Wait, there's a new garoto sauna opening up near Lagoa?

No. A new one opened and an old one is reopening. Since the old one was never particularly considered to be near Lagoa and the new one is the same distance from Lagoa as the old one, albeit opposite directions, I don’t know why references are made to an additional venue being in close geographic proximity to Lagoa. However, FWIW, the nearest Metro station is a bit closer to the newer one compared to that of the older one (2.0 or higher reboot). That said, since Lagoa itself is somewhat of a hike to a Metro station, a car ride is likely the appropriate mode of hopping among three establishments.

Hey,

I have a quick update: Point 202 will be closed on Sundays and Tuesdays. So, the discussion before the post about closing two days was accurate, and the calendar I posted needs to be updated to reflect these two days.

They’ve made some changes. Do you recall the dark area under the stairs, leading to the private room, where a porn movie was playing near the locker rooms? With some garotos sitting there? That area has been completely renovated with a charming set of tables and chairs. I’ve attached a few pictures below.

I was informed that Point will be open every day during the carnival! I’ll provide more details later. Now, I’m on my way to the beach.

Watch for discount promotions other than Tuesday at 117  where savings in reais can be had at relatively high levels obviously translating to less consequential amounts in many other currencies, depending on how you math up entrance and suite fees on Tuesdays, as well as opt for cash vs Cartão/Pix payment, compared to these newly instituted (trialled?) but not broadly advertised deals.

So, prices have been increasing across all saunas’ entrances. For instance, in Lagos, the prices for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday have risen to R$90. However, compared to what I would have to pay in the US for a sauna or club that would be a complete waste of time and impossible to meet anyone, let alone a hot guy, Brazil is still a steal!

I wish the exchange rate was higher, but it’s still quite reasonable. When I arrived, it was the last day at R$5.88, so fortunately, I had changed a lot of money at that rate. But then when down to 5,71 and staying there

On the other hand, the GP prices remain at 200/300, which is still incredible. It all depends on what you’re looking for and the famous elite :p

Yesterday in Point, I encountered the same group of super hot guys. I only saw them as they were leaving with clients, as I was one of them. The ones who were hanging around seemed nice and cute.  The hot ones rarely last and you don’t see them in the main saloon

Today, there are 117 free rooms available. So that will be the hunger games of pau  and  ardência

How do you get the PIX? I’ve been trying to find a way to use it without luck. That would help a lot instead of carrying cash. Also, Bradesco has resulted in the best bank to get money from.

I’m not the one to ask. I don’t possess payment systems that align with their digital options other than standard credit cards. And why get Pix if discounts there exclude that payment option? You might want Pix as a payment option in other areas. I don’t care much about the cash payment discounts as they amount to paltry amounts in exchange. I usually pay with cartão but always carry enough cash for the final checkout tab if needed because their card reader machines often reject the payment although the cards work before and after at other establishments. The hassle of using cash in spite of saving a few bucks in these cases is needing to replenish cash for an abundance of trade hookups, although the Santander branches I use don’t gouge with upcharges. BTW the cash discount option is not stratified in the computer tally and you would want to see the venue cashiers use a calculator as they get busy and distracted over the onerous additional calculations across the various charges (potentially multiple charge categories with new experimental combo promotions) if, that is, you would prefer the discount over a sly knowing smile (yours) when handing over your bills. I believe mobile data activation is required for Pix within specific wallet apps, none of which I have downloaded and Apple Wallet seems not to support Pix. I avoid roaming as it runs about 80 reais daily when otherwise I don’t usually need it; though you can ask for the venue wifi password if connection is needed for Pix payment, that I won’t enter here as it is restricted to clients. Again, having the phone out upon departure is just an additional hassle added to the circus act juggling of various cards, cash denominations and reading glasses to scrutinize billing data. I am sure somebody more knowledgeable and experienced, or other than a Luddite Boomer like me, can weigh in. I think you still need the CPF for Pix.

No, I was wondering to use it for the programas with garotos since some of them have mentioned that they take PIX. For the saunas I always paid with CC. I have never paid the tab with cash since cash can be hard to get if you run out of it. In 117 and in 202 there is one of those ATMs that works with every major debit card. And there are at least one Bradesco within walking distance. The only one that is a pain if you run out of cash is Lagoa, there is mo atm near.

Ah, OK, makes sense to want that option. I have been asked for that mode by ad hires, in fact. However, I use cash for hookups, occasionally PayPal if we have that platform in common. Not yet Pix registered. I gave up on CPF acquisition when I searched the steps to purchase a small appliance in stores requiring it but it was easier to just go to Americanas for the item as they did not dig in heels wrt CPF registration. I suspect that it’s not that hard to get CPF and then Pix but I have yet to hit a wall meaningfully without them.

Ask someone more knowledgeable than myself, but I think you need a CPF and an account in a Brazilian bank in order to have Pix. If I am wrong, I am sure someone will correct me.

what time to meet the super hot ones? 6pm or earlier?

To be honest, it’s relative. What may be hot for me might not be for you, and vice versa.

In my opinion, a 5 to 7pm  seems like a reasonable time to go. However, I will say that you should go as far as you feel comfortable and take it from there. For instance, today, there were a lot of guys, but I didn’t see any hotter ones that I hadn’t seen before.

I answered à similar question in the “Over 65” subject thread here.

Pix is the Brazilian version of Zelle in the USA. Pix is for quick transfer from Brazilian bank account to Brazilian bank account — but if you do not have an account here and thus no Pix, you can also use a remittance service like Wise or Remitly ot even Western Union to send money into a Brazilian’s account through Pix — for an additional add-on fee. It’ll just take more information from both parties (like name, address, address and number of bank), and it can take up to 24 hours for the money to be transferred and deposited. Most garotos, especially ones you don’t know and thus, they cannot trust you, will NOT be willing to accept being paid hours or a day after the programa is done.  Tons of true tales about garotos not trusting gringos who tell them they will pay them or the money is on the way, and then that gringo skips town. So, remittance apps are normally NOT an option for the occasional tourist to pay their providers.

Any word on when's the busy night at Python?

On the map, it's a short walk from the Sao Joaquim metro station. So although it's a net wash with the closing of 555, it is pragmatically closer than 555 in Pacaembu.

I’ve done it in but there have been wooden board barriers extending quite a hike around street repair, obscuring visibility upon exiting São Joaquim station. They may have since cleared. If you leave the station using exit that emerges directly to the busy intersection where Liberdade northerly becomes Vegueiro southerly, cross westerly to the notably red building Habib’s Restaurant, immediately bear left/south to Pedroso, then right/west on Pedroso that bridges over the tangle of thoroughfares below. If you exit the station by the secondary exit B you will be directly on the west side and of course Habib’s will be to your right, then proceed to Pedroso, etc.

Alternatively, Uber one way was trending at 25-30 reais before tip from Hotel Renaissance near Paulista/Augusta, not much distance difference from 555 via vehicle. The latter operates Fri, Sat, Sun.

Updating my old February for June's Pride week..

So far, it has been a blast! Now resting in bed, trying to muster the energy to head out and enjoy the spring-like weather, but I’m totally wiped out. Last night, I visited Phyton, which, by the way, was closed on Tuesday (not sure if that was a one-time thing). When I went yesterday, it was surprisingly quiet. By 4:30 PM, there were only two of us, though a few more GP started trickling in as the evening went on.

I’m not sure if it was because of Bingo night, but the GPs crowd was younger than usual. A couple of really hot ones, a few regulars, and some others who were just... okay. I had one great program with this hot young gp, though. Python is a little off for me, though—it's kind of chilly inside, and the layout doesn't work in its favor.

Then I decided to head over to Lagoa. OH. BOY Lagoa was packed—like, wall-to-wall packed. It was almost hard to move around. There were all kinds of GPs, for all tastes. It felt like a candy shop. There were so many options that I didn’t know where to start.  There was something for every taste—new GPs, at least for me, regulars, one massive guy with tons of muscles, and some simpler options, too.

Then, of course, it was Bingo time, which doubled the crowd—both clients and GPs. There was also a guy celebrating what seemed like his anniversary, and he looked like someone who was well-known, so that probably helped boost the energy. Oh, and there were some GPs that I recognized from Garotolandia/Garotolocal—sites that, by the way, I am giving a try, but still no luck.

Overall, it was a fantastic night. I wish I had a better memory to recall the names of the boys I was with or how everything went, but I’m really terrible at that kind of thing. And honestly, what worked for me might not be what works for you. But all my Wednesdays at Lagoa have been the best nights; going tonight, to both, I wish Python was closer to Lagoa, but I will check them out.

Daytime in Republica...

During the day, I decided to check out Republica. It was interesting, to say the least! Almost every porn movie theater  I passed had a rainbow flag flying, even the worst and dirtiest ones. I mean, even they had signs welcoming Pride Week visitors. Oh boy, I really hope visitours check the reviews before walking into one of those places. My advice? Bring masks and gloves—heck, maybe even a full Hazmat suit. 😂

Then, maybe it was just me being clueless, but I finally realized that Republica, with all its sketchiness, actually has a pretty big gay area. The neighborhood around Dedalos Bar is packed with gay-friendly spots, and since some of these places are trying to capitalize on Pride, there were a bunch of new ones I hadn’t seen before.

I’ve seen a lot in my time, but even I wouldn’t have dared to step inside some of these places. Some were... well, for the filthiest sex, both figuratively and literally. But it was only noon, and I wasn’t planning on visiting them after dark when Lagoa and Phyton were more than enough for me. Still, it was amazing to see so many gay flags flying around Aurora and Arocha Street. Next to the Arocha cinema is a little café/bar that isn't technically listed as a gay venue, but everyone there was definitely gay. There were a lot of trans girls too, especially around the entrances of the sketchier cinemas. I just kept walking, trying not to stand out too much as the only gringo in sight. It was certainly an adventure. I’ll check it out again over the weekend to see if it's any different once the sun goes down.

Until next time, please don’t mind my spelling or clarity. If I don’t write now, I won’t later.

Lastly, yes, 200

Lagoa seems full a lot...... but at the price point walking out the door, I'll be going more to Python though, thought the vibe there is friendlier, as I mentioned like in the Fragata days....I enjoy talking/joking with the other customers, and the Python guys are happy if they get 1 programa, not trying to rack up as many possible like in Lagoa..... although I do have the numbers of a few Lagoa guys for when I don't feel like going out on a slow night, works well for both of us.
