  1. Getting back to the point of perceptions matter. You may be set in your opinion, a lot of Americans are not. We do need their bullhorn and acknowledgement. We do need them banging on about this regime of corruption, to the point where FOX and Newsmax can't only exist in some fantasy world purporting the nonsense that things are getting better and not down the toilet.
  2. Mocking the simplistic rantings of neo-populist conservatives can be effective. Years ago Stockwell Day was the leader of the emerging neo-populist rightwing party of the Canadian Alliance. The Canadian, sort of equivalent, of SNL, This Hour has 22 Minutes, started a petition to have Canadian Alliance leader Stockwell Day change his name to Doris Day. With 370,000 signatures it reached the threshold to trigger a national referendum. Effectively making the point that referendums are no way to govern. (I really want a reporter to ask The Incompetent why, with his biblical Trooth Social post, did he chose to be represented as Fat Jesus - but I digress). 'Doris Day' petition hits the mark | CBC News Even though there was mocking involved, the mocking was about an idea, and came across as humorous and not mean-spirited. I think that is still largely true of Canadian politics versus American politics. Public financing of election campaigns and controls of campaign spending also help in Canada.
  3. Someone start an on-line petition to have him change the spelling of his first name to "Cash" Patel.
  4. This is largely my point. The Incompetent was handed a growing economy by Obama. The economy that was doing well during the Incompetent's 1st term was handed to him, until he eventually fucked it up, like he always does, with his catastrophic mishandling of the COVID pandemic. The only success he had in his first term was taking credit for someone else's work on the economy - until he eventually fucked it up. And, as you say, perceptions matter. Lots of people have a notion that the Incompetent is responsible for any economic successes - not a fact based notion. Don't let him get away with this in his second term. He was again handed a growing economy, drug prices coming down, gas prices coming down, inflation decreasing, job growth rapidly expanding, non-nuclear Iran (which John Kerry had already achieved through negotiations in 2016, but I digress), supports for new manufacturing in the USA, infrastructure investments (which Republicans voted against and now enjoy cutting ribbons for - but I again digress). I know this is an old story. The GOP paints Obama and Biden presidencies as economic failures, when in both cases they were cleaning up GOP economic disasters (financial crisis of 2008 and pandemic crisis of 2020) and left the Incompetent-in-Chief growing economies marked particularly by job growth, which he is going to eventually fuck up again. With this term, the incompetency is blatantly obvious. The corruption is blatantly obvious. I think these are the simple, concise messages that would be winners for the 2/3rds of Americans who are opposed to this regime that is for, by and about enriching billionaires. Also the megalomania and bat shit crazy of the Incompetent pairs nicely with the blatant corruption messaging.
  5. For the fall elections, I think the winning message is speaking to the incompetency and corruption of this current regime in Washington DC. The economy, this is the second time The Incompetent has been handed a growing economy and then completely fucked it up. The first time with the disastrous response to COVID, the second time with the tariffs and attacking our allies. He's been an economic incompetent. Foreign policy, The Incompetent likes dropping bombs. He likes causing chaos in other countries, he likes causing chaos at home. A negotiated peace? He's incapable of that, it's win or lose with him and a negotiated peace deal is beyond his abilities. His incompetence is going to lead us into another forever war. The spin off of insider trading amongst his buddies with the Friday afternoon peace pronouncements before TACO Tuesday brings us back to reality - that's just a bonus for The Incompetent. Incompetency and corruption - the twin pillars of his triumphal archway.
  6. The Incompetent-in-Chief was born on 3rd base and he has spent his life trying to convince himself, and anyone who would listen, that he hit a Triple.
  7. This is happening in the back seat of Hegseth's Trans Am I'm assuming
  8. The best description I've heard of the Incompetent-in-Chief is this: he was born on 3rd base and he's spent his life trying to convince anyone who would listen that he hit a triple.
  9. Prime Minister Mark Carney playing hockey with President Stubb of Finland. Normal people talking normally with each other.
  10. Will the Incompetent-in-Chief's chosen war's effect on gas prices accelerate the increase in bankruptcies under this regime? One metaphor that works to describe this regime is an oil tanker crash, and we're going to be cleaning up after him and MAGA for decades.
  11. Here's one problem with the Incompetent-in-Chief and a negotiated deal with Iran. The Incompetent has limited tools in his personal tool box. He's limited in his thinking to winning and losing, not negotiating an international deal that naturally will involve mutual compromises. The Incompetent see's peace through winning, not through negotiations. His fragile ego needs to "win". Personally I think negotiations are doomed for the foreseeable future, until his MAGA sheeple decide to convince The Incompetent that this is personally damaging him domestically.
  12. He didn't have to show off his tits. She did. Part of the entrance fee
  13. The tone of her email was seeking Maxwell out to meet up when they were in the same city. Melania, by that email, was seeking a relationship with Maxwell. These people can lie the way the rest of us breathe. It's breath-taking how self-involved they are with themselves.
  14. He probably got confused and was thinking about his colon.
  15. A small town in British Columbia is holding their second annual invitation event welcoming Americans to Canada. ‘More than double:’ huge visitor influx expected for second Nanaimo Infusion | NanaimoNewsNOW | Nanaimo news, sports, weather, real estate, classifieds and more The first event resulted in numerous USA nurses and doctors moving to Canada.
  16. From the outside looking in, Hungary's elections today, for all of the structural biases created to advantage Orban, looked freer and fairer than what I expect will happen with the mid-terms in the USA. The Incompetent-in-Chief will have federalized National Guards and ICE (stupidly because there is no issue with non-citizens voting in the USA) at polling stations to intimidate citizens. I expect the US Postal Service will be instructed to not prioritize mail-in ballots. And who knows what else to rig the election for the GOP> Anyways, off topic. Congratulations to the citizens of Hungary for voting enmass for the non-corrupt, non-Putin loving right-winger. Small victories are sometimes large.
  17. Viktor Orbán passed a law labeling gay people as pedophiles. He banned Budapest Pride. Orban made it a criminal offense to attend with €500 fines and organizers facing prison time. And when people showed up anyway, he let police use facial recognition to hunt them down at the parade. Last week J.D. Vance flew to Hungary to campaign for him. J.D. Vance stood next to Orban on camera and called him "a role model for the continent." Then he looked right into the cameras and said: "I'm here to help."
  18. It appears the coalescence of the left, center and right-wing around the right-wing candidate without a history of corruption (Peter Magyar) has won a massive (more than 2/3rds) victory in Hungary, and the extremist wight-wing candidate (Orban) has lost. I was a bit surprised that Orban quickly stepped up to acknowledge defeat. Hopefully that attitude holds. I fully expect our Incompetent-in-Chief to question the election results. With a 2/3rds majority Magyar's government can clean up the gerrymandering done by Orban, and also reform the equivalent of their supreme court which has been stacked with Orban loyalists.
  19. Could have been one of the bus loads of USA seniors who travel across the Canadian border to find more affordable medications in Canada. Birth control medication is provided free under the national Pharmacare plan (diabetes medications is also free). There's a brilliant idea - prevent unwanted pregnancies rather than having the State control women's bodies through extremist abortion bans.
  20. Does she believe? Does she not believe? I don't care. She the most irrelevant 1st Lady since before Eleanor Roosevelt. When history looks back on her it'll be a footnote - didn't she wear an offensive jacket?
  21. Not looking good for Tulsi either. I expect she's next.
  22. I find the Lincoln Project ads hit and miss. I know he's an adult and as an adult (and an anchor baby) he could/should be speaking out against his father's unhinged madness, and at the same time he's hardly responsible for the incompetence and evil intent of this regime.
  23. Melania signed off her letters to Maxwell with love and kisses. All of the people in this current regime are horrible people and an international embarrassment to the USA
