Guido's attracts customers because of it's location in Soi 4 with it's potential for people watching. Le Bouchon attracted customers despite it's original location in Patpong Two, as the food has always been excellent. Therefore while Le Bouchon has thrived in it's new and much expanded location, that success is less likely to be replicated if Guido's make a move.

As the above example demonstrates, where the negative comments are quoted and repeated in another's posts, you can't block it out, even if you were inclined to. I think your comments(why let others ruin it?) are best directed to others. If you feel you are making a positive contribution to a forum that you enjoy, but others shit on your contributions, why bother? It takes effort to make these kind of personal informative posts, you know what the ironing is suddenly looking more attractive!! I've answered your query, if you don't get it you don't get it. I miss the contributions of those who didn't feel able to continue contributing in these circumstances. Who wants to leave bullies and abuse unanswered?

12is12, I don’t think anyone is saying it is a good idea to stop, I think it is sad if anyone reaches that point but understandable. A forum is supposed to be a place of fun, with an exchange of views and information. The most enjoyable posts are those where people expose a part of themselves honestly, their character/ their journey, while informing and entertaining in their individual style. It’s just life and we the readers engage with them. But through their honesty they are also exposed. If posting becomes no longer fun through repeated personal attacks and critiques of their writing style and accusations of rule breaking it’s not surprising if they just decide to stop. Why take the trouble to post if you just keep exposing yourself to attack. Another and very different example of it here. https://www.gayguides.com/topic/76370-tunisian-military-has-a-lot-to-offer/

Budapest Gay Pride is a threat to children!
khaolakguy replied to khaolakguy's topic in The Beer Bar
The attempt to suppress the march looks likely to backfire with this years parade forecast to be the largest ever. Record numbers of people are expected to take part in Budapest Pride on Saturday, with Hungarians joining forces with campaigners and politicians from across Europe in a march that has become a potent symbol of pushback against the Hungarian government’s steady rollback of rights. “This weekend, all eyes are on Budapest,” Hadja Lahbib, the European commissioner for equality, told reporters in the Hungarian capital on Friday. “This is bigger than one Pride celebration, one Pride march. It is about the right to be who you are, to love who you want, whether it is in Budapest, in Brussels or anywhere else.” The country’s main Pride march was cast into doubt earlier this year after the country’s ruling Fidesz party – led by the rightwing populist Viktor Orbán – backed legislation that created a legal basis for Pride to be banned, citing a widely criticised need to protect children. The government also said it would use facial recognition software to identify people attending any banned events, potentially fining them up to €500 (£425). https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jun/28/budapest-pride-rallying-cry-orban-rollback-of-rights -
So if you are returning to your room from an outing, you need to take two lifts to get there, eg one to hotel lobby and then another one to your room?

If that is slim pickings I am a teenager!

Cambodia halts fuel and gas imports from Thailand as crisis simmers. This simmering crisis doesn't seem to be being reported as much in the Thai Media. Although our intrepid reporters advise that it is nevertheless impacting on the available Cambodian guys in both Bangkok and Pattaya. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/6/22/cambodia-halts-fuel-and-gas-imports-from-thailand-as-crisis-simmers

@alexch Please continue sharing your information and expertise, either in this thread or a new one, and don't be discouraged by one troubled poster. As you can see from other posts and likes there are quite a few interested in this topic, and we appreciate your input.

Viktor Orban's increasingly extreme attempt to associate homosexuality with paedophilia, in order to drive homosexuality back into the closet, seems to be reaching a fulcrum with the banning of the Budapest Gay Pride march next weekend, on the grounds that it might be seen by children who would be forever scarred(or seduced?) by the event. The libertarian Mayor of Budapest(challenger to Orban in the next national elections) is determined that the march should go ahead and European MEPs and human rights activists have pledged their support and to be present on the march. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2k1d7dlgzko

Thai PM seems to have shot herself in the foot by deferring to Cambodians over recent border issues in a leaked call. She is due to have a meeting with the criticised Thai General, which might be awkward. History suggests that Shinawatra disputes with the army do not end well for the Shinawatras. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jun/20/thai-prime-minister-paetongtarn-shinawatra-apologises-phone-leak-crisis-cambodia-hun-sen

Pity that Trump tore up the original Iran Nuclear agreement in his first term. That plan had been negotiated over a period of five years by the major countries of the world including the EU, Russia and China with Iran and included Iran's agreement to limit and reduce it's nuclear capacity under the strict supervision of the IAEA. The other objectors at the time were Israel and Saudi Arabia. Original Iran Nuclear deal

Although the bulky bodies may have made it feel smaller than it was!

Excellent choice! I have been staying at Bandara Suites since their original incarnation as Chin House 25 years ago. Although the building is fraying a little around the maintenance edges and the pool is small, this is reflected in the rates. One of the staff(who was there on my original visit) told me when I was there earlier this year that Bandara is due to be completely closed at some point this year for a total refurbishment.

OD is just stirring as usual. But of course US takes in more immigrants than the other individual countries named, as it's just about the same size as all of Europe, which takes in just as many immigrants. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Does+US+or+Europe+take+in+more+immigrants%3F&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

That rules it out for OD!
