I love Firefox but have been using Chrome a bit now and again to see what it does. I like it. It is faster than Firefox but still has a long way to go to catch up IMHO. There is a new Chrome Event on Dec 7. From Wired: You may be able to buy your nieces and nephews some Chrome apps for the holidays this year. We just received this invitation from Google to attend a Chrome-centric event Tuesday. It arrived in our e-mail inboxes early Friday afternoon. Our guess is this will mark the public debut of the much-anticipated Chrome Store — Google’s directory where users can browse and install Chrome extensions, web apps and downloadable apps that run in the browser. The “store for web apps” opened up to developers in August. And Chrome 8, which arrived Thursday, is the first version of Google’s browser with the ability to plug in to the Chrome Store — although, at this point, there’s nothing there yet to install. It’s likely that could change Tuesday. Unless of course Google is going to start selling HTML5 Christmas ornaments or hardware-accelerated menorahs. Engadget, citing an unnamed source, is speculating the event will be used to launch a laptop running Chrome OS. Of course, the event could see the arrival of both some hardware and the store you can browse to fill it up. “Installable web apps” may sound like a contradiction in terms. After all, don’t web apps get served to a client from a web server? Well, yes, there’s that kind, and then there’s the kind you download and install. Google describes an installable web app as “a normal website with a bit of extra metadata.” The app is packaged, then downloaded and installed by the user, where it runs in the browser (online or off) and can access local storage. The excitement around this new software-distribution model has of course exploded ever since the iTunes Store and the Android Marketplace proved it works well for native apps on mobile devices. Now others are shifting the model to cloud-based services built in web standards that run in the browser. Mozilla, which makes the Firefox browser, is also developing its own store for installable web apps based on its nascent Open Web Applications platform. http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010/12/chrome-store-possibly-launching-dec-7/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wired%2Findex+%28Wired%3A+Index+3+%28Top+Stories+2%29%29

Hillary Clinton: State Department Likely Last 'Public' Post
TotallyOz posted a topic in The Beer Bar
My favorite Democrat (other than Dennis Kucinich) says that the Secretary of State is most likely her last position in public office. Most likely. From NPR: Hillary Clinton, who for a time in 2007 and 2008 looked like she would be the first woman to be the presidential nominee of one of the two major political parties, indicated Friday that her current job as the U.S.' chief diplomat would likely be her last public post. She made the statement while answering a student's question during an official visit to Manama, Bahrain. Reuters reported: `I think I'll serve as secretary of state as my last public position and then probably go back to advocacy work, particularly on behalf of women and children.'' It was the first time Clinton has spoken so directly about leaving public service, where she has been a dominant figure inDemocratic circles for two decades. Notice that Clinton wasn't exactly Shermanesque here. Sounds likes she left the door ajar by using "probably." http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2010/12/03/131792137/hillary-clinton-state-department-likely-her-last-public-post -

Seeing that Charles Manson had a phone while in prison is very disturbing. I still remember the days when the trial was going on and I think it was my first loss of innocence. IMHO, anyone who is in prison should be there to be either rehabilitated or punished. In either case, the use of all cell phones should be blocked. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/03/AR2010120306793.html

Though most Apple fanatics in Thailand already have their hands on the iPad thanks to the widely known "gray market" or overseas shopping trips, as of today the popular tablet is now officially on sale in Apple stores nationwide. So what if the iPad is only hitting Apple shelves here eight months after it was first launched in the United States. It's the perfect gift to surprise dad with on Father's Day this Sunday. Prices for the iPad are as follows: iPad with WiFi: 16GB -- Bt15,900, 32GB

There is a new beer bar that is doing construction on the old Villa Rouge / Kaos building. I have been told it is going to be a beer bar and not a go go bar. The building has signs of construction going on and they had work crews there today. It is about time that this place got an occupant and I hope that it will liven up the lights on that Soi. I am looking forward to seeing the new building and what the owners are going to do with it.
-
I went to Nice Boys in Soi Sunee last night to have a drink with some friends and the place was packed with all the seats full and boys being offed left and right. The guys on stage were cute and active and kept the audience entertained. It was a very lively group. This is one of the better run places in the area and there were NO signs of any underage at all in the place. It looks like high season has arrived for some venues.
-
Many of the shop owners were upset that the owners gave them a sudden increase in rent yesterday and they had protest signs letting people know of the issue. The police were called in to bring calm to the situation. It is sad that many of these guys have waited for high season to be able to pull in a profit and just when they thought they would be able to make some money, rents were suddenly increased.

They have closed the doors and are packing up their stuff calling it quits. Apparently, they were not able to make a go of things in that area.

Xmarks Lives: LastPass Buys Downtrodden Bookmark-Syncing Service ust when we all thought we’d never see it again, the cross-browser bookmark syncing service Xmarks has received a life-saving injection. The company has been acquired by LastPass, maker of a cross-browser password manager and form filler add-on. The deal was announced Thursday, and terms were not disclosed. Xmarks will live on as a freemium service. The initial cross-browser syncing tool you’re already familiar with will be free, but users will be encouraged to upgrade to a paid subscription to unlock more advanced features. It’s the same model employed by LastPass for its own Premium version of its (otherwise free) password-syncing service. Xmarks Premium will be offered for $1 per month ($12 per year) and it comes with some new features like apps for the iPhone and Android phones, and technical support. You will also be able to bundle the premium offerings from LastPass and Xmarks together for $20 per year. There’s already an iPhone app for Xmarks, and the company just recently released an Android app, too. Xmarks says anyone currently using the iPhone app can continue to use it without upgrading to the premium service, but they will have to buy in to the $12 per year plan to get future upgrades. It looked like curtains for Xmarks in September, when the company announced it would shut down its service in early 2011. Apparently, there’s no money in a free bookmark syncing service, and the company was facing new competition from the cloud-based syncing systems being built into Firefox and Chrome. Even though Xmarks one-ups those built-in single-browser services by syncing bookmarks across all your browsers, it couldn’t stay afloat. The service has some 4.5 million users, and there was an outcry when Xmarks announced the shutdown. Later, the company asked its fans if they would be willing to pay a subscription fee to keep Xmarks alive. Over 30,000 of them pledged to do so, and that was enough to attract the attention of LastPass. The two companies will continue to operate under independent brands, though they may merge everything later. So, it turns out this dark story of cloud computing had a silver lining after all. http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010/12/xmarks-lives-lastpass-buys-downtrodden-bookmark-syncing-service/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wired%2Findex+%28Wired%3A+Index+3+%28Top+Stories+2%29%29

Russia, Qatar win race to host World Cups as FIFA spreads its vision
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
From the articles read online, they poured cash into this and are going to build technology that will ensure the games also produce technology that will aid and assist 3rd world countries. It looks like our dependence on their oil payed off for them. As we transition to electric vehicles and more cars have higher MPG, it is the countries like Qatar and UAE that will be ready for the next generation. I was really hoping the USA would get the games but I should have known that would not happen. -
I was a bit surprised by the FIFA's decision on the next 2 hosts after Brazil for the World Cup. This is the most prestigious event in Sports. Congrats to Russia and Qatar. From CNN: Russia and Qatar will host soccer's biggest tournament, the FIFA World Cup, for the first time in 2018 and 2022 respectively. Russia headed off 1966 host England and joint presentations from Spain-Portugal and Holland-Belgium in Thursday's vote at FIFA headquarters in Switzerland. Qatar won the right to host the 2022 tournament ahead of bids from the United States, South Korea, Japan and Australia. Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin decided against attending the ceremony in Zurich, but his deputy Igor Shuvalov was present to accept the first successful bid from Eastern Europe. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/football/12/02/football.world.cup.2018.2022/index.html?hpt=T2

What is the Most Escorts you have done in one Day?
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
I would think Sauna Boys do count. I would think both anal and oral count. Touching and playing isn't really sex IMHO. But, that said, I had 40 boys for my 40th birthday but it was a Bukkake party and I did suck a few of them but not all of them so I didn't count that. I had one boy in Rio that I adored and I would see him as soon as I came to the sauna and then he and I would take 4 or 5 other boys into the room and take turns fucking them. I loved watching his big (over 10 inches) dick fuck these guys and was happy and content to watch this 100 times a day (if I could have afforded it.) My dick couldn't keep up the strength and would take him to my room every night for rest and relaxation. -
I have a boy I have known for a long time approach me tonight and ask me to borrow 3k baht to pay rent. I have been with him on many occasions and always enjoyed his company. I know he does not have a steady Farang. He is also someone that has never asked me for a tip or to borrow anything. I have a policy never to lend money to friends. However, this was a sex partner and I wasn't sure what to say when he asked. I asked him to think about it. The more I thought about it the more I thought it was not a big deal for me as I was going to see him 2 times this week anyway and I told him I would advance him the money from our next 2 short times. He said that was good and appreciated the money. I don't know if he will take a runner and disappear or not but I highly doubt it. Even if he does, I didn't think the money was going to hurt me in the long run and it is someone I would have given money to this week anyway. Have you ever let a bar boy borrow money? If so, was it paid back? Or, did you just expect that it was giving them money?

I have friends that travel and try to get in as many guys in one day as possible. They then return to their "other life" and will go months without sex. Some try to make sure they make up for it when they have the opportunity. What is the most guys you have had sex with (paid) in one day? (24 hours)

LOL I was only teasing. But, thank you for using the word curmudgeon.

How is it more Gay the Gay Paris?

Here is the word for this week: weal \WEEL\, noun: 1. Well-being, prosperity, or happiness. 2. A raised mark on the surface of the body produced by a blow. 3. (Obsolete:) the state or body politic. Our difference of opinion amounts to this, that you make the mainspring self-interest, while I suppose that interest in the common weal is bound to exist in every man of a certain age of achievement. -- Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina The Prime Minister's recent call on physicians to be more mindful about the health needs of the poor may have come from a genuine concern for the weal of the large swathes of people who fall under that head. -- Nerun Yakub, "Calling on physicians to perform better," Financial Express, October, 2010 Weal shares the Old English root wela with welfare and a host of other English words. The ultimate source in Proto-Indo-European is wel-, which is also the ancestor of words related to will.

Personally, I prefer the Kamagra the best. But, I have friends that swear by Cialis. Since these things are all pretty cheap in LOS, what is your preference and why?

I have passed Pook Bar so many times that last night I wanted to stop in for a drink. The bar is very well done with tons of dancing ladyboys and lots of customers. The drink prices are cheaper than any of the gay bars. There was no pressure to buy the gals a drink. The ladyboys seemed to be having fun and loved dancing and showing off. All in all, I would say there are about 40 plus ladyboys there last night. They have raised platforms that you can see from the road and the place is very comfortable to just sit and relax. http://pookbar.com

I went to 7 bars last night in Boyztown. Out of the 7, there was fewer than one guy I was willing to off. The only bar that I went to that had boys on stage and appearing to enjoy dancing was Happy Place. It was also the only one I went into with customers. The rest of the bars were dismal, sad and depressing. I did not go into any of the bars on the main road in Boyztown as they had a party going on and there was a fee to get inside. The chairs look sparely filled the 3 times I looked inside to see the show area. I wonder when they have a party like this why they have no one intelligent enough to really advertise it on all the boards? Why do the bar owners in this area avoid the gay Thailand boards? Why do organizers of these events spend time to organize an extravaganza and yet are so poor at promoting it? If it were me, I'd be using even means necessary to promote these events and that includes using every message board. While it may not bring in thousands of new people, it would let members who are interested in the events know they are happening. IMHO, they do a piss poor job at advertising all these events. The same can really be said for most bars in Pattaya. As far as the bars go last night, the doormen were anxious to get me inside but I didn't stay more than 5 minutes in any bar as there were not only no superstars but no decent looking guys at all. Happy Place was the only bar that I did enjoy the time I spent there. The rest were a total waste of time.
