These covenants provide cover for owners/operators in case of issues. ie they required members not to do this. There is then less onus on them to apply the rules. The system works, a bit like the laws on prostitution in Thailand, no need to mess with it.

Trump Solves Thai-Cambodian Conflict - Or Does He?
khaolakguy replied to PeterRS's topic in The Beer Bar
An interesting if rather dry article on the potential impact of this conflict and who has most to lose if it continues or expands. https://www.specialeurasia.com/2025/12/13/cambodia-thailand-china-clashes/ -
Khun Bon still has businesses in Paradise, or did when I was last there two or three years ago. The busiest run by his very handsome and charming boyfriend. Not so sure about Tangmo, who was always reputed to be harsh on his staff.

Ah Khun Bon. There are many stories. Acted like a dominatrix but he could turn on the charm when he wanted. Last time we were in Patong, where I have been many times, he gave us such a low humble wai on the street that he was practically on his knees. It was scary! A bit like a gangsters kiss to mark you as a target!

Marty Supreme - Timothee Chalamet's New Movie
khaolakguy replied to PeterRS's topic in Theater, Movies, Art and Literature
You mean that in this movie he is no longer fulfilling your sex object requirements? Just asking. So if the part he is playing doesn't fit your fantasies he is no longer attractive as a person? -
Beautiful and haunting song that reminds you of our humanity. The Together for Palestine fund is trying to get a Palestinian lullaby to Christmas No 1 in the UK charts in an effort to help provide aid to the people of Gaza, but also to showcase their culture and creativity. To remind us that their existence is not just about their suffering. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/dec/11/brian-eno-urges-support-to-get-together-for-palestine-song-lullaby-to-christmas-no-1 https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=lullaby+together+for+palestine&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:0adb147c,vid:LenRjAMfoKk,st:0 Available in full on Apple Music and I expect elsewhere.

The truth is often not nice. We deal with what we know.

Leave the US immigration requirements aside(who wanted to go there anyway particularly with the tangerine queen in charge) can we got back to Mpox concerns/vaccines.

Riobard is an arsehole, and pretentious too, who I have had the pleasure of blocking for several months now. Take a tip, the forum is more enjoyable without reading his posts! Now where is my thank you from old grandaddy for providing the answer to his question about where to find the Maisie documentary?

Russian Drone Strike Has Radiation Escaping from Chernobyl Shield
khaolakguy replied to PeterRS's topic in The Beer Bar
There is something very unpleasant about someone using a sneering and sarcastic "dear" in posts. -
My comment would be two words, I just can't decide if the second word would be "off" or "you"......
-
I expect he heard that you were making an appointment and thought..... "no time like the present" for that out of town item on his bucket list!

Engage in a conversation, buy him a drink or two, make it clear that you fancy him and ask if he would be interested in spending some private time with you. There are various face saving answers that can be ways of saying no thank you to you, eg I have got a boyfriend. Thais are good at this and I don't expect he would be offended to be asked but don't treat him like an off boy. I don't imagine that the waiters/bartenders there are offable to anyone who asks in the way that a gogo guy is.

Remember the old saying that a man who doesn't know how to position chess pieces will surely know how to place his stamps in your book.

Accomodation in Bangok when staying in Thailand for 2 months
khaolakguy replied to gytis123's topic in Gay Bangkok
You could start here. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=monthly+rental+hotels+in+bangkok+thailand&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 -
All holiday destinations are busy at Christmas. If you have never been at that time you are just speculating on pricing for guys or just passing on something you heard someone say. Neither is very reliable. Although of course at other times, when there is a famine of customers, you may be able to take advantage of some vendor's desperation. If cheapness is your main criteria.

All helpful and interesting information. Who wins the prize for spotting which premises on Soi 6 are/will be undergoing conversion.....? As DoA suggests, "undergoing refurbishment" or "opening in new premises" can often be a face saving communication.

I don't know why some are incapable of using Google. You would find all sorts of information and links about her. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=maisie+trollette+tv+show&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Including where to access the documentary, as suggested by Andy. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Maisie-David-Raven/dp/B0B8TG7SGZ I watched some of her shows at the Black Cap in Camden Town(London) more than fifty years ago. I remember being very entertained. Mesmerised even as it was the first gay pub I went into, and I was under the age of consent at the time.

Update: The estate, home to almost 5,000 people, had been undergoing extensive renovations that have been linked to the fire’s cause. In the aftermath, anger has grown over alleged past safety violations by the construction company working at the site and lax enforcement of standards, fuelled by revelations that residents had been complaining about the renovations for a year. As allegations of safety violations grow, alongside revelations that government authorities had issued multiple apparently unenforced warnings, residents have asked why no officials have yet faced consequences. Instead, two civilians were reportedly arrested by national security police. Miles Kwan, a Hong Kong student, was arrested on Saturday over an online petition that made “four demands” for guaranteed support of the victims and accountability for those at fault, including any corrupt or culpable government officials. On Hong Kong social media, people criticised the arrests of civilians. “National security must be prioritised even if the dead are still buried in the building,” said one. Some commenters drew comparisons to mainland China. “The mainland calls these crimes ‘picking quarrels and provoking trouble’,” said one commenter. “It’s usually punished with heavy sentences. Stability trumps everything.” Another said: “Now that we are aligning with mainland China’s approach, by dealing with the person who raises the question, no one will dare to ask questions, and thus Hong Kong’s governance will have no problems.” https://www.theguardian.com/news/2025/dec/01/hong-kong-arrests-manslaughter-apartment-fires

Accomodation in Bangok when staying in Thailand for 2 months
khaolakguy replied to gytis123's topic in Gay Bangkok
Err, that's not even one month! Sadly the serviced apartments that I would have recommended are closed for refurbishment. For extra sheets etc, you are thinking too much already. I am sure that you will normally be able to obtain a change of sheets etc in serviced apartments or Airbnb. Just explain that you have had an "accident". Anyway first find your apartment and then you will find a shopping mall nearby where you can buy this if you prefer. Regarding washing clothes just ask the apartment supplier and if they don't have an on site service they will surely be able to advise you. If there is no safety box you can lock valuables in a suitcase. In the areas that you mention you will be asked if you want tuk tuk etc if you look like a tourist. It's just part of the soundtrack. Ignore or say "no thank you" without stopping.
