Lagoa in SP: This was the first sauna I visited in Brazil on this trip, so I wanted to get a sense of the price range. Based on inflation data, 100 BRL in 2017 equates to 146 BRL in 2024. Alternatively, 100 BRL was about 30 USD in 2017, which translates to around 180 BRL today. I estimated the current rate to be between 150–180 BRL, but I knew it wouldn’t be that simple, so I asked around first. 😂 My first conversation was more of a market study than an actual hiring attempt. The guy approached me first—above average for the day but not my type. He quoted 200 BRL, I thanked him and walked away, but he kept chasing me down. That made me assume the rate was lower, probably around 150 BRL. The second guy, Matheus or something, was someone I was actually interested in hiring. Curly hair, toned but not overly muscular, tight body, nice ass—average height and size. He also quoted 200 BRL, and assuming the rate was lower, I politely declined, expecting some negotiation. He simply said “okay” and left. No big deal, as he wasn’t exactly my ideal type. Later, I found out he charges 250 BRL online for full service in São Paulo, which suggests he had inflated his rate for the sauna. Given the suite fee, hiring him online might have been a better deal. There were no other interesting options, so I left. As for the setting, the place had endless stairs, and the sauna's shower was right next to the bar, fully visible to everyone. I hated both aspects. Given that most clients here seem older, did they really not consider how impractical all those stairs would be?

In this series, I'll review saunas, dark room clubs with interactive boys, and online hiring based on my trip in December 2024 and January 2025. I'll also share a brief comparison of Brazil with other countries and my thoughts on Brazilian saunas. I hesitated to write this because it’s lengthy, and some forum members can be difficult when my views differ from theirs. Knowing the standard rates beforehand would have made my trip more efficient, as I spent time updating them myself—something I'll reveal here. Since this isn’t common on the forum, it was another reason for my hesitation. In my daytime work, I evaluate markets, so much of my thinking reflects those professional habits. If you want to hire probably hunqz is your best bet but it is really tiring to hire from online sites. Also, Paris is one of the most expensive places to hire in Europe, very close to the cost of London these days. Bringing guys to hotel should not be a problem in terms of safety if you are staying in a good hotel with security officers. You can just call the security and they will work for you. And there is no sauna with rent boys I know of.

What do you want to know? I have been to both in the last 6 months. Lagoa is not what it used to be but I guess you know that unless your 8 times were in a distant past. I don't find the guys there as attractive as before, actually struggled to find a guy who can be good: nice body, decent face. Also the price is not set so you have to negotiate and unless you are a regular there, I find the guys at Lagoa can be a bit difficult but I don't like price haggling so I might be biased. But I remember the guys were so sexy yet quite easy to deal with precovid but in my recent trip I really struggled with the guys there. Because you have to pay for the room at Lagoa the overall price per hire gets very close to 50 euro including the room cost. I don't find the guys there to be far better than guys at thermas in Barcelona so overall there is no cost or beauty advantage for Lagoa. Guys at thermas could be as sexy as Lagoa on weekend or Wednesday, but it also has slightly more diverse crowd: some other Latinos like many Colombians these days and one Spanish is almost always guaranteed these days ( he is really good!) and some Africans as well. I rarely see eastern Europeans anymore. But all charge 50e without discussion or if you just insist everyone will do it for 50e. A lot easier for someone like me who doesn't like to negotiate. On the other hand, hotels in Barcelona are insanely expensive these days compared to hotels in Brazil. So there is that. For me, flying into Barcelona is quite cheap compared to Brazil so overall Barcelona works out quite well for me. I rarely hire from Internet in Barcelona but I find the online guys in SP are just on their own league in terms of looks and quite reasonably priced if you ask them via local Whatsapp number. You know those 10/10 guys who used to frequent saunas are mostly online and easy to hire in SP. They are just stunning. When I hired them in December to January this year, many would ask only 300 reas, and some 400 but quite a few for 200-250 reas as well. Note that the price is not related to their look, not to mention the quality of the deed is completely unrelated to the price they charge from my experience. But you won't find these amazing looking guys in thermas or Barcelona. Barcelona is a lot safer and you don't have to worry about your safety but I can't say the same for SP. For visitors like us, Barcelona or Spain gives a lot more protection than Brazil because most escorts in Spain are outsides who cannot afford to be involved with police so they don't do anything sketchy. But you never know what happens when you hire someone from online in SP. There is always some risk. Finally I find Brazil to be a very interesting place for parties. They have some crazy events, like the ones discussed in this forum where anyone can play with the guest boys without paying additionally. I was thinking about writing my trip reviews about Brazil but got lazy but maybe I should write one so people can compare. I had far too many guys wanting to bb with me there but I was the one who wasn't interested. online hiring is not bad if you are willing to go through the whole list because there are so many and you don't know the quality until you meet because some might use their best or modified photos. So it is easier with sauna boys but i think right now it is only thermas in Spain that offers the in-person experience. I had a few really nice experiences from online hiring in Spain but most of them were part-time guys who stopped immediately. I think some people use this when they need some urgent cash, especially the latinos traveling to Spain for tourism or visiting expensive cities for fun. So the OP might have tried the worst days in Thermas but if the OP is in Canada, going to Brazil might still make more sense. I do think that Brazil is one of the most welcoming or tolerating countries, if not the most, in the world when it comes to the age difference in relationship. From my experience many Brazilians do not see the age gap as a bad thing or a taboo while in the Western gay scenes people over 40 are literally dead to most. Even people over 30 struggle in the west, which is so sad.

I think you missed the whole point because they are talking about the the conditions for locals and then how it would affect the overall saunas advantage. Nonetheless the tourists pay quite a large amount of money to get to Brazil so if they're not getting an absolutely good value there's no point for tourists to go to Brazil to hire so simply comparing the rate in the Western countries to rate in Brazil is not very effective. Anyway calling other members cheap or bitch is not the most constructive way of doing things in this forum because it's all voluntary. if somebody doesn't feel good about replying and engaging in this form because other members personally attack them they probably wouldn't contribute anymore.

I wish you informed us about this before December when many travelled to Brazil. In my recent experience at 117 many asked for much more, even the low end guys. But usually the price never reflects the quality of the gps, mostly it reflects their personality...I think this sort of insane tourist price strategy by gps can really diminish the attractiveness of the saunas...At thermas in Barcelona it has been fixed at 50 euros ever since, even through the recent inflation and insane rental prices in the city. Unless 117 has a better strategy soon I am not sure if it will keep attracting both gps and clients...the market exists only if both the demand and supply meet but now 117 is moving in a wrong direction: lost the top quality gps and increased the prices etc. I am curious how the situation develops in the future. Many businesses go away when they do not keep up with the changes and I hope 117 can evolve in order to survive and keep providing us with beautiful memories
