  1. Only rarely can you get a guy into a tourist class hotel. Generally finding a suitable guy is easier than finding a venue. Sometimes al fresco is the easiest option.
  2. Forgive the cynic in me, and it is nothing personal, however reduced to it’s bare bones and in abstract……. A Farang newly retired to Pattaya meets a Rent Boy, who becomes his Fuck Buddy, who becomes his Pimp, who becomes his Boy Friend. Sounds like Boy Friend, not in the first bloom of youth, starts to become financially dependent on his Farang. Farang decides to break up with Boyfriend but as a breakup gift provides Boyfriend with wherewithal to set up his own business. The business is selling fruit salad which requires the boyfriend, who likes to party until dawn on Jomtien beach, to get up early to purchase fruit in the market and then be in attendance to run the business. After a few weeks of the business(which is not going well) being set up Boyfriend persuades Farang that perhaps their relationship may still have a future after all so is ready to walk away from the business for a few weeks to be with Farang. Farang meanwhile is putting time, and probably more money sooner or later, into correcting the Boyfriends mismanagement of the business. This reads like quite a lot of similar stories, and the chances of this working out well, in any of the relevant areas, are small. But I wish you luck. My early relationship with my Thai partner also had a poor prognosis, but amazingly we are still together and happy after thirty years! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. And Kudos to those who have helped with the QR codes. But honestly what person who was motivated to/able to run their own business wouldn’t check the message to which their customers are linking.
  3. Having worked for months at a time in both Morocco and Tunisia I would say that lots of middle class locals(mostly males) enjoy a drink on occasion, while the lower class(males principally) may not normally do so(cost?), but will if the opportunity arises, but may not hold their drink very well.
  4. As an aperitif before you serve dinner....
  5. I didn't quote the bible. I provided a link to a chapter and verse that demonstrates, as the bible significantly predates the creation of Russia, that your homely "He sees a speck in someone else's eye, but does not see a log in his own" is not an original saying from your own culture at all but is simply regurgitating the bible's "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" We could say that it is Moses is quoting from the bible that he helped create. Whether the bible is true or not is irrelevant. Although as you don't think it is true it's strange that you should choose a Nom de Plume from it. Although perhaps it played to your vanity to take the role of the precursor of god(Putin?!). You could have called yourself Bilbo Baggins after all!
  6. He enjoys the shoving.
  7. Not true! You even parrot back to us the Kremlin PR that you have read.
  8. Now you are claiming that the bible is based on Russian sayings!! I have heard it all now. Try Matthew 7:3-5.........
  9. As it is now three threads started over a short space of time to advertise his business, and all a bit deceptive in their approach, I would call it spam. Since the OP, despite advertising on this forum, doesn't have the nous or interest in actual customers to respond to queries(not mine) on the threads he originates he wouldn't appear to paying much attention to the details of his business. Not really a recommendation for anyone to become a customer.
  10. Anthrax update from Bangkok Post https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/3018207/anthrax-death-toll-stays-at-1-but-98-others-still-at-risk-in-thailands-northeast
  11. Thanks Alexch. Interesting report. Where did you stay in Monastir so that you could accommodate these guys?
  12. With apologies to bkkmfj2648 for the diversion to Cambodian History. The confusion over the welcome that the Khmer Rouge received on entry to Phnom Penh was created by: Some residents thought this group were the Khmer Rouge and that they were more benevolent than expected. This whole period is covered in an excellent film, The Killing Fields, that was shot in Thailand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fall_of_Phnom_Penh
  13. Even better profit. 3.5 x 8 = 28. (Not 24)
  14. Hope your trip goes better going forward........ Very good sound proofing in those Meridien rooms.
  15. That may be so, but there is no reason that "a truth" can't come out of the dialogue. I did apologise for being pedantic!
  16. The fact that it was home made doesn't necessarily mean that the robber made it nor that if he did he was especially skillful. Sorry to be pedantic but "Home Made" guns are not that complicated and are in quite wide circulation in Thailand. I think I read that Thailand has the highest rate of gun possession in South East Asia.
  17. Keith was referring to the "Thai version" as opposed to the Cambodian or Malaysian versions.
  18. That car is red?! I clearly need my eyes testing.
  19. The quality of their wines are great, but unfortunately on my last flight first the champagne ran out, then the red wine ran out and finally the white wine ran out. Their staff seemed a bit ragged. Perhaps they were drinking it! First World problems I know.
  20. From experience a few years ago I would walk in the early evening on the east bank from the Pavilion Winter Hotel north along the corniche towards the Karnak temple although you shouldn't have to go that far. This is the area where Felucca guys are looking to arrange trips. If you see someone you like ask him if he can take you to Banana Island, or he may suggest a trip there.
  21. It took three years of research to discover this!
  22. This made me laugh! A most interesting thread and thank you to all for their interesting contributions.
  23. That's interesting, I also understood that it was a no go area for non registered guests. It has been owned by the same family since opening over fifty years ago, and I understood they dictated this policy.
