An openly gay local politician lost over $100,000 defending himself against charges brought by the evangelical Christian. He won the case, but he lost the money. Such is the power of a US Attorney. Now he is "acting" Attorney General despite never having been confirmed by Congress at any level. The thread made me wonder if I was still "choked-up" about any dead celebrity. John F. Kennedy, who was the President in 1964, was assassinated. That choked up a lot of people. As my trip to Thailand draws closer, I keep thinking I should just cancel it I've been there so many times, and it is no longer the Thailand I started out with in 1987. No, it's not a promise that Oz made to me, nor does it refer to the Brazilian garoto's penis when he first showed it to me. It's a novel, a gay related novel, set in Spain and authored by a woman. It's amazing. I know that referrals here get few responses, but I really liked this one. A gay couple in Madrid is separated by the lies one of them tells the other. The liar is soon dead, and we follow the widower into the world of aristocracy, religion, and cruelty. And just for Boytoy members to appreciate, there is a male hustler prominently featured. All This I Will Give To You by Dolores Redondo. $15.99 at Amazon. (I know the price because I spilled chocolate on my library copy!) You will like it if you like to read literary fiction. Even commercial fiction lovers will!

IMHO, the best thing that Boytoy has going for it is the Latin American forum. But, one post in three days? We used to have multiple posts per day. Hopefully recent rancor has not affected the forum. I feel certain that after Sunday's election more posts will arise, by why wait until then?

Voting is mandatory for Brasilians. Yet I read that 40 million people who voted chose no candidate for president. That may show some vulnerability on the bigot candidate's part. People realize that the country could take a turn towards dictatorship if Bolsonaro is elected. Maybe these 40 million people will vote against him on Sunday. I am not too hopeful, but why not think positive?
