Has anyone bought any of the very cheap items from Temu? They have extraordinarily cheap electronic items OBVIOUSLY copies but do they work? Thanks, but I don't need warnings from people who have never bought from them. I'll start it off by saying I once bought a VERY cheap watch (148 baht) but had to buy more for minimum order so I bought razor blades to bring the order to 180 ish Baht. The watch is excellent but the blades were rubbish. I am interested in a cheap reserve phone to keep for emergencies.

Oh and the 'elders card'. Again googling "MRT' Elders card. Yes, it's true that foreign seniors (and other foreign travelers) are no longer eligible for discounted MRT fares in Bangkok. The MRT has discontinued the elder card and other discount cards for non-Thai citizens. This means that seniors, students, and children are no longer entitled to discounts. The MRT now requires all passengers to pay the full fare, regardless of age or nationality.

Can't recall where i found it. Probably by googling "Rabbit Card Restrictions' or similar. You used you 'elder card' on the subway BUT did it only charge you 50% this time or full fare? Last year sometime I tried to top up my BTS card and the cashier said "50 baht extra for new card". She explained that cards only last 7 years (I think). Didn't have to show my passport.

I knew that the subway had withdrawn 'ELDER' cards (half price fares) but hadn't realised that Sky Train Rabbit Cards had age restrictions.

Me too. From an old habit, years ago, in Amsterdam. A friend owned a busy bar and nightly he'd send me around the other bars to count how many customers they had. If I reported back that others had more, I'd get a sulky frown -- if however, I reported back that he was far the busiest, I'd get a free drink! As you can imagine, he was ALWAYS the busiest.😂

Keith, In Thailand, red license plates are temporary, issued to new car dealerships for vehicles awaiting permanent registration. They indicate that the vehicle is not yet fully registered and is intended for limited use,

It can't be much fun for residents living in apartment blocks when holidaymakers occupy rooms for a few days holiday which might involve late night room and corridor parties. Some nations are worse than others for this.
