Recently I read Bangkok 8, a novel by John Burdett. It was the third time I have read the novel and I liked it just as much as on the first or second read. It gives a view of Bangkok and nightlife that intrigues me. Yesterday I read The Last Six Million Seconds, also by Burdett. This one is about the weeks leading up to the transfer of Hong Kong to China. It's a fascinating novel, full of corruption and intrigue. Both novels came out a long time ago. I submit that they remain timely. Current Chinese corruption is explained a lot in this book.

Daddy didn't care what happened to the site once he was gone. I am glad it is back up, but I hope that the guys who joined here this week will keep posting here. You just have to ignore Rockie.

The advantage there is that the organizer, Oliver, has kept a list of the email addresses of the attendees over the years.

One wishes that @readerand @z909could find a way to stop the bickering here. We coexist with others on the site, and that doesn't necessarily mean liking everyone.

Here's something I never anticipated reading about!

This morning the message-forum.net went offline. All I get when I go there is a blank page. If this is good-bye, well, it did come as a bit of a sudden surprise. But with the death of founder Bill, things were looking doubtful. I have had a lot of good experiences there. (A friend has written that he, too, cannot get the site to appear.)

Given the lack of Brazil reports lately, this one by @floridarobis a masterpiece!
