Local media reported his birthday haul totaled 50 million Thai baht, or around $1.4 million. With such an army of intense supporters behind him, it’s little wonder then that Apo was named by Christian Dior as a men’s ambassador this summer, along with his co-star Phakphum ‘Mile’ Romsaithong. The two actors, who star as an on-screen couple in a BL television series (a “boys’ love” drama featuring gay romance themes) called “KinnPorsche,” have become a valuable marketing vehicle for the brand. The pair have appeared at events across Asia, including Dior’s show in India, and on the covers of various editions of Vogue, GQ and other magazines. One reason they provide a good return on investment is the remarkably high engagement they generate on social media. Data from a report released by Lefty.io, a social media analytics company, and public relations firm Karla Otto found that Apo and Mile were ranked 3rd and 5th in earned media value for the Spring-Summer 2024 show season on Instagram and TikTok — only after Kylie Jenner and Zendaya, who have 399 million and 185 million followers respectively on Instagram. In comparison, the Thai actors have just 3.5 million Instagram followers each. Still, they are able to induce a fanaticism that’s typically only seen with South Korean stars. December 4, 20232 yr Author For me this year so far the best Thai series was Only Friends. Maybe not storywise, but high cuteness factor and more steamy than the average series. Can't wait for Cherry Magic though, Tay-New is almost a guarantee for sucess. As is Off-Gun in Cooking Crush, just saw the first 2 episodes and I like it.

From The Nation The Commerce Ministry plans to work with the Thai producers of the drama series “boys’ love” (BL) genre to help boost demand for Thai products overseas. Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said on Wednesday that his ministry was targeting a large market of foreigners who are loyal followers of Thai BLs, and have high purchasing power. “We will try to sell goods to their fans,” he said, adding that this was part of his ministry’s attempt to find new markets for Thai products. But he did not elaborate on how they plan to do it. “If you look to expand the market in the old way, you will end up getting nowhere,” he said, adding that those involved need to “think out of the box”. Phumtham, who is also a deputy prime minister, said he would launch the plan on January 31, without elaborating. A key figure from the ruling Pheu Thai Party, Phumtham said that Thai films and dramas in the BL genre had a large following overseas. He pointed to large numbers of foreign fans joining events featuring popular Thai actors from those series in Thailand. Boys’ love genre depicts romantic relationships between male characters. Thai movies and dramas in this genre have gained strong international following in recent years, particularly in Asian countries like Japan and China. BL is also known as “Y series” in Thailand, deriving from the Japanese term “yaoi” – a genre of fictional media originating in Japan that features homoerotic relationships between male characters. The commerce minister was speaking during the “Thailand 2024: The Great Challenges” event held at the Pullman Bangkok King Power hotel. He also said during the event that the Commerce Ministry was working with a group of Chinese influencers on its plan to boost demand for Thai products in China. Phumtham said his ministry would soon enter into an agreement with 30-40 leading Chinese influencers as part of the plan, adding that one of the participating influencers alone had as many as 300 million followers. As per the plan, the Chinese influencers will help sell Thai products during their livestreaming to followers, according to the commerce minister.

May 2, 20242 yr A taiwanese show I enjoyed very much. Slightly iffy story line at first about adopted brothers falling in love with each other...But the show was beautifully shot and the whole thing wasn't icky at all. Drama name is "Unknown"
