say sorry. I am well aware of the intricate issues looming in many asia countries. Although id like to point out malaysia did the exact opposite of thailand during that period. Our currency was floating before the financial crisis 98, but our gov at that time did made few foreign investment mistakes here and there hence were implicated by similar events too. But the gov decided to tie the Ringgit to US at 1 USD = RM 3.8, right up to the 2009 US property bubble crisis, where tieing our currency to US doesnt make sense anymore. But it is much simpler and easier to blame it on one person and many here believed george soros is the culprit lol. Regardless, my initial point still holds, that the stock market and other type of speculative investment are easily manipulated by the rich, so that might be the plausible case in the US now. I might be wrong though.

While i agree they wont return to their pre-covid time, tourist from china and asia are way more dominant that both north america and europe combined. Thats why the gov cant wait to open their borders to chinese tourist first.
