Here is the word for this week: weal \WEEL\, noun: 1. Well-being, prosperity, or happiness. 2. A raised mark on the surface of the body produced by a blow. 3. (Obsolete:) the state or body politic. Our difference of opinion amounts to this, that you make the mainspring self-interest, while I suppose that interest in the common weal is bound to exist in every man of a certain age of achievement. -- Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina The Prime Minister's recent call on physicians to be more mindful about the health needs of the poor may have come from a genuine concern for the weal of the large swathes of people who fall under that head. -- Nerun Yakub, "Calling on physicians to perform better," Financial Express, October, 2010 Weal shares the Old English root wela with welfare and a host of other English words. The ultimate source in Proto-Indo-European is wel-, which is also the ancestor of words related to will.

Personally, I prefer the Kamagra the best. But, I have friends that swear by Cialis. Since these things are all pretty cheap in LOS, what is your preference and why?

I have passed Pook Bar so many times that last night I wanted to stop in for a drink. The bar is very well done with tons of dancing ladyboys and lots of customers. The drink prices are cheaper than any of the gay bars. There was no pressure to buy the gals a drink. The ladyboys seemed to be having fun and loved dancing and showing off. All in all, I would say there are about 40 plus ladyboys there last night. They have raised platforms that you can see from the road and the place is very comfortable to just sit and relax. http://pookbar.com

I went to 7 bars last night in Boyztown. Out of the 7, there was fewer than one guy I was willing to off. The only bar that I went to that had boys on stage and appearing to enjoy dancing was Happy Place. It was also the only one I went into with customers. The rest of the bars were dismal, sad and depressing. I did not go into any of the bars on the main road in Boyztown as they had a party going on and there was a fee to get inside. The chairs look sparely filled the 3 times I looked inside to see the show area. I wonder when they have a party like this why they have no one intelligent enough to really advertise it on all the boards? Why do the bar owners in this area avoid the gay Thailand boards? Why do organizers of these events spend time to organize an extravaganza and yet are so poor at promoting it? If it were me, I'd be using even means necessary to promote these events and that includes using every message board. While it may not bring in thousands of new people, it would let members who are interested in the events know they are happening. IMHO, they do a piss poor job at advertising all these events. The same can really be said for most bars in Pattaya. As far as the bars go last night, the doormen were anxious to get me inside but I didn't stay more than 5 minutes in any bar as there were not only no superstars but no decent looking guys at all. Happy Place was the only bar that I did enjoy the time I spent there. The rest were a total waste of time.

There is an application for the IPhone and other mobile devices I saw in use for the first time last night. It is called Grindr. It logs you on and shows the closest distance to other Grindr users. It was accurate within about 15 feet. Pretty impressive IMHO. But, there are few that were on last night.

BANGKOK, Nov 27 -- A high-speed train project, a planned joint investment project between Thailand and China, which will link between the Thai capital and Nong Khai province bordering Laos is expected to be completed in late 2015, said Supoj Saplom, permanent secretary for Thai Transport Ministry. Mr Supoj said after a meeting of the working committee on Friday that the meeting had discussed on preparing a draft of memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the joint venture project. The draft is expected to be ready in early January next year and forward to the cabinet for its consideration later the same month before it is submitted to the parliament for its consideration and approval in February. The parliamentary process is expected to be completed in March while construction could start in 2011 and furnished in late 2015, Mr Supoj said. Initially, the Beijing investment on the project between the two countries will be on a 50-50 per cent basis while the Thai finance ministry is responsible on investment details of the project. I have seen Lucky Plate numbers in the Middle East go for over 20 Million USD. The idea seems to be catching on. Here in Thailand, 9 is always a lucky number. In a recent auction of numbers in Chon Buri, here is an interesting article about the sale of numbers. 301 lucky number plates were auctioned at the weekend in Bangsaen. The numbers, containing mainly the digits 8 and 9, generated an income of more than 30 million baht, the highest bid being 1,100,000 baht for the number กษ (Kor Sor) 9999. Sriracha, 28 November 2010 (PDN): On the 27th and 28th November the auction of lucky number plates for seven seated vehicles took place at the Tide Resort Hotel, Bangsaen, Chon Buri. The 8th lucky registration auction was chaired by Chonburi governor Mr. Wichit Chatphaisan and Mr. Thianchai Jongphien from the Department of Land Transport along with his team. Attending the auction were many local people, businessmen and local politicians. http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/2010/11/28/bangsaen%E2%80%99s-8th-lucky-vehicle-registration-number-auction/

I was searching for a weekend trip to Bangkok and found a new entry I had not seen before. It is a new Crown Plaza in Bangkok. It is replacing the old Pan Pacific Hotel. It is supposed to close to Siam Paragon. Here is the info I have found. Anyone else heard about this new IHG property. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/cp/1/en/hotel/bkkcp

I had a friend tell me that they had a nice staff and I went by last night to check it out for myself. Sure enough, they had a very sexy group of guys and from the looks of it I'll be headed back there tonight to see if the one that caught my eye last night is still there. I was going to take him last night but decided that I needed one more day or rest and recovery before I dive back into bringing anyone to my apartment.

Yaya Bar in Sunee Plaza has started to get ready for the holiday season with a Xmas tree and some lights. It was quite cute and Ya says that Christmas is his favorite holiday. I can't wait to see what the month of December has in store for Yaya bar!

I was in Sunee last night when one of the mamasans told me they had new boys at Nice Boys. I went in and had drinks and there were 5 brand new boys that were from the North that were in the bar looking for customers. The additions were nice and very cute looking. I am not sure if this means that the buses are going to start coming and filling up the bars or not. But, I know of at least one happy customer last night.

I basically believe the medical insurance industry should be nonprofit, not profit-making. There is no way a health reform plan will work when it is implemented by an industry that seeks to return money to shareholders instead of using that money to provide health care. Diane Feinstein

I left my humble abode last night for the first time in weeks. I am slowly building up more strength. Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement.
