It's been an eventful year. My mom passed away back in February. But the estate is all settled now so I am planning trips for next year. I'll be back in BKK for the first time in 3 or 4 years at the beginning of February before I travel on to Seoul for a couple of concerts. That will be quite a climate contrast. I'm also booking some cruises for the next couple of years. I'm sure I will pack some other things in too

Continuing from the drama on the motorbike… upon arriving at the night market, I realised that the admin had booked the same therapist for me without me even asking for him. They might already have a track record.
Btw, I spent some time exploring the local food stalls, even though a lot of the food was quite similar to what we have back home. The sky, which had been clear earlier, was now getting darker and darker. It was about to rain. I dont have any umbrella or rain jacket with me, all sold out from the entire 7E over there.
I just bought some snacks and opted not to eat anything too heavy, even though I was starving. I just didn’t want to show too much of my belly fat after eating when I met him. I have to look perfect infront of him. At least!! Haha. Plus, with all the food smells, heat, motorbike and smoke at the night market, my T-shirt started smelling like something awful.
I arrived at the shop slightly earlier since it really looked like it was about to rain. And the moment I stepped inside, it started raining.
Since I was already familiar with the shop, I just had a quick chat with the admin at the counter while waiting to settle the payment and everything else.
And then, he came to greet me. The smile, the looks, the voice, the cuteness, the hair, the baby face, all in one perfect package. he just made me melt all over again.
He brought me to the room, and he seemed so excited. He still remembered me, and this time, he chatted more than usual. He was friendlier and smiled a lot more. He tried so hard to speak English, and I felt so disappointed in myself again for not being able to speak Thai.
So i just quick review on the massage session since i already posted full review from my last visit at someone else thread. I forgot which one. The massage was really good, as usual. Exceptional, Consistent, a good amount of oil used, and he hits all the right spots. Two hours actually felt like nothing. I’ll just be honest here. Everything was perfect.
Again, at the very last minute before the session ended, while he was doing some stretching, I realised I needed something to close the activity. The last time, the business was unfinished. I need to claim it now before it too late.!!
So, I bravely asked if he did extra. He smiled and said yes, but with an extra tip. I agreed. Bring it on. No negotiation needed. I pay full price. Name it!!
He started taking off his clothes, and I had no idea what to expect. The muscles, the body, the skin, the tattoos, the odour…everything hit me at the same time. My delulu at the highest peak. This time i’ll prepare myself to be a good boy and not creating any scene.
We spent some time for business. Check and inspect here and there as like a human QC. I just wanted to appreciate and embrace his presence a little longer, until I suddenly realised that the two hours had already passed for half hour. He also looked at the watch and seem to just ignored it.
Upon finish and satisfied with the business, we wrapped the course and get ready. After everything was done, he escorted me back to the waiting area and said, “Please come back again.”=). Of course i will. Perhaps probaby by next week i’ll stand here again!
We said goodbye.
While waiting for my bike, I had another chat with the admin over the counter. Just some random conversation to kill time. Extrovert me can’t even stay silent for a while. Haha.
I’m back to the night market to buy some food before heading back to my hotel. The rain had just stopped, and finally, I could end the day with a glorious smile on my face.
The business deal was done. Haha.
Based on my experience with Motion Spa, everything was exceptional. The massage quality was really good, and the overall experience was definitely to my liking.
But, when it came to the extras, just to be really really honest here ok. my therapist perhaps not really into that. If yes, he probably gonna bring it at first. Just for the sake of me asking for it and probably some extra money for him during low season. I rated it as B. I also have no idea what his current position, straight, bi, gay, trans (cannot be) or whatever. I think building that connection could take some time, and I guess it’s not something that happens instantly with everyone. If you want to worship his body, go on, it perfect creature. If it Something more than that, i don’t think he is interested.
But overall, I must give this place an A.
Should I come back? Yes, definately.
Would I recommend my therapist? Nahhh. Get someone else. Leave him just for me.

This guy needs a rap over the knuckles. You can get sufficient protein from chicken breast, eggs, fish or tofu combined with protein powder. It’s not just steak. Try to buy organic meat if you can. Eating too much steak can have its downsides especially if you’re frying it in oil everyday!
Try and mix things up, eggs in the morning, grilled chicken breast or fish later on. Vary these with your steak days. Fish oil is good for you as well.
I can’t eat wagyu, the fat in it is so rich it makes me feel sick. Waiters always think I’m a tightwad when I refuse to order the wagyu in restaurants. I buy galbi or beef short rib cuts from Asian supermarkets and air fry it. It’s fat enough to cook in its own oil and doesn’t get too dry, but not as nauseatingly marbled as wagyu.

Today's Guardian newspaper ranks this actor's top 20 movies in order - although who does the ranking is not stated.
I had not realised his career and that of his pal Ben Affleck were basically on the skids until they turned to screenwriting and won the Oscar for Best Screenplay with Good Will Hunting in 1997. It achieves #11 on the list. The last two are 1990s movies which I have not seen. #18 is Syriana which I did enjoy. #13, #14 and #15 are three of probably his best-known movies - The Martian, Saving Private Ryan and Oppenheimer in that order.
Perhaps inevitably the first three in his Bourne series come in at #10, #5 and #3. Thankfully his last one titled simply Bourne, in my view the worst, is not on the list.
But two of my favourites are there. Behind the Candelabra comes in at #6. And for me the most fascinating and the one i enjoyed almost the most is The Talented Mr. Ripley which is there at #1. The Ripley movie is out on Netflix in mid-January. Perhaps of interest is that Leonardo DiCaprio turned down the role given to Damon. And Jude Law took a lot of persuaion to sign for the Dickie Greenleaf role. He did not want to be playing what he thought would be a "pretty boy" role - something he stated later was "insane arrogance" on his part.
A econd Ripley movie was made with Ripley now living in a mansion in Italy as an assassin with John Malkovich in the lead. The novelist Patricia Highsmith wrote four Ripley sequels and all were made into much less good early movies or later TV series. The Malkovich movie Ripley's Game was in fact based on the third in that series. I wish the director Antony Minghella could have been persuaded to make a second with the adventures of Matt Damon as he develops his role as a serial killer.

seems like they're just begging for a raid given the current feelings in Thailand towards foreigners, especially those who are working but shouldn't be

Day 1
 I had even enough time to exchange some money  in train station exchange booths. What I noticed there are few more of them and very important  - Kasikorn Bank booth to the right as we enter station area which so far had the same rates like rest of kiosks in the airport, now  has the same  rates like station exchanges.  On the train I announced my arrival to  spoon and former member “reader”. Spoon told me he is heading for Good Boys and will wait for me there. Soon after he send me a picture of him sitting  with one of their boys known to me  - one who once arrived on motorbike to my hotel but on departure still asked for taxi money. You may recall the story . Lets call him  FuBoy , short for funny boy. Promised to wait for me.
 When walking through Thaniya on that steamy  night I noticed dearth of tourists.
 Raya upgraded me  to bit more spacious room, I showered, shave and at about 12,30 am marched to Good Boys. Reader , upon learning I’m heading to GoodBoys, recommended me one of their boys , knowing I’m looking for muscles.  Bar was full when I entered with show going on
 Joyful reunion in the bar , with both spoon and FuBoy     and when I told him about readers recommendation , spoon  told me  “ boy is standing right in front of you “. Indeed he was so making him seat beside and ordering him drink was easy and instant. Lets call him GMB (Goodboys Muscle Guy) . he agreed to an off immediately. Hey  even with bar full there were more boys than patrons, clingy and kissy , excellent introduction to my trip. Soon all 4 of us went to Foodland to eat something and then parted ways with spoon and his boy. He impressed me  indeed. At one point of night    he went to bathroom , I heard bum gun running and then he went to shower  to clean himself even better, That earned him 500 extra tip on dismissal.

So many friendly people in my apartment building even an old farang I think German who lives in my building said "welcome to the Philippines" 
 
I would like to ask them why they choose Manila and not Bangkok to live but Manila is growing on me ! .

I like Airbnbs for longer stays too. Especially with a washing machine. Although there are lots of serviced apartment places in Bangkok that also have those sorts of facilities. 
I stayed at an Airbnb in Bangkok once a few years ago when I was in town for a few weeks. It was well-located but it was a "no Airbnb" building so I always felt like a criminal when I was coming and going. I understand that if you do a stay of longer than a month you are basically legal and can just be added to the security system and so forth. But the places I've stayed in Europe and elsewhere in Asia were quite nice. I had a great apartment in Canberra for a week one time.
I'm thinking that on my next to trip to Thailand I will try and stay for a couple of months so I may do Airbnb or some other short term rental

I once ordered water (nam plao) in a restaurant and was given a bottle of fish sauce (nam pla).
I now just order by number!

Well, a brief background first....
A couple of weeks ago I was getting dressed after a shower in the gym locker room area of Quarter Silom. I saw a young, muscular guy opening the door of the sauna a couple of times and looking towards me. I was thinking surely he isn't cruising me, but I was the only one there, so I decided to take my shirt off and I went into the sauna. I started chatting and then my thoughts were validated. Before long it was hand jobs and kissing. Ok, it doesn't match Olddaddy's fabulous and thrilling (and possibly slightly embellished) sexual encounters, but it was daring and fun for me until someone else entered the sauna.
As I was leaving the sauna, I thought I would try out a Thai phrase on him which I had actually learned the day before.  "Khun loor mak khap." I understood that I was telling him that he was very handsome. A few days later I decided to go to Google translate and repeated the same phrase to discover whether I was speaking Thai well enough to get a correct English translation. I then found out that I had told him that he was very greedy. No wonder he gave me a strange look. How that happened I don't know. A Google search showed me that the Thai word for greedy was loph (Google spelling). Maybe I should just stick to basic Thai phrases in the future 
Anyway, the guy in question is a local who is a gym member and he has excellent English.

Probably not. I did the old TG flight JFK to BKK once. That was beyond my limit. Now that I'm retired I have plenty of time to get where I'm going

Stayed at the Aiden Surawong recently. It's a newly opened boutique style hotel and part of Best Western Hotel Group. Rooms are very modern and stylish. Pool area is quite nice although it lacked a shaded area. Didn't use the gym. Breakfast was quite nice with several options you order from a menu. Front desk is on a high floor with guest rooms being on lower floors. As such it is no problem to bring joiners as you won't need to pass by front desk. Apparently the building housed a gemstone factory before being converted to the current hotel. As such the layout of the room I stayed was somewhat unusual with an open bathroom. Well, there was a curtain for some privacy at least. Overall I liked the stay and thought it was good value.

Do the massage places in Taipei include full-service happy endings? Do they top or bottom? How is that service negotiated, and are additional tips expected?  Thanks!

Its more a smallish indoor bar  with a few seats outside for smokers - bar decorated with lots of Japanese keepsakes - some regular boys but quite a few come and go so dont expect a lad on Facebook pic to be there - 180 thb for for drinking company for an hour - the hour can be loosely interpreted!!! Large Chang 95 thb - basic drinks dont expect cocktails - Food is more along the lines of snacks - fries, fried chicken skin. Bar mostly patronised by local gay folk but few times i have been everyone friendly and lads are very friendly. My first visit there i left exhausted such was the company 😃 unsure if boys are offable - got the impression private arrangement if lad is wiling  - One thing i liked was fully itemised machine printed checkbin at the end of the night. Bar is located in a soi with karaoke shops and massage - 7/11 at the end of the soi - Worth a visit if in town
Soi 6 in the night bazaar very quiet now - low season - one night this week one of the bars had 3 customers and 13 boys  - the Kalare night market site is closed awaiting demolition. Orion , Charm , Ram still open. Connections Bar moved to new location Chang Klan
 
 
 

Thanks for sharing this information with us @Latbear4blk.  This is also my fear for our Gayguides.com forum - in that one day it just vanishes for whatever reason.  Currently, we are ALL very lucky that we have @TotallyOz who is our current benefactor and keeps Gayguides going.  I am truly grateful.
Over the years, many forums and websites that I was very fond of have disappeared over the years due to the server that was hosting those sites not being paid for anymore.  90% of the time it was not out of maliciousness - its just that the founders of these said sites just lost interest or passed on in life and there was no well thought out succession plan.
Often in this forum, we often discuss regrets about certain bars, saunas, and accommodations that no longer exist - but what would happen if gayguides one day ceased to exist?  Who would hear our stories? 

I just checked and it is Peter Jackson who has digitised around 2,000 of these magazines under the title The Rainbow Project. They cover the period 1982 to 2009. Being based in Thailand it seems to be impossible now to access that website -

But after a very quick check there are a lot of titles that seem to be missing. For example, I cannot see Heat or Door anywhere, and these were very popular gay photo magazines in the 1990s.

Just finished a 3-day stay in Pune, based at the Conrad Hotel, where I was upgraded to a spacious suite — easily one of the best hotels in town. Great service, Excellent Executive Lounge and pool,  a comfortable base to unwind.
There’s definite potential on the apps here, though, as usual in India, you have to navigate a sea of fake photos and profiles before you find genuine guys. Still, patience paid off — I met a couple of nice locals, and Piyush, who’s been traveling with me for the last nine nights, kept things lively. We enjoyed the hotel, the city views, and a few relaxed nights in.
I also visited the Hard Rock Café Pune, which was my 97th Hard Rock worldwide — and unfortunately, the first one that actually tried to scam me. After paying my bill, they produced another one claiming the first charge was only for the souvenir glasses and not for the food and drinks. They even said the prices on the menu were outdated! Needless to say, I didn’t pay twice and have already emailed my corporate contacts about it. Waiting to see what they say.
Despite that hiccup, Pune itself surprised me —  friendly, and easy to get around. I’d return someday just for the hotel experience. One of the hotel staff was on Grindr, but he's not allowed in the rooms so we would've had to go to a motel or something nearby, too much work for me, lol

Took an Uber Intercity car a 3.5 hr ride to Mumbai, where I am now in a premium larger vehicle, $40usd.

wasn't this the MO for many of the Sunnee bars back in the day? 20 years ago when I first started visiting Thailand there were no cushions but plenty of open play with the boys. Lots of sleazy fun back in those days
