We don't know the story yet about the swimmers. But, if the manager of the gas station had his security pull a gun, IMHO, it is the same thing. I have been robbed at gun point 2 times in Brazil and another time by the Federal Police at a traffic stop during Carnival. I still go there as I love the place. But, I never reported the incidences to the police. Why? They are in on it!

Living in Thailand now, one of the things I would miss is the NBC powerpuff girls morning show (including Al Roker) talking about the Olympics. But, with USTVNOW, I can record the entire Olympics day and watch it at my leisure without staying up all night. I have found that the torrent sites suck since KickAss went down and I have yet to find as good of a replacement. But, I love USTV. It is 30 USD per month and totally worth it IMHO. I have a Roku and it is set with my account and I watch on my Roku each day. They offer a free month if you have never tried it and the Olympics are something you can't get on torrents.

When you find a guy you like, go to the hospital with him and both of you get tested. This is cheap in LOS and it will alleviate many of your worries.

I do! And, the same for Thailand. I just believe that people who like sexy boys should visit both places at least once to see the offerings. I can't tell you how many guys I have brought to Thailand who didn't want to come because "they weren't into Asians" but once they visited, the loved Thai guys and have come back again and again. Yes, that hotel is like the Welcome Plaza of Rio. LOL I stay at the Marriott. The rates can be from insane to wildly insane. I stayed at The Intercontinental Hotel for years but that changed brands. Hotels are just expensive in Rio and thus why so many do Airbnb

I'll say again, I love Brazil and I love Thailand. I never understand why someone must choose one or the other. Both are amazing. if i were into top muscle, well, Brazil is unbeatable. If I were into skinny fem boys, well, Thailand is unbeatable. I like twinks and have had luck in both places with them. Unlike Firecat, I don't mind spending more than a little time in a sauna looking for them. Firecat likes the apps to find guys. I hate them. I never get what I want or think I'm getting. Safety? I feel safe in Thailand. But, I don't go out drunk roaming the streets at 3AM. I feel safe in Brazil but I don't go out roaming into an area I don't know in the middle of the night. I lived in NYC in the 90's and it was pretty rough. I felt safe but I knew where to go and where not to go. For every place, there is a set of things you do to protect yourself. I try to do them. For boys, I have never felt unsafe in Brazil as the vast majority I meet in the saunas. I have taken some from the streets in the past with great success but I'll be the first to admit it was stupid. As Firecat will tell you, I've also wanted into a flavela or two looking for a special boy and again, that was stupid but I always came out on top (well, Marco came out on top when I found him but that is another story). I love the boys in Brazil and yes I do find twinks. I do not find a lot of very feminine twinks. But, there are some there. But, even the very masculine boys who you meet at the sauna will tell you first they are activo only and then when you tell them you are as well, they will say, "OK. I can be passivo." In all honest, I find the sex in Brazil 100 times more passionate and rocking than I do in Thailand. But, in Thailand I find the boys I want to stay with for years. I rarely find that in Brazil and while the sex is often not as great, it is a fair trade off IMHO. That said, everyone should try Brazil and Cuba and Columbia and Mexico. See what is there. See if you like or don't like. Then, go back to Thailand and enjoy.

Personally, I think the OP made clear in his first post that this thread was a comparison between Thailand and Brazil and the boys that inhabit both. To me, that puts it in the right forum.

The boys in Brazil are about the same as Thailand. If you wander out of Rio and Sao Paulo, even less. The big expense has always been the hotels. But, most of my friends now stay in AirBnB and love it. I would recommend it. Unless, you are OK with the high rates of the hotels like Marriott or Intercontinental. Both are smaller rooms and insanely pricey even in low season. You can find good hotels in Porto Alegre (Sheraton) and I got it for 100 USD a night last time I went. Great hotel and a mall next to it. I find twinks there all the time. But, I am patient and look for them. And, I tell them to find me friends. I have been quite successful there. For sex, Brazil is the best. For boyfriend experiences Thailand is the best. All types of boys can be found in both. The biggest difference I have found is all Brazil boys love 3 ways and groups and that is rare in Thailand. Just my opinion. BTW

Again, I disagree. I have been to 9 of 10 of the places on your list. I still think Rio's beach is the best of any of the others. You don't agree. Fine. But, that does not make it untrue for me. Santa Monica on the list. Vs. Rio? Come on.

IMHO, the best place in Pattaya. Good food. Good prices and amazing staff!

Know your audience! LOL This is a sex site. We admire beauty in all forms: mountains, beaches, muscles, etc. I think Rio is beautiful and the best beaches I know. I think Thailand has the best gay bars (for hookers) in the world. I think Paris has the best food. It is all relative to what you want. I want beaches, beauty and sex.

I have been to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Sydney, Perth, Italy and Ireland. I do agree that many places are beautiful. But, none have the beauty in the day and the beauty and accessibility of hot boys in the night like Rio. Sorry. It just doesn't happen in those other places like it does in Rio. I had fun in Sydney. But, I paid a great deal more than I do in Rio. So part of beauty may also be in the bargain.

That is why escorts do so well. Everyone has their own idea of beauty. For me, I have always said Rio was the most beautiful city I have seen. I like the beaches and the eye candy and the mountains and the food and the boys. So, for me, it is unparalleled. I'd also say Paris is the most beautiful city for architecture and New York is the most beautiful city for skylines. But, it is all relative to what you like.
