Nice reports Joizy, is this your Sakaki https://md.gvdb.org/20345/ ?

I def remember him from a number of JGVs over the last few years

Not sure if that’s him. The guy I hired had a scar on his upper chest. I can’t tell from the photos if this guy has it.

I booked Sakaki for more fun this afternoon and I was just looking at his profile. It mentions that he is a video model, so I guess that is him. It’s hard to tell from the photo. I’d have to watch one of the videos to know for sure. He’s definitely a pro and really seems to enjoy the work.

With the current exchange rate, seems like hiring guys from japan is comparable to hiring guys from jupiter or muscular guys in KL... I might need to rethink my next destination lol

Just did the comparison, 16000 yen for 100min service inclusive of travel and outcall. Thats barely over 3.5k baht... Or usd100 or rm450...

True , hiring guys in Bangkok is nearly going into Western prices.

The continuing low rate of the ¥ against most other currencies has led to a major revival in tourism. Year on year, the figures for May are up 21.5%. Year to date they are up just over 24%. 63.6% of tourists now are from East Asia - in order of numbers South Korea, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Not sure about AirBnB, but many 3-star hotel prices presently seem reasonable. By mid-September they rise quite a bit as this gets into a period when additionally many Japanese travel, especially in November/early December when the leaves turn colours.

I've never hired in Japan, either went to saunas or Grindr....

Looking at some of these sites, they're confusing.... with all the add-ons and extras, It looks like buying on a discount airline and by the time you're finished, it's a lot more than it seemed..... or is it me having @Olddaddy moments?

Symbols and terms like= back uke - back uke- dating course-

I'm going to put a long layover or should I stay for a couple of days.... hotels aren't cheap that's for sure.

In case I did a long layover, which recommended agency is the easiest to get to from HND airport ?

Or a reasonable priced hotel that you could bring someone over without hassles?

I agree. I am reading these reports avidly and thinking this all sounds wonderful, but the form filling looks like a pain and the meeting venues don't seem to be simple, and is there a box to tick to allow for spontaneity!

Then think about how much more complicated the form filling would be for a versatile couple looking for a versatile third........555

What?

Spontaneity?

In Japan?

Surely you jest! 😂

The boys I've hired were spontaneous  enough!

It may look complex, and a touch sterile, but I found it quite easy, and the advantage is that you get what it says on the box! I get them to come to the hotel, a little extra, sorts out directional issues, and is more relaxing!

Forget the forms. Just email them.

I have been looking at the Reborn website and it is not immediately clear that they offer escort services. There is no information on what the boys will do - top, bottom, or side. How would you know their scope of service?  Their hourly rate is also a bit lower than other agencies, although it's probably similar after adding all the extra charges.

I’m going to miss it here. Between the saunas, a few guys from Grindr, and the few guys I’ve hired, I have had a so much fun.

Tokyo has so many delights to offer. In over four decades of visiting the city and two years living there, I never found any place as complicated as Re:Born. Finding an escort in one of the more regular escort services is really so easy. On the other hand, the city is so big and public transport so incredibly easy as long as you aim to be home before it closes just before midnight, there are obviously so many out of the way gay places that most foreigners know nothing about. Inevitably finding these can be more difficult and as @joizy's post mentions there can be difficulties to overcome. But for those prepared to give it a try, occasionally little gems can be found.

I never used rooms in the venues. Always had boys come back to my hotel - and they always arrived exactly on time.

Tokyo is now offering another delight - almost no mainland Chinese anywhere in Tokyo.

Normally, the pharmacies are so full of them, all carrying baskets and buying up everything in sight. If you managed to somehow get inside the store, it was impossible to enter any of the narrow aisles. This meant that locals were unable to buy from the stores.

Now, they are virtually empty.

Yesterday I was anctually able to walk down Nakamise-dori, which is the street selling souvenirs leading to temple. Normally, you'd just let yourself be pushed along with the crowd.

The lack of Chinese was most evident in the Don Quijote store we visited. (It sells everything ever manufactured in the world that can be put on a shelf!) Absolutely deserted, with more staff than customers. It's a store frequented mainly by tourists, not local people, so they are really feeling the pinch. A staff member said the Chinese just seemed to have disappeared over night, but that he was enjoying the quiet atmosphere throughout the store.

I wonder if there has been a subsequent increase of Chinese visitors to Thailand and other Asian countries?

Yeah, there was some incident where the Chinese were offended and canceled all plans to visit Japan. I wasn’t sure how long this would last, but glad to hear it. I was in Kyoto during Lunar New Year and it was ridiculous. I got up before dawn to visit the most popular spots, but the streets were often packed with throngs of Chinese and it was impossible to walk. I’m returning to Tokyo and Nagoya in the spring around the time of cherry blossoms. I might actually get to enjoy them without huge crowds.

Soon after she took office, Japan's new Prime Minister publicly stated that Japan might have to act militarily if China took Taiwan by force. This infuriated President Xi whose stated goal (which may not be enforceable for a whole bunch of reasons) is to reunite Taiwan with the mainland. He repeated this is his New Year speech. I suspect the Japanese PM had no real idea of the muddy waters she had suddenly stepped into (which all her predecessors had wisely avoided), but China has made its fury felt. Thousands of flights have been cancelled and hotel bookings cancelled. in January  it is estimated that 2,195 - 40.4% - flights from China have already been cancelled The continuing loss of tourism revenues is really hurting the Japanese tourism industry now, with the consequent effect for the rest of us of lower hotel prices.
