  1. I would love to see all drugs legalized across the globe. Prison populations would decrease and fun times would increase.
  2. This is an interesting statement to me. I agree with you. But, I am not sure talents is the right word. So much of hiring has to do with what a particular client is interested in. I had one friend in Thailand years back that I loved going to boy bars with as he and I NEVER picked the same boys. Some of you would hate my tattoo alpha males. Some would love them. I like that the "talents" the boys have is often so varied and it all depends on one customer. I knew one guy in LOS that would ask the boys if they had a Thai boyfriend and when they said yes, he moved on and did not tip them. I know others that are totally OK with that. But, every question the boys answer they answer knowing it may cost them a date or rent for that month. It is not an easy job!
  3. I had a friend who owned a very nice gay male escort agency in NYC. Rates for guys were 300 USD per hour 15 years ago. I also had female friends who worked for the female agencies and they made up to 5,000 USD per hour. Yes, there is a big discrepancy. Even in NYC there were superstars who always made money. One guy had a paid trip to Dubai for 6 months making over 2k per day for one hour of work. Again, that was not the norm. The norm was most had a few calls a week and were able to live a decent life and go to school or pursue acting or modeling. I am in agreement with Firecat on his arguments. He doesn't always say things in the nicest of ways. But, he is right in the discussion in this thread. At least from what I have witnessed with moneyboys in Thailand, USA, Brazil, Spain, Cuba, The Netherlands, Prague, and Canada.
  4. Thanks. I removed the link. Waiting to find out if the place is still open as they are advertising.
  5. The boys and I have been to this place many times in the last 2 weeks. It has everything we need to get an apartment ready. Today, we were at Homepro. It is a massive one and had everything we needed for some fix me up things and we bought a few more items for comfort. All in all, it was great and Homepro delivers tomorrow before 10AM. They said 4 days and I said no thanks and then they said how is tomorrow morning and I said yes. LOL The movie theater in this place is also great! It is worth the trip for me when I need something to take a taxi out there and find everything I want. Lunch at Ikea for meatballs!
  6. You convinced me! I got one today at Homepro. It was originally 14,900 baht but on sale for 11,000. It is a Delonghi. I am excited to use it.
  7. I stayed there once MANY years back. The Internet sucked (but typical of most hotels in Thailand back then). The bed was not comfortable and it was a bit noisy for me. But, I did like the location.
  8. Yummy! Thanks. I am going to look for one of these this weekend!
  9. Leave it to Australia to produce a gay themed TV show with hot swimmers. I just watched the first episode. Others say there is not much plot and the writing is not great. But, I loved every moment of it!

Yes, would love to hear more!
  11. Guys, I have to tell you that this site has amazing posters with a plethora of knowledge that is helpful not only to those new to traveling to gay Thailand but also to those of us that are veterans. Thank you all!
  12. Fantastic! Thank you.
  13. My apartment did not have an oven. So, I am considering getting a counter-top one. Anyone use this before? Any recommendations? I don't use the oven a great deal but want to from time to time. Esp. I make this great Cinnamon Bun in a Iron Skillet that is heavenly. Needs about 400 degrees F.
  14. I will really miss Hero. It was the one place I went consistently every trip to Bangkok. Rarely did a week go by where I wasn't there at least once or twice. Now that it is gone, I know there are other places that everyone likes. Which place would you say has the most boys available each day? Which place has the best rooms with showers inside? Which place has the hottest twinks? Which place has the hottest muscle guys? Which place has the best massage?
  15. Isn't that really what most of us do with our youth? I know I did. I don't begrudge the Thai boys for living life to the fullest in their youth. I know before I was 28 I made some really stupid decisions in my life. I even bought a 1965 Mustang Convertible that cost me about my entire salary for a year. (totally worth it) I think we often forget how much these boys are still growing and learning and although we (or at least I) have learned many lessons over the years and try to teach those that are younger, it all too often falls on deaf ears.
  16. The photos were pre-move in. LOL My office area looks great. And, the BF's office space is equally grand. But, now the apartment is shrinking even more in size.
  17. No, I knew. But, the sex was just too delicious! I am from NYC and an overnight there is 2,000 USD. So for me, I still thought I was getting a great deal. Like I said, I have learned a lot over the years. But, initially, I had high hopes.
  18. Lucky, I know you are a theater buff. Have you see this yet? I have not. But, it is on my list!
  19. Over the year I have purchased over 40 motorbikes for different boys. Yes, insane I know. But, it is the truth. Of all of these bikes only 3 of them kept them for long term as when the rent was due or money was needed, first came the gold and then came the motorbikes. I have not met that many boys that have their own motorbike in Pattaya or Bangkok. I know some that do and some that have leased bikes. Often the lease was given to them or they used all the money they made to put the down payment down and then all too often, they loose the bike because they can't keep up payments during low season. I use to give phones or bikes for Birthdays but have since stopped doing these things as I realized that they didn't stay where I wished them to stay and that was as a means of transportation when things got rough. I know of only a handful of boys who have cars and they are all older cars that is also a family car. We like to think the boys do well. But, in reality, they survive and only thrive when they make the right choices day in and day out. That is hard to do when they live the Thai way of "enjoy today and worry about tomorrow later." My first long term boy in Thailand (Firecat knows) was a great guy and for the 2 years he was with me he supported his brother and his 2 friends. They worried for little when he had my cash flowing. When it stopped, they had to work harder and life changed. One of them did well and helped the ex for many years. That is the way things go. It is not a great life unless they meet that someone special who really does want to change their lives for the better. Again, just my opinion and based on over 1,000 boys I have offed over the years.
  20. Anddy, yes, it is a terrace for sure. LOL There is an Index in Ekkamai area. I forgot exact location but they deliver so it was easy for us. I like Index but honestly bought very little from them as once I went to Ikea and they had all I needed and they deliver and install within 2 days. Perfect for me as I have little patience.
  21. I ended up paying 60k per month. But, there were tons of cheaper apartments in the area. I wanted one with a nice pool and nice gym and one less than 100 meters from the Skytrain and a Skytrain station that had an escalator going up. I also wanted a newer place that had a full-time doorman and security. Lastly, I wanted one with a nice balcony as one of my long term boys smoke and both of them love a balcony. I had several requirements and the realtor I chose picked out many for us to see. We spent 2 days looking a place in this area and Thong Lor. The lady that owned this one would not go down in the price even for a longer lease and in the end, I thought it was worth it for the balcony (the largest one I saw in any apartment).
  22. One of the pitfalls of getting a place so close to a popular Skytrain stop was a sacrifice in the size of the apartment. We ended up with something around 110 Meters. We found other apartments that were also 2 bedrooms but about 130-150 meters for the same price. But, we chose one that we liked near the Skytrain. It has been a bit hard to furnish as there was little space. Luckily, we found Ikea and have spent a good amount of time in Ikea and Index the last week. Finally, today, the last of our furnishings arrived and we are able to get organized. The BF wanted a computer desk and chair which we got at Ikea. I wanted a Kitchen Island Stand to hold my Nespresso and Microwave as there isn’t much counter space in the kitchen. After spending 2 years in the Middle East and not being able to purchase nice things very easily, I was thrilled to have the options that Thailand affords me. The thing I love about both Ikea and Index is that they both deliver and fast. Ikea delivers without 2 days all the time. It is a massive operation. We went to the store near Bangna (see thread on Ikea). Getting a new place here was also a breeze to get Internet set up. We requested one day and a couple of days later it was installed. But, in the meantime, I was able to use 12Call Internet from my phone and it was really fast. I got a 10G plan for the month and I think I paid about 700 baht. That was more than enough to do everything I need on the net. Being close to the Skytrain is great! I love being able to take it to Siam Paragon or downtown. Taking taxis is often a pain in the ass and much slower than the Skytrain. I really like the Ekkamai area. There are tons of restaurants and shops in the area. There is a movie theater about 5 minute walk from my apartment. There are an abundance of coffee shops and massages places. There is a Big C 5 minutes from the apartment and a good Index near as well. All in all, I am so glad I found the area. As for boys, Grindr and Jack’d have been good and I get quite a bit of guys offering to “visit” when I sign on. But, I have not been doing that yet as I have 2 live in guys that are very good to me. However, I am sure that when the newness of Bangkok wears off, I’ll meet a few local guys just for fun. Plus, I love a nice massage and release.
  23. I am not sure on this but if you go to the bottom of the forum, you should see a button called Themes. That should allow you to work again in the mobile version.
