I’m an Airbnb person. Been using them for last 10 years with no complaints. I’m moving into one in a few hours. I decided to fly over a few days before Unit was available. Staying in hotel for 4 nights make me realize how much I enjoy the room and privacy of a condo.

I understand what you’re going through TMaX. I just went thru the same thing. I had major surgery last year and finally finished with recovery. My doctors have given me permission to travel on long trip. They think I’m like normal tourist and will only be gone 2 weeks. I didn’t tell them I’m staying 2 months. Just keep thinking all good things Thailand, and reading the forum will help the time go by. Good luck with your recovery.

You have to be carefull and patient with AA pricing. The high prices will usually drop a few days later. It’s like a computer glitch. i was booking a Miami-Bangkok for next month. AA web site kept coming up with $8k to 12k. I just kept checking each day and finally got a fare of $4800. I’ve run into this many times over the years. I’ve got to much invested in AA to change, but it can be challenging at times. The Lax-Mia flights are high because the Hollywood crowd commutes back and forth. They’ll’ pay anything.

Many of the riverfront hotels are sold out already for New Years. I was lucky to get an Airbnb on the river across from Icon Siam. Looking forward to the fireworks.

Kman also closed on May 9.

I’m a 5 million miler with American. I have lifetime Executive Platinum status. Yes, this status carries across all One World carries. You don’t get every benefit, but most. All my trips to Bangkok from the US are on Japan, Cathay, or Qatar. All 3 of these recognize my status. In irregular ops situations I go to the head of the line. I get to use all the First Class lounges. And on occasion get operational upgrades. Because my status is lifetime, I don’t need to fly One World to retain it, but it serves me well.

But Rob he’s our Uncle Asshole. Do you really want to throw him out of the house. You would miss him. 🙂

Where I live is hotter than Bangkok at this time of the year. So I go to Bangkok to cool down. 🥶

I’ll say my experiences with Kman are opposite yours. It’s my go to place. Never have an issue. Will admit I always do same day or 1 day inquiries so don’t know if booking several days out causes issues. I ask for a particular person and usually have an answer within an hour. Never been disappointed. Prices are very clearly posted for rooms and minimum tips so shouldn’t be an issue . Sorry you’re having issues. My favorite place .

I go out to Kman Massage frequently. I have a regular I see. We do 3 ways often. I message him and he sends me 3 or 4 pictures of guys available for this kind of fun. I have never been disappointed and most of the times these become no limits scenes. It all comes down to communication and money. Most of the minimum tips are 800 - 1000. Easy to have 3ways for 1500. Saphan Kwai area shops is the place to go for this kind of fun.

Before Covid Cathay sold the Jfk Vancouver leg as a separate ticket. So you could buy just that or thru to Hong Kong. They stopped selling it during Covid.

The police decided Halloween would be a good night to roam thru Patpong checking for illegal workers. Police came in from Surawong and workers ran out Silom side. About 9 police gone and most workers returned. Also between about 7-8 there was a power failure. Much of Patpong 2 in the dark. And for those of you that don’t like loud music, there was none for about an hour.

Patpong was alive and well last night. I think all the heavy rains this week brought people out, and they were in a spending mood. Bars and gogo’s had big crowds . Lots of groups of people . It was a fun night to be out. Soi 4 packed. Long line to get into DJ Station. Offs seemed to be the order of the night. Can they go for 2 busy nights in a row, let’s see what Saturday brings.

I have been inside but did not see show. I have seen couple ladyboys getting ready for show. So probably some combination of boys and ladyboy acts. Big center post has to be a hinderance to show, but Dreamboys made it work. As Jason mentioned, staff quality has gone up since opening week.

I made it to SOL gogo tonight. Inside basicly same set up as it was with Dreamboys, except all new and modern. And yes, the big pole is still in the middle of the stage. Seating is black vinyl bench type like used at FreshBoys. Then in front of them row of single seats . Couch’s set up along the stage. All seating seemed comfortable. Group of 3 other customers and myself. About 10 guys on stage. Around 25 overall. Rotating fairly quickly. They were wearing white tennis type shorts and button up shirts that were colorful. They looked nice, but if you want to see skin it will be below the knees. 1 guy was shirtless, 1 was unbuttoned. I think they have a ways to go in their talent hiring. But that’s my opinion. We all have different likes and dislikes. No twinks. More mid to upper 20’s . As Vinapu always says, you only need one. There were 2 that got my attention , but a big drop off from there. Drinks 400. I had a coke. Brought glass full but not the rest of can. Half ice, half coke, steep price. Waiter I had spoke no English. Everything on phone. Drink menu, Boy info. Operating hours. New place so really pushing boys and drinks. No customers so lots of waiter hovering . I didn’t go to show. It starts at 10:20. They’re still doing a little work here and there. Outside very generic, inside looks very nice. I guess time will tell.

Name is SOL. Signage is not good. Opening night, No touts, No flowers No sign of a Grand Opening. , No idea what was going on. I barely saw a customer go in till 10pm. Nobody could even say if their was a show or not. He needs to put Marketing high on his list. Let’s see what happens with quiet Sunday and Monday coming up. I’ll try to get a peek inside.
