Can't say I blame you. Must be hard enough having to interact with yourselves.

Is there a notice at the entrance? If you take a pic I can read it for ya.

Accomodation in Bangok when staying in Thailand for 2 months
mauRICE replied to gytis123's topic in Gay Bangkok
How is this "nearly 2 months"? -
Not a dumb question at all. We all started somewhere. High season refers to the high tourist season, usually from November to February, with a peak in December and a moderate rise during the Chinese New Year period with more Southeast Asian and East Asian tourists visiting. It's more or less the same throughout Thailand. The Songkran festival in mid April will also see a significant rise in the number of visitors in the major cities. The cool season in the north and Songkran in Chiang Mai are also very popular with domestic tourists. Certain provinces, for eg Phuket during the vegetarian festival in October, will see a surge in tourists. Prices for accommodation and domestic flights are usually higher during the high season and festival periods.

Value is a subjective thing. I like dressing up in the evenings and going to smart places. Why deride a place even before it's open?
-
I like this. It's pretty. PP could be the initials of the owners for eg Piss and Pot (Piss is pronounced as Pitt in Thai). If they keep the music at a reasonable level, this could be a good place to catch up with friends or stop and have a tipple while taking a break from the caucophony of the complex and Jomtien in general.

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2025/11/30/039men-only039-spa-raid-171-get-off-scot-free-after-court-rejects-remand-order-in-039victimless039-case Yup, it was a shakedown, just as I suspected. The 171 Malaysians caught have been released and the rest will be released by tomorrow. The courthouse was raining with activist lawyers, including Shari'e ones, as soon as news of the arrests came to light. The LGBTQ+ support movement in Malaysia is very organised and there are excellent protocols in place for incidents like this. The two Penal Code provisions for unnatural sex carry a heavy burden of proof and simply hanging out in towels or undressed in a sauna will not satisfy them. Bar a confession, it will be difficult to secure a conviction and the first thing the lawyers instructed those caught was not to confess to anything (phone messages were being shared like wildfire!). The evidentiary requirements for a Shari'ah conviction are even higher as you need witnesses to the act - no need to get excited, Olddaddy. Sadly, the damage is done. I've seen a few unpixalated videos of the arrest with faces of those caught clearly showing, including the obligatory overweight, elderly farang seated in a chair in the corner. This will likely destroy a few careers and reputations. Yup, it was a shakedown.

The immigration officer probably took pity on you: you only came ten times in the last two years. You and your boyfriend need to buck up! 🤣 Enjoy your holiday - hope you have a good one. 👍

Hasn't this always been their story? "No customers, no offs, no money, many bills to pay..." What would you rather hear? "Hey Mister, you're my third customer of the day. I'm all spermed out but for 2,000 Baht I'll put up with your fat arse for the next hour or so and dream of my girlfriend or the bar girl opposite while going at it?" They are not only there to sell their bodies but also the illusion that you're their one and only John who's come to "save" them, a tactic that works well with white men who come to Asia with a modicum of guilt and a saviour mentality. The sun may have set on the empire but the burden never ceases.

Some pictures of my friend's cosmetics shop in central Hatyai after the flood. It's completely destroyed, including stocks stored in the shop. She and her family have worked very hard to establish the business. Her home several kilometres away is also badly damaged and inhabitable at the moment. They've got insurance and the capital to rebuild - which will take months - but many others don't. Small to medium enterprises like theirs have been among the hardest hit. November and December have traditionally been the busiest months in Hatyai being the Malaysian and Singaporean school holidays and now they've lost all potential business. Hopefully they'll be able to get something going by Chinese New Year in mid February next year. The first pic was taken before the flood.

I read about it this morning and was mildly curious. According to speculation in the Malay language media it is the Otot-otot sauna. Otot-otot opens at 5 PM on weekdays and at 3 PM on weekends. It may have gone through renovations and re-opened recently. What foreign visitors may not be aware of or noticed, is that the sauna is situated in a row of shop-lots where several evangelical churces or prayer meeting places are located, led by virulent African pastors. Friends and activists have reported being harrassed by them previously on the way to or upon leaving the sauna. I don't know whether this still happens or whether the churches are still active. The doctor who was caught is a surgeon. His risable excuse was that he was there to relax and get a reprieve from the traffic jam on his way home! 🤣 I bet his wife knows all about it too and turns the other cheek. Hey, he's a surgeon, isn't he? Not unusual as the most powerful man in our country right now (but not for long) is a Roy Cohn clone and his wife, an opthalmologist, has always turned the other cheek. I suppose she sees only what she wants to see. 🤷 The Muslim men who were caught, if charged, may be charged under the relevant Shari'ah provisions (as officers of the religious authority were in the raid team which itself is very interesting) but I have a feeling this was more of a shakedown or a distraction from larger events happening in the country right now. According to one of the reports, more than twenty civil servants were caught... and the KL police chief was there to oversee things? Really? That's a mighty powerful post and my guess is they're looking for certain fish to fry. Incidentally, the laws governing homosexual practices in Malaysia fall under the Penal Code - a colonial relic from the Victorian era - not the Shari'ah. Singapore, Pakistan and India have (or used to have) similar laws. Interestingly, Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim country, do not have such laws. I guess the Dutch who ruled for two hundred years weren't as curious or as uptight as the Brits about what two consulting adults did in the privacy of the bedroom - or the bushes. 🤷 Next...🥱

If they made a sequel to that movie Sybil, Olddaddy would be perfect for the part of the (much) older Sybil although Sally Field would probably kill him for it.
-
They brought in Gurkhas when they heard Olddaddy was coming to town.

Some good news. My friend and her elderly father have been rescued and taken to a shelter. Both are fine. But many others are waiting to be rescued or for supplies. Every life is precious and I can't imagine the toll this disaster has taken on the livestock, pets and strays.

But thanks to Pattaya, the dead live again!

These photos were taken by friends who live or are on holiday in Hatyai. My family home and farm are only a two-hour drive away but we're on high ground. The flooding has been going on for five consecutive days affecting 690,000 people in Hatyai alone but Anutin only woke up to the magnitude of this disaster yesterday. Meanwhile, volunteer rescue missions from Malaysia and Singapore have been going in since last Sunday. The upcoming SEA Games events that have been scheduled in Songkhla will likely be relocated to Bangkok and Chonburi. Here's a sample of the kind of messages I've been receiving from friends stranded there. The last bit reads like an excerpt from Anne Frank. 11:28 PM. I'm still sitting at home, waiting for the evacuation boat, along with neighbors in both Soi 11/1 and Soi 12, who are all waiting with hope for a boat to arrive. In Soi 12, especially, even the whistle for help is becoming faint. The whistler must be exhausted. No one in the alley dares to sleep. Everyone is listening carefully for the boat's sound, taking turns waking up to keep an eye out. The water level is now at the top of the stairs, with five steps left to reach the second floor. We're still waiting.

Bangkok Post - Immigration police target visitors making multiple visa runs https://share.google/bngmUTZYumHsfRh8E Just a general update. No new specifics other than visitors who have stayed a total of 45 days or more recently would be subjected to greater scrutiny.
