  1. Last year when I was departing for the airport, I approached a taxi driver and asked how much the fare would be to the airport. He told me that it would be 3000 baht. If I had been a first time visitor to Thailand, I could have easily been sucked in.This year I ordered a Bolt taxi, which arrived within a couple of minutes and the fare was very reasonable.
  2. I work with several Indians, many of whom are from Kerala. They eat traditional Indian diets and I have never noticed body odour from any of them. When you have BO, you tend to be unaware of it. I remember the old jingle:"Don't wait to be told, you need Palmolive Gold." In my early days of bodybuilding I would often eat up to 3 cans of tuna a day - until I was told one day that I stank of fish. Needless to say that I have completely avoided fish ever since.
  3. That's good news. So maybe Tawan will be back on my agenda when I next return to Bangkok.
  4. I'm sure that Dee is the one with keloids on his chest. I had never heard of keloids either.
  5. Really, Olddaddy, I have flown from Sydney to Bangkok. It takes 9 1/2 hours - roughly 6 hours longer than to Alice Springs.
  6. I mostly go downstairs to the taxi rank, as I don't know how to travel light and it's a hassle to lug luggage around You get a number which gives you an allocation for the taxi. The cost should be about 600 baht. I have used the train twice, without luggage, to go to meet people at the airport. It's very straightforward. From the airport you travel to Makkasan, then follow the crowds to walk a fairly short distance to Phayathai station. Get the train which goes to National Stadium and change at Siam station and get the train from there to Saladaeng on the Silom line, which goes to Bang Wa. Someone please simplify it if I have made it a bit complicated. If you are reasonably fit and can handle the heat, it's a walkable distance to Ibis Styles from Saladaeng station. The good thing going from the airport is that you should be able to get a seat. Going to the airport can be a lot more difficult because people are usually packed in like sardines. The SIM cards are useful if you want to order a Bolt or Grab taxi or use Google maps, etc, otherwise just use the hotel WiFi. Vinapu, can you please tell me how much you pay for your SIM card? I have a separate Thai phone, keep the SIM card in there and top it up when I arrive. It would probably be easier just to use one phone which can take both cards.
  7. I am seriously thinking of visiting Arena before I go home. Please could you inform me whether it is cash only or whether some parlours will accept cards?
  8. And then seeing how he is. Does he kiss well? How hot is he? What things can we do together? Is there some kind of connection? Kissing is the number one erotic activity for me. Knowing that you also are interested in the Atlas boys, may I add that the ones I have offed have been keen to oblige.
  9. You sound exactly like me, ernie. I have met up with so many lovely people from all over the world during this latest trip and I have been fortunate in having memorable experiences with muscular money boys. But at the end of the day I prefer to have my down time and also to go to bed by myself. I have often thought, however, about inviting my guy to stay overnight if he wants, but without sex, that is keeping it short time. He would then not have to do the long journey home on a wet night, could sleep in an air conditioned room, have a hearty, protein-packed breakfast at the Quarter Silom and use the facilities.
  10. My trip to Thailand is quickly winding up. Now that I am completely free from family (my nephew married a Thai lady) I have been making several visits to Atlas. It's actually been a bit awkward as I have had 2 boys there wanting me (ok....my money), so I have had to try to share the love. Anyhow, on King's birthday, Monday, I went to the bar at about 10 pm. I was immediately grabbed by my 'regular', and we left before the show started. There were a couple of guys on the stage I would have gladly taken, but that's a other story. At that stage there were only two customers there, so I don't know whether they even went ahead with the show. Last night I decided to return at about the same time. I knew that my 2 guys weren't going to be there, so I thought it would give me the opportunity to try someone new, much as I really like the other 2 and will continue to see them. I made a point of seeking out Arthur (manager )and told him that he should have a sign outside to advertise the time of the show. I also think he should aim for 10 pm, instead of 1045, because the chances are that customers might be enticed to go to other bars where the shows start earlier. To my embarrassment I was the only one there. By 1045 there was only one other customer and after a few minutes we were told that they had decided to cancel the show. The lady boy was already there too. So my advice to Arthur was timely, methinks. Long story short, I decided to take Vit. And what a super sweet, caring, muscular guy he is too. I must say that the Atlas boys have been very attentive and eager to please. I'm sure I will not go to any other bars in Bangkok in the future. But my concern is that if Atlas continues to get so few customers, what will it's future be. If anyone is planning to go there, please encourage Arthur to advertise his bar a bit more.
  11. Ok, I could HAVE bought a bigger house, updated my motorbike, gone to expensive restaurants and bought golden taps. I could have sat down and tallied up the money I have spent on my latest trip, which I am now beginning to wind up. Despite finding amazing Agoda hotel deals in the low season, the costs have been quite prohibitive over the past few weeks and I wouldn't dare to sit down and count the cost. I've travelled throughout the country with my Thai family (my nephew married a Thai lady) and spent time with them in their home town of Pattaya, visiting a few bars in between. Now as the holiday draws to a close, I'm going crazy with money boys, as I'm running out of time.. However, I've counted the cost. I'm not rich, but I'm comfortable. I have enough money to retire on and can afford to visit Thailand every year and maybe will make it twice a year. But if there weren't savings to fall back on, it would be crazy to spend up large the way I have been.
  12. Hey, ernie, he sounds like the guy I was offing last year. He always massages me afterwards and then we shower together
  13. I love that...solid-arity rules!
  14. Vinapu, you have whetted my appetite about Arena and it is now on my 'to do' list. I have read poor reviews about Arena which mainly seem to revolve around pricing, but it seems that disgruntled customers did not do their homework and make full inquiries before having their treatment.
  15. Thank you jamiebee. Maybe our preference for bulkier guys makes us a minority on the board, so it's great to share our experiences. It was a real privilege to be able to feel up such a muscular guy. BTW his name was Dee. I learned something new from him and from my second visit to Atlas. He told me that he only did bar work about 4 nights a week. I had assumed that many of the guys worked every night. So we just don't know what the quality of the stable will be from one evening to the next By the way, have you (or anyone else here) been to Beef bar?
  16. What saunas did you try? I went to Krubb in Phra Khanong last year when they had a show on a Saturday night. It's several stops away from Saladaeng on the Sukumviht line, but always seems to be lively when they have a show.
  17. Vinapu, might I please ask which one Nop is?
  18. Oh my goodness. I was there too. I got there after the show had started. It must start earlier during the week than the weekend. I had a feeling that you might have been there. I was very impressed with the show anyway and I will be returning.
  19. I went to the Atlas last night, not expecting much, being early in the week.....maybe a rehash of the show I saw last weekend. There were several customers already there, many of them being women. Also a group of enthusiastic Australian men, a handful of Asians as well as others on their own. The lineup for the show was completely different from the weekend. There were far fewer guys for a start and many were in very good shape. I actually really enjoyed one of the ladyboy's routines too. She had a permanent smile while lit up the room and great personality and audience participation. Later during the show a farang entered the bar and two of the bodybuilders immediately went and sat next to him and before you knew it they had a can each. I guess he's a regular. He might have offed one of the guys, but the other one was still there at the end of the evening. By the end of the show everyone had trickled out, leaving yours truly by myself, staring at the stage where no more than 10 guys were standing. At the weekend the stage was crowded, many of whom were well toned, but not with huge muscularity. But it was a different scenario last night. One was a large competitive bodybuilder, another an off-season bodybuilder. Two other muscular, well toned guys as well as other guys in good shape. Even though I was the only customer, I was approached quietly but not at all pushy by one of the staff. Now what an enormous decision to make. Talk about being spoiled for choice. The guy I usually "off" wasn't working last night. I know he would have immediately made a beeline for me. Much as I like him so much and will go with him again, I was secretly glad that I had the opportunity to pick someone else for a change. So I went for the competitive bodybuilder, who was wearing glasses. He told me it would be 3000 baht, but that's how much I give to my regular guy anyway. He drove me back to Quarter Silom on his scooter. He didn't seem to know the hotel, surprisingly enough. He's a humble, friendly, accommodating guy and he was fine with kissing. We did most of our antics in the shower too. This was a great evening. It was as if The Tawan had reinvented itself in a new bar. Maybe it was similar at Tawan the same night. Who knows. So the moral of the story is not to write off a bar after one visit and not to assume that weeknights won't be worth it.
  20. Unfortunately, other hotels do the same. I realised that I had booked the correct day, but the wrong month at Quarter Silom last year. I was unable to stay on that particular date and could not get a refund.
  21. Hello Artemis I do feel a bit hesitant about answering your question as my taste in guys might be different from yours and the guys I prefer are certainly not everybody's cup of tea, but I recall that you are a Tawan fan too. My man is probably the oldest out of all the guys at Tawan and Atlas. He's quite short, but with a strong body, good shape (legs and chest) and muscular biceps, which he likes to flex. He came up to me at Tawan a couple of years ago and the rest is history. I was surprised when he wanted me to take a photo of him posing naked on one occasion. What I like about him is that he's eager to please and is happy to French kiss, which many bodybuilders apparently don't like to do, but it's something I enjoy. I do some muscle worship and he jerks me off. Then he will give me a massage and we'll shower together. I haven't asked him to do any more than that as I'm more than satisfied with our arrangements.
  22. On Friday night I headed off to Atlas bar to see what all the hype was about. When I arrived, who should I see sitting outside but a guy I offed a few times last year from the Tawan Bar. I found out later that he had recently transferred to Atlas. He can be a bit possessive, and as he hadn't noticed me, I thought I would make a visit to Tawan instead to see what talent they had there and catch up with him on Saturday. The first thing I noticed on arrival at Tawan was that they just ushered me in without paying the regulatory 500 baht at the door. After I had been seated the drinks menu came out. As I looked at the stage, alarm bells started ringing. Should I exit and tell them that I left my wallet at the hotel? Many of the guys looked as if they had never lifted weights, let alone done any cardio. Against my better judgement, I decided to stay. Things could only get better....right? There were quite a few customers in the room, mainly Chinese I imagine. As for the show, I think I counted half a dozen drag queen routines. There was the obligatory big cock parade with the usual pushing for tips. Two large bodybuilders in their naked glory made the show more worthwhile. One was in very good shape, the other being definitely off-season. After the show the guys all stood on the stage, as is usual. I was hoping to get the attention of the bodybuilders, but was approached by 2 other guys instead and in the end I decided to leave empty handed. So off I ventured to the Atlas on Saturday evening. I have been a long time fan of Tawan but IMHO Atlas came out the winner of the two. The decor is bright and modern, the staff were well presented and attired, without being too pushy. The stable of boys had more variety too, including some twinks who had firm abs. Because of the rain I don't know if all the regular boys turned up. There were some bodybuilders there, but there also seemed to be boys who would fit all types of customer preference. And, needless to say, I ended up with my regular guy. Now this is an entirely subjective review. Just my 2 cents worth.
  23. I'm a fan of Quarter Saladaeng and always stay there when I arrive in Bangkok, mainly to chill out, unwind from jet lag and adjust to the time zone (Thailand being 5 hours behind). But then it's time to move closer to the action. Saladaeng is certainly within walking distance, but I prefer to just walk around the corner when I am offing a guy. If the rates are favourable, I go for Quarter Silom, otherwise Tarntawan. By the way no matter where I am staying I usually go to Quarter Saladaeng for their buffet breakfast, which is 199 baht. The dining room staff always make me feel welcome. Agate and Zing Resort and Spa are just a short walk to the beach. I haven't stayed at hotels in the Boyztown area, as am worried about noise levels there.
  24. Me too!!
  25. Last year I stayed at BBHOUSE, next to Welcome World. It's a budget hotel and if you pay at reception it doesn't seem to be any dearer than through Agoda. The cheaper rooms are basic, but they are quite large. But what I love about this hotel is that you can sit at the entrance, where you get a sea view and can watch all the people walking past. It's easy to walk over the road to the beach as the traffic is much lighter here. A short walk takes you to the baht bus route and also to Jomtien Plaza. I stayed at the Zing Resort and Spa initially, but the bed was too hard for my liking, so I ended up staying at BBHOUSE.
