As I’ve said where can I find older gay men eg over 60 or 70 in Pattaya?

Ive tried ThaiFriendly which is no good and obviously the bar scene isn’t either. 
 

any recommendations?

Saunas provide lockers and you can put the key around your wrist or ankle.

If you're a newbie you should be aware that Thai attitudes to nudity are, on the whole, very different to those in the west or even other Asian countries. Thai guys at saunas take their towels off only for showers and in the privacy of a cubicle, though I recall  occasionally  meeting some naked guys in the (very) dark rooms at Babylon. (Happy times!) I've seen falangs walk around Babylon naked but very rarely. Somehow, it looks "wrong" because I know it offends Thai cultural beliefs.

Don't be misled by the apparent freedom of the Bangkok sex-show. Even the most experienced mb will probably undress in your room with a towel around his waist. Of course, it will be removed for the fun but there is usually a shyness which demands modesty until the right moment arrives.

I realise your anxiety as a new guy to the Sauna.....we have all been newbies at some time.

I'm in Jomtien right now and went to Sansuk last night. It was very very busy with Falangs, older Asian, Younger Asian etc etc.

Generally in the open areas I'd say 80% of guys wear underwear or a towel and quietly observe the surroundings, having a drink etc

However, something  I've never seen before until last night was  in the open area ( near the Jacuzzi) where an older guy maybe 75 yrs was on his bed  giving another guy a BJ 🤪

Many people shower in full view of others ( some showering  with erections ) but I always shower with swimwear on.

When you want to go and explore the steam room, sauna or dark room, many guys hang up their towel upon entering and walk around naked but some leave their towel around.

It's entirely down to you. No set rules. Just do what you feel is comfortable but rest assured you will not be judged in any way.

It's a great relaxing evening.

In answer to your ordinal question HornOne.

Lock everything in the locker they allocate you…especially money, phones, watches etc. And use the tab they give you to put they locker key around your wrist.

If you want to buy anything, like drinks or food, they they ask for your key number and you then pay for everything on checkout. You won’t need any money whilst in the sauna.

As well as the key to a numbered locker they will give you a towel which practically everyone wears around the waist. I also make sure I wear sandals  when I visit which I can also wear walking around the place.

The second highest cause of death in Thailand is cirrhosis of the liver. The rate of alcohol abuse in gay and transgender individuals may be as high as 25 percent compared to 5–10 percent in the general population.
Throw in their economic hardships, rampant HIV, drug abuse. Also keep in the mind the average age of death in Thailand is a lot lower than many western countries. 

I'm not sure many gay men in Thailand reach that age, and that's sad. 
In my time in Thailand I have seen too many young gay men die. Statistically far exceeding what you would see in a western country. In these cases it was drug abuse, alcohol abuse and HIV.

Even though I only visit Thailand two times a year for about 4 months (but have been doing so for nearly twenty years) I have always been surprised at the number of boys I know who have died. Some from Sunee Plaza in the good old days, and also from Boyztown.

As well as the above causes I know one who was killed on a motor bike. I’m sure there must be more motor bike accidents.

But ..i do drink in Thailand a lot mostly red red wine 🍷 

I don't take illegal  drugs of any kind and I don't smoke 

I did use the poppers my last visit which my doctor warned against but not all the time

Very true, hardly anyone wears a helmet, let alone the standard of driving,  including  drunk driving.

Heard same rumor 22 years ago on my first trip so must be just rumor.

Nice post and good to learn more about Sansuk - i really have to check it out. I've been to Club Bath in Manila many times and one of the abiding memories is how quiet it is in terms of people talking. It's literally like a library in the steam room and corridors... is Sansuk the same or a bit more "noisy"?
