I'm pretty sure I saw sign to this effect in one of Boyztown bars and BBB is prime suspect.

I did say "when the antismoking ban was first introduced" and that was around ten or more years ago. Those were the days when I used to visit bars regularly. Solid Bar, for example, had three such large signs yet the owner and almost all the boys smoked.

The Sam Sen Nai Philatelic Museum?  Yes, I mentioned it in the Tighter Visa Exempt Rules thread. I hear the mayor of Bangkok is thinking of renaming it in vinapu's honour.

it's actually  very well positioned for those attending Saphan Kwai massage venues. One can see it on the left as  approaching Saphan Kwai station from Ari

The hosts range from middling to hot, 20 to 30 years old, athletic and to my eye, on the taller side (by tall, I mean taller than 170 cm which is quite tall by Thai standards).  And yes, they are Thai. Clearly they've been screened by management to suit Thai and other Asian tastes. No malnourished-looking waifs here. The guys don't have number tags yet (something to do with waiting for approval from the authorities) so you'll have to indicate to a mamasan who you'd like to sit with you. A majority of the customers are women but all are welcome. They open from 10 PM until 4 AM but doesn't usually get busy until after the clubs and lady bars have closed.

Addendum: The 350 Baht "host drink" does include one drink for the host. Mea culpa.

I forgot to mention that they also have ladyboy cabaret, sexy boy shows and B-boys performing. B-boys breakdancing feels somewhat dated now and I've seen better cabaret and sexy boy shows elsewhere.

Addendum: smoking in the bar is allowed. I saw several people smoking during a live video call with a member of staff but he was quick to point out there's plenty of seating on the verandah for those of us who don't want to die from passive smoking. Of course, this begs the question: why not make the smokers sit on the verandah or at least make them step out onto the verandah if they fancy a cigarette?

Apparently they have been a host bar since late 2023 and what's interesting is that quite a few of the hosts from that time have remained on staff (although some have new noses and chins) so they must be making money.
