Well, it <could> be brilliant if they last  But, for the money I paid, I think it was worth the gamble. So, far-- I am impressed.  I dont have a name of the shop (they dont give you a written receipt for replicas-- and its all cash)... but this place is a luggage shop on the main floor that is on the same level as the entrance to the BTS National Stadium station.  It is a husband and wife that run the shop and it is one of the few 100% luggage shops in the mall (the others have some luggage, and other merchandise). I recently went to use my Rabbit card and was told it needed renewing. I protested (politely)  that it was barely a year since I renewed it after it's 7 year validity expired.  "Oh, it's all changed now -- renewal is annually".

The next day, I was free until late that evening when SB (my Indo sugar baby muscle boy) was to arrive from Jakarta. History is located very close walking distance from BTS National Stadium station. I wanted to buy a stored value Rabbit card to be able to access public transit easily. I tried to buy my Rabbit card at Phloen Chit BTS station, but apparently, I have a newer US Passport, that has more modern technology than older versions. Not all BTS stations can actually read these passports I was told. They nicely checked, and the National Stadium BTS station did have the special readers, so I bought a regular ticket, and went  to National Stadium station, and I bought a Rabbit card and added 600 THB to the card so I would be able to use it a lot. You have to make sure you bring your physical passport in order to buy the Rabbit card. (thanks to this forum, I saw a member share that tidbit).
I walked in the super hot March sun from National Stadium BTS to History of Massages which is just about 10 minutes walk from the station. i've visited BKK over 100 times since the mid 80s. I'd consider myself comfortably well off - i sold my business years ago and live well of property and other investments. The bars used to be teeming and relatively good value. But 400b for drinks is absurd imo. Sut with three or four boys, buy a couple of rounds, choose one or two to take off (expectations of 3k ea) and tip the others 200/300 ea and you've spaffed £300 to £350 by the time you've showered the spunk off your face

I would add that successful bars tend to have gross profits at about the 60 - 70% level. They would also have net profits at about the 10 - 15% level. Which was why the term "profit margin" and the figure of 30% seemed so odd.
The mention of moving to Soi Twilight was another odd thing, although @zombie spoke of it as rumours. There is no more Soi Twilight to move to; hasn't been for 6 or 7 years.

We have now survived the first year after the pandemic, which was not always easy; the many tourists who used to come stayed away for a long time.
