New Electronic Arrival Form

Recommended Posts

I know there is a thread somewhere on this and apologies I cannot find it! I arrived yesterday and remembered to complete the new electronic arrival info the day before. But the site seems still something of a mess. When it comes to your country of residence, you are provided with a list of countries. The list I received was a total mess, it was not in alphabetical order and I could not find Thailand which I had been informed is now included. Nor could I find Great Britain but I did find Scotland! Then when it came to inserting my address in Thailand it would not accept any typing at all. At Immigration, the officer was understanding and took my address verbally. When I suggested the site still needed some work, she looked at me, smiled and nodded her head!

I wonder if any member has been able to complete that form in full.

I am assuming you are referring to the TDAC Thailand Digital Arrival Card? I recently completed one and little problems in doing so.  I did recheck the form and see there is listed SCT - Scottish and GBR - British.  As far as my address, I used the Country listed on my Passport and the State in that Country of my residence.

I completeled the form on my phone. May I ask if you used your phone or a computer?

My confusion basically stemmed from the fact that the country listing was not in alphabetical order. It was in no logical order whatever! Perhaps I should just have typed in GBR rather than wade through and try and find it. But then not being able to type anything in the Thailand address lines seemed weird.  Yet even without that, I still got the emailed QR code!

I completed the form on my phone.  When I checked it today, I use my computer.

Google has just  led me to various unofficial, money-making sites. Beware.

It is very easy to sort out: look for GO.TH domain name

Countries are listed by 3-sign international country code (like in your passport) by ISO 3166-1

The strange thing I found was when I came to the Citizenship country, it was all over the place. No alphabetical order and, as far as i was concerned, impossible to find GBR (or Hong Kong where I am a permanent resident). I tried several times. That's why I clicked on Scotland! when it suddenly appeared! The lady at the Immigration counter seemed to accept that there are still a few bugs in the system that need to be ironed out!

My first experience with  the new system yesterday. And it was odd.

I was elevated to the Priority line at BKK a few years ago and have never had to queue for  than more five minutes over many entries.

But yesterday was something else.

The signage to the Priority line was poor. Three officials I asked gave me contradictory answers. And when I finally arrived, there was a long queue. I stood for twenty plus minutes, clutching my QA code in my hand until I was finally seen by the officer.

Nothing different as far as I could see. At no stage was I asked for the QA, nor was it scanned. I continued on to luggage retrieval just as I've been doing for a few years.

Have I missed something? was the system inoperative?

You mean they entered the details from my passport and cross-referenced them with my application. OK, sounds plausible.

May I ask whether other travellers  scanned their applications? or saw them being scanned by the Immigration Official? In my wanderings in search of the correct queue, I thought I saw a line of machines being used for something or other.

However, the fact that yesterday, a low season day,  queues were longer than before needs explanation. The arrivals hall was jammed with huge numbers of travellers trying to pass through Immigration.

I arrive tomorrow,  and will report. I can use VIP/priority lane.

I came to BKK 2 days ago.  Completed TDAC, passport and Boarding pass are all that is needed.  Line was quite long, otherwise no issues.
