October 28, 20241 yr I was offered a discount 10% on a Airbnb gift card so bought one for $200 which is $190 However looking at Airbnb vs hotels I am seeking basically the same price unless it's a long stay booking. Any advantage in staying in a Airbnb vs a hotel ? You could say cost but doesn't seem much different 🧐

October 28, 20241 yr Popular Post With cleaning fees tacked on, no daily house keeping and inflexbile booking policy - I am partial to hotel. The feeling of coming back at the end of the day to a clean room is really underrated.

October 29, 20241 yr Author Having now researched the Airbnb sites ,I can't see much difference in pricing from the hotels Furama or Tartawan averages 1300 a night and most Airbnb too
October 29, 20241 yr Key thing to note when using AirBnB in Thailand is lack of TM30 reporting by the property owner. A legal requirement by any House Manager or Property Owner to complete within 24 hours of a guests arrival. Hence why when staying in hotels you're always asked for your Passport during check-in, as the Hotel updates the Immigration Database with your details. Fine to the property owner for failing in their duty is 1600THB. However, if you're caught in a 'misdemeanour' by the Boys in Brown (BiB) or randomly checked, the fine is likely to be on you, rather than your AirBnB host.
October 29, 20241 yr That’s a good point. Agent who rents me my Airbnb takes care of filing the form. She managimany units for many owners.
October 29, 20241 yr Author I stayed in a Airbnb in Pattaya last week for 2 nights as I had a voucher They didn't even ask for a passport 😮
October 29, 20241 yr I could imagine that owners who rent out for less than the minimum required 30 days in Bangkok try to avoid filling out any kind of registration form ...
