A good friend of mine, Michael, does great work in Bangkok for orphan kids. He and his friends have been working on some efforts for the victims of floods. Please read his message below and watch the Youtube video and help if you can. Dear friends, the flood is all over the news and giving Thailand a hard time. I've become a bit tired of the politics and finger-pointing involved, as my favorite columnist Voranai said: ''Intellectuals fill the sandbags, while buffaloes make the plans" In the future we can expect more and even worse floods thus we've decided to establish a flood response group based on a simple yet powerful idea named: "Wipe the Tide". It is an initiative whereby we foreigners and locals invade Bangkok's major traffic intersections to wipe the windshields of cars. Our first campaign had a stunning impact, with only 9 ppl. (incl.3 camera men) raising over 27,000 Baht in less than two hours!! Check it out: It was great fun and the personal exchange with people from all walks of life was an incredible experience and I wonder how much we can achieve with 10 or 20 times as many people and twice the time!? Thus, we need your help!! If you're interested please read the details for the upcoming "wipe the tide" campaign: http://bangkokvangua.../wipe-the-tide/ and mobilize as many of your friends as possible!! I know it sounds strange but Thai people seem to donate more readily to foreigners wiping their wind shields thus we're looking to mobilize the expat community but we don't exclude Thai, it should be mixed. We need to show Thailand that we care, regardless our color red or yellow, our social status or nationality and that we all get our hands on when Thailand and its people need us. Feel also free to join our community and let's show up in great force for a good purpose! http://www.facebook....209254372476047 Please contact me here on FB, via email: bangkokvanguards@gmail.com or call 085-839218 Thanks for your support Michael http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9ffgg78qls

First time I heard that term. Thanks. I think there are many of us here who resemble that remark. Hello. My Name is Oz. I am a Slore! (first night of 12 steps)

I saw Three Musketeers over the weekend. I thought it was just OK. By just OK, waiting for Netflix or ITunes is advisable. No real eye candy. Not a good story. Not great graphics. Not great anything. But, I was bored and had a cute date. So, it was OK.

titubant \TICH-oo-buhnt\, noun: A disturbance of body equilibrium in standing or walking, resulting in an uncertain gait and trembling. Byron did something of the kind in Don Juan; and the world at large is still quivering and titubant under the shock of his appeal. -- W. E. Henley, "The Secret of Wordsworth," The Pall Mall Magazine, Volume 30, 1903 Sir Oran's mode of progression being very vacillating, indirect, and titubant; enough so, at least, to show that he had not completely danced off the effects of the Madeira. -- Thomas Love Peacock, Melincourt, Volume 1 Titubant derives from the Latin titubātiōn- meaning a staggering, equivalent to titubāt, past participle of titubāre to stagger + -iōn-.

Two Trees and a Woodpecker: Two tall trees, a birch and a beech, are growing in the woods. A small tree begins to grow between them, and the beech says to the birch, 'Is that a son of a beech or a son of a birch?' The birch says he cannot tell, but just then a woodpecker lands on the sapling. The birch says, 'Woodpecker, you are a tree expert. Can you tell if that is a son of a beech or a son of a birch?' The woodpecker takes a taste of the small tree and replies, 'It is neither a son of a beech nor a son of a birch. It is, however, the best little piece of ash I have ever poked my pecker into.'

For anyone who does video editing Firewire has been a required necessity. Now, Thunderbolt will be. It is not for users like me who don't need that fast speed for most things, but for high end users, it is required. Apple builds things for these users and has done a great job at capturing the video editors market. As for cloud space, we will wait and see. I love it. I have no issues storing information on clouds and think companies are moving in this direction. I just hired a new hosting company for a group I am consulting with in USA. They needed a high speed server for their business. Guess what they got? A cloud server. It cost more. Will deliver higher speeds to the world for the video needs. I don't drink Kool Aid and Jim Jones is not someone I would follow. But, I do love Apple products and that is after purchasing almost every model they have made. Their computers are better, faster, stronger and I love my 3 year warranty. -
I don't know who you are referring to but any owner of a gogo bar that does not read these boards is a poor businessman IMHO. It would seem logical to me to read all the boards at least one a week to feel the vibe of the community as well as to see if comments were made about their bar. But, I know most owners don't participate in the forums and most don't even read them. I guess that is why most are willing to sell bars when they can get out.

Great video at Apple HQ. Thank you for posting that.

Prices in Montreal are now 20 a dance and I have never met a guy from the bars do did not do privates. They would go after work or before if they like you but all up to them. I always went with a gaggle of boys from NYC and a table of cute boys and they all wanted to be in the party. Taboo was my fav and loved it. The owner fucked this up and it is no longer. Stock and Campus are still open as is Adonis but I think Adonis has a new name.

Well, I grew up in USA and we all know America invented the English language. I am not sure why there is even a debate. The Civil War was about which version of English we were going to send back over to Europe and GB. The north won and therefore our southern bells stayed stateside when we went to teach the rest of the world how to speak. I have still not recovered from this and wish the world would speak and act more like the true American's, the southerners. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZmMwP5bELE

One of the reasons I don't stay out late in gogo bars is that the later the night gets the louder the music gets. I hate it. I am not sure why owners don't see that customers hate the loud music and while the boys love it, there must be a middle ground.

I disagree with you both. I see the demise of hard disks on the horizon. Apple is THE innovator. They are moving to the Cloud. They are moving in that direction with their ITunes, Apps, etc. Hell, the Air does not even had a disk drive. Lets revisit this thread in a few years and see how far they are able to push this idea. IMHO, hard drive space is going to be less meaningful for the computer user and cloud storage is going to be more important. For me, I have Cloud space that I use 100G account and have more all my important documents there. It really does free up my hard disk and makes my items available anywhere I travel. -
My first BF after "coming out" was Israeli. My second one was Brazilian. My Third long term BF was Filipino. It was with this last one that I started to like Asian guys. He and I would go to the Web in NYC and I started to really get attracted to Asian guys. At that time, I was traveling to Montreal often for the strip clubs and every single person I met told me to go to Thailand. Well, the BF and I went to Brazil for a month or two and loved it. Shortly after the trip, we broke up and I decided to try Thailand. I loved it from the first get go. I met a lots of great guys and had a good time in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket. But, I hated Pattaya and vowed never to return to that city. On my next trip (less than 2 months after the first) I was staying for 2 months and stayed a month in Bangkok before I decided to give Pattaya another try and met a boy on my first night that stayed with me for a long time. It was for him that I stayed in Pattaya for so many trips. I guess I was always attracted to Asian guys but I am also attracted to Black, Latin and some white boys. But, Latin and Asian tend to get my juices flowing faster than anyone. Being in Los Angeles for the winter, I have hooked up with several guys. All have been non money encounters and in each one I was thinking of my guys back in LOS. So, I guess I am now maybe officially a rice queen or at least a gay Thailand lover!

Fascinating article on just how much the world's technology industry is dependent on Thailand. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-20124201-64/hard-drives-could-get-scarce-apple-analysts/?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-20

I get it now - costs in Rio for tourists
TotallyOz replied to ihpguy's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Yes, I am glad you are feeling better and getting back to normal activity. Happy Birthday to the BF. Your perspective on Rio is always unique as I think you live there like a Brazilian and not a tourist. You know the ins and outs of what to do and what not to do and it is wonderful to have someone with your knowledge on the board. To those that don't know him, not only is he so knowledgeable, he is always willing to lend a helping hand to others. For me, he has in so valuable in recommendations and advice in helping me eventually line up a life in Brazil. I don't think I've ever met someone who was so passionate about Brazil as well as had the same interests as I do and so willing to help an outsider find his way in unknown territories of the Brazilian government, taxes and apartment hazards. Your kindness does not go unnoticed and I hope that good karma goes back your way! I hope your special night with your special guy goes on all night! Cheers! -
Having spent time with him in Brazil, I think his post count on this site does not even compare to his conquests for one week in Porto Alegre. I didn't use the word slut, I was just saying.....

Congrats! That is great! Your contributions are appreciated. It is such a great feeling to me to see so many posters who are amazing posting often on the site! Thank you!
