  1. I ended up paying 60k per month. But, there were tons of cheaper apartments in the area. I wanted one with a nice pool and nice gym and one less than 100 meters from the Skytrain and a Skytrain station that had an escalator going up. I also wanted a newer place that had a full-time doorman and security. Lastly, I wanted one with a nice balcony as one of my long term boys smoke and both of them love a balcony. I had several requirements and the realtor I chose picked out many for us to see. We spent 2 days looking a place in this area and Thong Lor. The lady that owned this one would not go down in the price even for a longer lease and in the end, I thought it was worth it for the balcony (the largest one I saw in any apartment).
  2. One of the pitfalls of getting a place so close to a popular Skytrain stop was a sacrifice in the size of the apartment. We ended up with something around 110 Meters. We found other apartments that were also 2 bedrooms but about 130-150 meters for the same price. But, we chose one that we liked near the Skytrain. It has been a bit hard to furnish as there was little space. Luckily, we found Ikea and have spent a good amount of time in Ikea and Index the last week. Finally, today, the last of our furnishings arrived and we are able to get organized. The BF wanted a computer desk and chair which we got at Ikea. I wanted a Kitchen Island Stand to hold my Nespresso and Microwave as there isn’t much counter space in the kitchen. After spending 2 years in the Middle East and not being able to purchase nice things very easily, I was thrilled to have the options that Thailand affords me. The thing I love about both Ikea and Index is that they both deliver and fast. Ikea delivers without 2 days all the time. It is a massive operation. We went to the store near Bangna (see thread on Ikea). Getting a new place here was also a breeze to get Internet set up. We requested one day and a couple of days later it was installed. But, in the meantime, I was able to use 12Call Internet from my phone and it was really fast. I got a 10G plan for the month and I think I paid about 700 baht. That was more than enough to do everything I need on the net. Being close to the Skytrain is great! I love being able to take it to Siam Paragon or downtown. Taking taxis is often a pain in the ass and much slower than the Skytrain. I really like the Ekkamai area. There are tons of restaurants and shops in the area. There is a movie theater about 5 minute walk from my apartment. There are an abundance of coffee shops and massages places. There is a Big C 5 minutes from the apartment and a good Index near as well. All in all, I am so glad I found the area. As for boys, Grindr and Jack’d have been good and I get quite a bit of guys offering to “visit” when I sign on. But, I have not been doing that yet as I have 2 live in guys that are very good to me. However, I am sure that when the newness of Bangkok wears off, I’ll meet a few local guys just for fun. Plus, I love a nice massage and release.
  3. I am not sure on this but if you go to the bottom of the forum, you should see a button called Themes. That should allow you to work again in the mobile version.
  4. Welcome Surfside. Glad to have you here. I enjoyed the old Dreaded Ned's. Glad you made your way here. I called the store and they are still there but they don't do chairs. However, it was a good lead. Thank you!

  6. Amazing posts. I love savored each and every post and word. You have a true talent sir!
  7. abang, I think you miss the bigger picture. The world often copies Game of Thrones. If you watch the last season, you would know the women were taking over the world.
  8. I agree. But, the ones that keep coming back for more and more and that are gay, are not here to tour Siam Paragon over and over. There must be some reason they are here. Humm. Let me think. Yes. Sex is abundant. And, cheap.
  9. It wasn't totally full Firecat. There were only 9 boys living there with me full-time at that point. 2 for each bedroom and one for my bed. Of course the one that was lucky (unlucky) enough to get my bedroom was usually the favored one and got whatever the fuck he wanted. However, that is but a distant memory and the pool parties have subsided and the garden I furnished for the house was loved by the next renter.
  10. I have a great deal of friends in NYC who were escorts when they were younger. The simple truth is that the business is all about fucking. If you use an escort / moneyboy / hooker / prostitute don't fall in love and expect them to fall in love with you. It is a business for them and any relationship that starts with money will always be about money. Money is the thing that makes the world go round. It is the reason many come to Thailand. They can easily get in LOS what they can't in their own country. That is a semblance of a relationship with a younger guy. We all want to have love in our life and the boys want the same. Often, they are content just knowing that someone cares so much about them that they will forgo the problems that the relationship has to maintain that sense of being loved. My very long term boy knows that I love him. He knows that I am his rock. He knows that I want his happiness. He knows that when I buy him things that I expect him to take care of them. Often I am disappointed as he will sell for Mama but when that happens, he does not get anything like that item again. He has learned over the years that there are limitations and boundaries. When we were first together, I think I bought him at least 5 or 10 phones. At least 3 or 4 motorbikes. I showered him with everything I thought he desired. Instead, he just wanted to know I would not leave him for someone younger, cuter or fresh. When he became comfortable in the fact that I wanted him long term, his entire perception changed for the better. He still fucks up from time to time as do I. But, he knows that the fuck ups have a cost and they now come very rarely. The conversation in this thread has been truly wonderful to read. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Firecat knows a great deal about the moneyboy scene in Thailand as he has been around the block a few times. Vinapu is quickly making up ground on him and living his life wonderfully when he visits this great place. Others involved in this conversation have given me a lot to ponder and think about. For new people reading this thread, just know that paying the going rate is fine. Paying more is fine. Showering boys with gifts is fine. Being a cheap charlie isn't fine. But, like everything in this thread, that is just my opinion. Also, for those reading know that sometimes, not often, but sometimes you meet a boy that really changes you and helps you and is kind to you and will do anything he can do for you. That may not be love, but it is damn close and that experience is totally worth all the failed relationships ones has in this amazing place! So, in the end, a few gifts that were irrelevant to me, meant a great deal to him and his family. Now, life goes one. I wake up beside him each day. I laugh with him every day. And, when we go to bed at night, he always gives me a kiss and says, "thank you." Goodness, I love Thailand!
  11. LOL I totally agree!
  12. I loved this show last season. It was a bit of a mind fuck but, I really enjoyed it and the main character is sexy! Plus, I love Christian Slater!
  13. The Pope leans towards Hillary and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!" Hillary replied, "I seriously doubt that! With one little wave of your hand....Show me!" So the Pope backhanded her and knocked her off the stage!
  14. I love George Takei but his criticism of this was not needed. http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/star-trek-beyond-cast-defends-gay-sulu-against-george-takei-criticism-20160708
  15. I think this means your number of likes have broken the system!
  16. My TV shows are normally based on a book. Isn't that the same same?
  17. I think I have a right to post just like you do. I think the great thing about this site is that everyone has a right to post and very few times over the years have posts been deleted or removed. We all seem to be able to get along and move along when a topic is of no interest to us. That said, you seem to have enjoyed the conversation about leather. Are you sure we didn't meet at last year's Folsom Street Festival?
  18. So sorry MsAnn. The issue for many months has been the software Invision. They come out with a new update every few days and it is very had to keep up with them. I truly regret the choice in investing with their company as they can't seem to get things fixed. As soon as a good stable release is out, we will not upgrade to the newest version unless a security issue. For long posts, I always type in a editor and then past into here. I have done that for every site for many years. I know that doesn't solve your problem today, but it might be less frustrating than having a good post disappear.
  19. Shower 10 minutes Foreplay 5 minutes Sex 10 minutes Shower 10 minutes 35 minutes until out the door and I can get back to reading my book. If the boy is really good, the shower can meet all 4 of the requirements and he can be in and out in under 15 minutes. The good part of that is I get to read an extra few chapters that night. I'm happy and he gets paid and can go back to bar for another off.
  20. "Keep the topics related to information on Thailand." This is the topic information posted on main forum page for this forum. We did discuss years ago where posts that are not gay but Thailand related should go and we decided it was best in this forum. I am sure the thread is still here somewhere. I don't see an issue with posting anything about Thailand in this forum. The Beer Bar is for topics outside of Thailand. This was the forum designated for anything Thailand related. I know many only like gay topics but as I am a very masculine man, I like other topics as well. But, even my uber gay friends don't like talk about Ladyboys in this forum and I still say that is appropriate as well. Me, I am more along the lines of if I don't like a topic, I don't open it. Unless I see it has a lot of postings and then I go in and see what it is about. Sex and Thai boys always get my interest. But, so do hotels, travel blogs, etc. I am one of those gay men who love variety. But, not everything has to be gay for me to enjoy it. For example, my boyfriend is here from Issan and he has his girlfriend with him this weekend. (so not gay) I am very non gay this weekend as I don't know if she knows he has been with me for over 10 years and I need more than just a bodyguard.
  21. bkkguy, thank you. Great information.
  22. I have 2 boys that live with me and they both have IPhones. Both paid 1/2 of the cost of them and they have taken care of them for years and years and upgraded every few years. IPhone is not needed by boys or by us. But, it sure is nice to have.
  23. I should have clarified. I am looking for a leather repair dealer that will take a gay man's chair who lives in Bangkok and repair it.
  24. I have an office chair that I love that I have had in storage for a bit and I need to get some leather repair. Does anyone know of anyone who does this? It is OK if in Bangkok or Pattaya as I'm willing to travel to get it fixed (or pay for them to travel to me). Thanks.
