The Democrats need to flip five Senate seats in November or they'll potentially have Fetterman as the new Sinema/Machin. Those two knee capped Biden with their obstructionism for the first two years of his term.

I will repeat my "rant" about Lichtman. He's keys were fine for the age when they were created, and in the instant dispersed media landscape we now live in, they are less relevant. The fact (yes fact) that Biden was basically a very competent president, who brought in some far reaching policy and program initiatives that brought America back from the economic collapse we had under Trump, didn't matter, because Biden was a shitty campaigner. Biden was the most transformational president since Lyndon B Johnson (in a good way) or Reagan (in a terrible terrible way). Biden needed to accept the hard truth that he was a shitty campaigner/communicator (and old). If he could have just realized that and accepted it, he could have stepped back after one term and spent the last two years of his term promoting the next generation of leadership. He'd have been remembered as the happy generous warrior, rather than the old guy who wouldn't let go. Lichtman's keys don't factor in the importance of campaigning and vibes.

Personally I don't care if he doesn't give a fuck. I want him out on the campaign trail and totally visible attached to every Republican running for office, and forcing these apologists for incompetence to defend the tariff tax, the billionaire give aways, the corruption.

I've been thinking of this for a while now and don't know where to put it so I'll put it here. When the Democrats ran Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Kamala Harris in 2024 and both lost, the conclusion for many people was that the USA is not prepared to elect a woman. I think there is more to it than that. American's didn't elect the Clinton/Kaine ticket, or the Harris/Walz ticket. What else do these two tickets have in common - SDE. If the Democrats run a woman again for President, the Vice-President has to have BDE. The 2024 election was concerned mom (with her insipid partner) versus angry dad, and Americans chose angry dad (well, angry lying cheating dad). Not the first time that mistake has been made.

The ad that I saw felt like whoever created it was trying to echo the Janet Mills ad in Maine about Platner, but in Michigan there doesn't seem to be any there there. The ad is really cherry picking obscure fractions of quotes from years and years ago.
