sudoxi Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Hello everyone, im planning my second trip to Thailand, reading the forum last year I got some great advice that helped me a lot. This year I wanted to spend some extra time in Thailand so I’m likely going to go for 22-23 days. I want to spend a week at the beginning of my trip in pattaya and the rest in bangkok. onto my questions, for pattaya reading the forum it seems like the best area to stay is Jomtien. I want to of course hang out at the beach, do some shopping, eat some more amazing food and of course visit the bars, I have been reading trying to determine which hotel to stay at. The forum seems pretty decided that Agate is the best value and from my pricing search it seems so, I’m just confirming it seems like there is no issues bringing guests back and it is right in the heart of the action. Besides Jomtien, should I also be visiting boyztown? If you decide to bring boy back is this too far from my hotel in Jomtien? I will likely book a car from BKK to take me directly to the hotel as I prefer the certainty for a new destination. In bangkok, last year I stayed at Furama silom. I stayed in an executive suite and really liked it. I was going to book again this year however prices are nearly double what I paid last year. So for this year I’m leaning towards the quarter saladaeng, I’ve searched this on the forum however there is only two pages of results, I have read them all even how minor a mention. It seems like guests are not an issue correct? I’m feeling very confident in this selection based on the limited reviews on this forum and the YouTube reviews I have looked over. I will likely be visiting in October similar to last year, and will gladly post trip reports like I did. thanks for any advice you can give! Quote
zoomomancs Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Yes, try Boyztown. Get Bolt app on phone for fast travel back from Boyztown to Jomtien with man. Agate is fine. I always book room for two, though alone. Consider East Suites for larger rooms. Quote

CallMeLee Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago From my trip last year, I never had an issue bringing my boy du jour to my room at Quarter Saladaeng. Just be sure your booking specifies 2 person (just in case) Quote

I usually do a few days in BKK, Pattaya then a few days in BKK at the end..... because coming/going BKK is a little closer and depending on flight times, more convenient. Could plan the trip between BKK and Pattaya in the middle of the day when there's less traffic and timed with hotel checkin/checkout times. Then the shopping in Bangkok, which is better, at the end so I didn't have to lug the purchases between hotels. vinapu and PeterRS 2 Quote
vinapu Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago cheaper and still comfortable options in Jomtien Complex is The Venue and Zing Resort, both in complex itself. Getting from Boyztown to Jomtien is no problem day or night, Bolt, motorsai or baht bus , all available. If you want to stay in Boyztown area I suggest Classrooms above ABomb boy bar or Copa in Boyztown proper. No issue with guests in all hotels mentioned in all posts of this thread so far, speaking from personal experience. pong2 1 Quote
Travellerdave Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I spend the majority of my Thailand 2/3 week trips in Pattaya and in recent years I’ve stayed within Jomtien Supertown (The Complex), which has now deposed Boystown as the premier gay area. The Agate would be a good choice and it’s becoming more popular so don’t wait too long before making your reservation. Its main competitor, in Supertown, is the Zing Resort which is cheaper and has a variety of room sizes and a larger pool . Both are guest friendly and well known to the bar boys and as a single gay guest I’ve occasionally found friends amongst the other residents. Supertown is walking distance from the Jomtien airport bus terminal which can be also convenient for transport to Bangkok city . I prefer the bus to taxis for safety reasons, and only use motor cycle taxis when speed is required and would not rent a motor cycle which I used to do years ago. Always have safety in the forefront of your mind especially in unfamiliar settings ! vinapu 1 Quote
vaughn Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I might be a minority opinion here but I personally don't like Agate anymore, thin walls and families staying there have made my last few stays less enjoyable. I do like Poseidon and East Suites, I'm yet to stay at The Venue or Zing. I'll second Classrooms and Copa for Boyztown. No issue at any of the above for guests. Classrooms has an entrance beside the bar where you bypass the bar and can go straight up to your room, the rest that i've stayed at will hold the guests ID. floridarob and vinapu 2 Quote
Kiwi306 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I'm a fan of Quarter Saladaeng and always stay there when I arrive in Bangkok, mainly to chill out, unwind from jet lag and adjust to the time zone (Thailand being 5 hours behind). But then it's time to move closer to the action. Saladaeng is certainly within walking distance, but I prefer to just walk around the corner when I am offing a guy. If the rates are favourable, I go for Quarter Silom, otherwise Tarntawan. By the way no matter where I am staying I usually go to Quarter Saladaeng for their buffet breakfast, which is 199 baht. The dining room staff always make me feel welcome. Agate and Zing Resort and Spa are just a short walk to the beach. I haven't stayed at hotels in the Boyztown area, as am worried about noise levels there. vinapu 1 Quote
