August 4, 20242 yr I have a 7 day break from work next month Im thinking taking a break ,fly from Sydney to Bangkok Im not strapped for cash but I don't like to waste it either Do any of you ever fly to BKK for 7 days/nights? Is that sound ridiculous?
August 4, 20242 yr I've told my story of going for a weekend from Dallas......That's in Texas, in the southern-middle part of the US...thought I'd save you from looking it up 😉 Better to have gone for a weekend or a week than not at all....

I had a rough idea where Texas is 😄 I saw it on television,it's near the Mexican border apparently. If I was going to the USA for a holiday,which I probably never will, I would definitely go to Texas to see the guys wearing the cowboy 🤠 hats and be bent over by a Cowboy
August 4, 20242 yr While not a weekend, I’ve done a week which includes more than 24 hours of travel time from San Francisco.

August 4, 20242 yr I think a week is plenty. I guess the flight time is 9-10 hours? That's quite easy to do, espeically if one leg is an overnighter (so you don't lose a day). Moreover, there's only a few hours time zone difference so there's no jet lag to worry about. If you do something like what @vinapu does, you can squeeze in 18 encounters (6 days x 3 encounters a day). That should leave you happy enough. One cost consideration would be if you absolutely must fly business class. Honestly, I don't see what's so difficult about economy class, but yeah, if that is a non-negotiable requirement for making a trip then it can make a difference to your calculations. As for my own thinking, a week is about the maximum I can withstand in Bangkok. More than that, I'd be getting bored and restless.

I did it twice, both in Octobers of 2018 and 2019 and for me it rarely takes less than 26 hours door to door plus jet lag resulting from being on opposite side of the world. Tiring but still it was fruitful and worth of the effort and expense, My last trip in May was only 8 days but I was not coming from home so less of jet lag issue and much shorter flight although surprisingly not cheaper at all.

( Jan , 27 days , only once, May 8 days, only 3 times ) Every hat trick so to speak includes 2 massages and as we know there's nothing sinister going in Thai massage places
August 4, 20242 yr If you find some good flights why not, 7 days is better than none. If you can get a directs flight after work overnight, and arrive back the day before work I would do it.

August 4, 20242 yr My next visit is 3 nights Pattaya, 6 days Bangkok, 6 nights Siem Reap, then 4 days Bangkok, so different venues to break up the time. On the business class issue. I have a 12 hour flight, and I am lucky enough to be able to fly business class. As you get older, I am 70, I reckon it saves you a couple of days of exhaustion. My flight takes off at 10pm, meal, drink, sleep 7 hours, arrive BKK 3pm, hotel, shower, ready for night out!

August 5, 20242 yr Twice, as a forty-eight year-old youngster in the first flush of my love -affair with Thailand, I travelled from London for a five day stay. And loved every minute of it. I have no memory of how I coped back at work the day after my return, though perhaps my colleagues have!

Or tell them to wake u up for meals at certain times, like 1 hour before descend
