Olddaddy Posted Sunday at 11:14 PM Posted Sunday at 11:14 PM A very interesting thing I noticed is when people get "older" they tend to lose their balance It affects their walking and daily life where they become dependent on a stick 🏒. I won't name the member here who says he has to use a walking stick because it's confidential and I don't wish to embarrass someone But Riobard uses a walking stick and he wouldn't be the only one on this forum It's becoming what you would say as "normal " Losing your balance is not normal Look , don't get me wrong , I remember when I was a kid seeing far far more old people using walking sticks than today I was in the gym this morning here on cold sunny Sydney at 4am. Only one other guy in the gym at that time ,an elderly Asian man👴 who seen me staring at him. He was I guess late 70's or looked it ,walking slow with a limp going to exercise bike I walked over to him "I noticed you to walking funny I said.....look like your limping .? He took his music headphones off 🎧 and looked at me I repeated my sentence he didn't say a word but sat on the exercise bike looking at me like a stunned mullet🐟😳😳 "You need to do more glute and butt exercises I said to him. " "Get your old butt working " He listened at me and without a word put his 🎧 back on and rudely said ....GO ! GO ! Waving his hand at me in a away gesture !!!!!!🙋♂️ Rude old man won't listen and instead is using arm gym machines instead of glute exercise Next time I see him I will ignore him floridarob and Mavica 1 1 Quote

Olddaddy Posted Sunday at 11:28 PM Author Posted Sunday at 11:28 PM But on a serious note it really makes me annoyed at these limping old men who are you using a exercise bike instead of doing weighted squats He was just a rude old Asian man who looked like Dr miwalgi out of karate kid unicorn 1 Quote

Round-the-clock squatting anywhere represents life imbalance. Mavica 1 Quote

" "Get your old butt working "... Wow. Insisting on giving unsolicited advice, especially to a stranger who clearly indicates he's not interested, constitutes the height of rudeness. There are countless reasons a person may have a limp, including joint problems, neurological problems, muscular problems, congenital problems, injuries, autoimmune conditions, and so on. He's certainly well-aware of his limp, and has probably consulted a qualified health professional for a diagnosis. Your personal (uneducated) opinions were unwelcomed, superfluous, and offensive. This is the second time in short order when you've self-described offensive behavior towards innocent people (the other being the offensive language you used towards a physician who was trying to help you). If you've always been a loner and aren't interested in social interactions, this may be your norm. However, if you've previously been able to function socially, and this is a change in behavior, there may be some neurological condition which needs attention. In any case, chewing out your physician, and accosting strangers at the gym don't qualify as acceptable conduct. Consider yourself lucky if the man at the gym didn't complain to the staff. Physicians, I suppose, are used to dealing with difficult patients, though at some point there are limits. Latbear4blk, TMax and Riobard 2 1 Quote

Members Riobard Posted 14 hours ago Members Posted 14 hours ago Come. On. It was a parable. Wisdom of restraint. Nobody referenced in the posts literally uses a cane, other than for metaphorically rapping knuckleheads’ knuckles, and isn’t athletically fit. unicorn 1 Quote

This forum has all types 😳😮 but what I have been thinking ...or what my psychiatrist calls "ruminating" is you with your walking 🏒 stick which you admitted having , and doing no squats which means one side of your body is weaker than the other , Please don't take this the wrong way but the side that is the weakest , is the glute cheek also weak ? Would the glute cheek be smaller say than the right side? I always have a fascination for those with walking sticks , it obviously means one side is weaker ? Is that the case ? I tend to look at their glute or as I should call it...butt cheeks,, to see if one is smaller than the other It's a balance issue I believe Quote

Headphones on in a gym is a social cue you might have missed. I go to the gym frequently and the last thing I want is someone interrupting me to tell me what workout they think i should do. If it is a personal trainer correcting form to prevent injury that's one thing, but some old man telling me to do glutes because he thinks he saw a limp, well.. Go! Go! was rather polite of him. unicorn, TMax and Latbear4blk 3 Quote
