(Sorry guys I just realised this should of been posted in the Health section of the forum) I just on the WhatsApp this morning chatting to a friend of a friend in Phuket who has been in the Phuket hospital on a drip most of the night. And apparently they were " pumping his stomach " ...I have no idea what they means but doesn't sound good He is in his late 60's and whilst I believe in the motto Go hard ,grow old disgracefully etc there is only so far you can take your body at that age It has been told to me that he had drunk so much he had vomited everywhere and had to get an ambulance as he fell down the stairs as well of the bar covered in vomit and stubbed his toe๐คฎ๐คฎ A few days of sleepless nights , taking energy drinks to stay awake etc I heard to see the sights One thing we all forget on vacation is time management and health. We all need to cram everything into those short trips of 7 nights etc and forget our sleep and healthy eating ,drinking and partying with alcohol to excess especially if we are not use to alcohol They were staying 7 nights /8 days package they got cheap and that could be a reason too , too short of a trip Apparently he did take out travel insurance but whilst I didn't comment on that to them, I did recall a case last year of a Australian woman in similar circumstances who was refused her claim because she was intoxicated at the time. I will keep up to date on him . But I do think it's fantastic he is "partying",๐ฅณ I also think also you need to be responsible. I'm surprised the bar did not stop his alcohol consumption when they realised he was paralytic. I do try to plan my holiday in getting enough sleep , alcohol consumption, diet ,exercise , vitamins B and multi vitamins Berocca etc I rarely drink except if I go to a bar ,and if I do I try to limit it to a glass ๐ท of wine or two. I like a sweet red wine ,but I draw the line at 2 per evening ...most times ๐ but ...as thais say ...you think too much ! ๐

Love it ๐ I do the same , you get to see new and exciting places. Even if I get lost I still have my Grab app to get back.

General Santos City or Gensan as it's called is known for its Tuna industry Every year they have the Tuna Festival first week of September I went mostly because I was visiting a ex boyfriend who had been to Australia and his wonderful family. I didn't see any crime or danger whatsoever, probably far safer there than walking in some Western cities during the day I got accosted 4 times yesterday in Sydney city for money with some aggressive beggars abusing me for ignoring them, and during my week in Gensan not one person asked for money ! I stayed at first in a expensive hotel ,forget the name...but it was a generic type place , beautiful lobby , staff calling you Sir etc ....but very "clinical" then being a cheap charlieband wanting to meet "normal" people I decided to move to the Red Doorz about 1000 pesos a night (650 baht where the young Filipino hosts were great and met wonderful travellers from Sweden etc It was clean and had a great security guard who sat out the front,a wonderful cafe where at 9pm they cooked me a delicious Filipino pisig pork meal The chef was a young brown skinned 24yo who asked 'you want me to bring it to your room? Lots and lots of guys on Grindr ๐and that's what I love about new places I'm getting older now maybe another 15-20 years left of life if I'm lucky ,I would rather see new places and experience more. A guy at my work died last week 52yo fit as a fiddle died in his sleep brain clot or stroke ,such a shock to everyone that he had passed , apparently his partner found him unresponsive He said to me the day before at work that when he retires he will travel the World ๐ he had never left Australia He never got that chance ,he was so tight I remember him haggling the price of his coffee down in 711 because they only had run out fresh milk in the machine Some may have no interest in the "Tuna City" but the people there were very friendly to me and I enjoyed the experience. I say do as much as you can , experience new places ,new people, new things Many won't leave the "comfort zone" of Thailand because it's "easy" and they know that place It's such a hard change to try another place especially somewhere like the Philippines But who knows how long we have , I won't be here in 30 years put it that way. Grow old disgracefully is my motto ๐

I was there last year . People all very polite ,well dressed looked like a lot of uni students I toured the Tuna factory , parks etc Gensan is the Tuna city I even stayed in the cheap Red Doorz inn ,1000 pesos a night and met wonderful Filipino tourists Grindr is very busy by the way in Gensan but I wasn't comfortable bringing back to room as I got too friendly with the staff ๐ I didn't know it was supposed to be dangerous, its like a country city similar to Udon Thani I had so many cars stop for me at the zebra crossing, I had many young people ask me if I needed directions when I was looking on my phone, nothing like Manila City where the people are in a hurry I stayed a week and would go back tomorrow if I could I even went to Anytime fitness , no one seemed to care The famous boxer Manny Pacquiao lives there ,his sister is the Mayor You may like Youtuber Marshall Butters ,he is a 64yo Aussie guy who goes even further south to the Muslim areas

I love your posts I guess just like me you will eventually how do I put it nicely "give up " ......and be happy with your own company. Most times now as I get older I prefer to be by myself. If your after a real boyfriend who will care for you in my opinion 3 hours away is the Philippines!! ๐ต๐ญ Yes Bangkok in my opinion is far better for socialising than Pattaya . You get far more younger tourists travelling through ,

Well the reason I didn't get the Covid boosters is because I don't or should I say didn't believe in them.

I know it's somewhere up the top of the World but no unless I google it But I'm sure if I walked into any bar in Australia and said I'm off to Anchorage today I would get some perplexed looks !,๐ -

Yes I prefer to have a microwave if I can. Of course I must have a hotwater jug.

Yes Airbnb is great for long stays and much cheaper. The downside is some Airbnb owners will also add extra charges for utilities at the end of your stay.

Yes !. I didn't bother with the covid booster,I didn't even bother with the flu vaccine this year which every year I get without fail Last week at this time I was lifting weights in the gym feeling strong and energetic Right now I'm in bed with coughing , tired, body aches . Once this is over I will go get the covid booster

Amazingly I just travelled the last 2 months through Thailand Philippines Malaysia meeting a combination of guys from money boys to non money boys to straight to bisexual and Rimmed and licked many butts and kissed many mouths. I came back to Australia 2 weeks ago fit n healthy where I headed to the gym in such a energetic mood. Last Sunday I was forced to call in sick to my workplace with body aches ,headache , bronchitis. Unfortunately the doctor would only see me via the FaceTime video. He told me to have a covid test ,buy it from the pharmacy Yesterday I had a RAT test which is covid positive. Today I'm much better but still lying in bed using paracetamol The body aches & tiredness is the worst following the breathing almost like wheezing having to sit up to breathe Though not as bad as I experienced it several years ago before I had my 2 X vaccination I in reality should of got a covid booster & flu vax I can't imagine what I would be like though I had not had the 2 covid vaccinations so I believe they saved me from much worse symptoms I believe it's something I caught at the gym , I remember people coughing on the treadmill next to mine etc Day 4 of this ,I hope it goes soon. I'm eating soups ,vitamins etc Slept for 12 hours yesterday dozed off at 5pm woke at 5am I always seem to have dreams when I'm sick ๐ค and wake up suddenly

My next trip to Manila will be a short 8 nights. I'm tossing up between a hotel or Airbnb Obviously hotel will be a little more expensive though just a few hundred dollars more . There are positives & negatives to both. What's your experience of this if you have stayed in both?
-
Must be noisy ๐ง I'm also right in the City but you get used to the sirens, loud drunks ,screaming ,noise beeping , I went to the country last week and I couldn't sleep ๐ช

No I was recently in Manila last month I had no one ask anything about Covid I will be going back in a few months so hopefully can do a report

Bkkmf , interesting points thanks for bringing this up May I ask you and anyone else a few questions Is it this "generation" of Gay farangs who are reserved /keep to themselves or they more the older ones? I'm asking that because I'm wondering what the next generation will be like ,say fast forward 10-15 years will we be more "friendly" or more into our iPhones etc , unsociable I found the younger gay farangs more talkative than the snarly old ones , I met a few young Singaporean guys in Pattaya visiting The next question, are Bangkok Gay farangs more friendly, to me spending a few nights in Bangkok I made more friends in 3 nights than I did it in years of going to pattaya!!๐ I still have many phone numbers. Thirdly , nowadays you can be gay and mix with the Pattaya straight communi, I do and you can be accepted if you can joke and have a thick skin to their joking around So if your playing pool up at soi Bukhao in a "rough" bar say the Aussie bar and people know your gay then joke with them. Sadly though ,I too found the same as you in the Pattaya gay community

I have a partner and when he does have time to travel with me , refuses to stay in any hotel that doesn't provide breakfast!!๐ Makes it awkward because I love my cheese n ham toasties from 711. "So your idea " , he says "is to sit on the 711 steps and eat cheese n ham toasties ? Yes !๐

I have been there twice but never again. I was listening to a radio interview of a Australian professor jailed for a few years by them on ABC radio , he believes they will be overthrown eventually. As for the lady that was home detained for many years ,I used to love her bravery but she too became a wicked leader especially to the Rohingya minority

Howards Hotel Does anyone remember that era?

I can only speak about last month in May , I recall it being very busy one Friday night that there was a line up . There was lot of younger trendy type guys from Singapore and Malaysia ,
