Trip Report Quick & Dirty Bangkok Stopover – 2 Nights of BBC

Just got back to Sydney after the most insane 48 hour layover in Bangkok en route to Dubai. Originally only planned as a quick overnight to break the long flight from SYD, but after reading a couple of recent reports here about the growing number of  African students and workers in BKK… let’s just say I re-booked the Dubai leg for two days later before I even landed.

Flight & Arrival

Landed in BKK around 16:40. The second I switched off airplane mode, Grindr exploded, 50+ taps in the first five minutes,  I hadn’t even cleared immigration yet and already had messages blowing up my phone. Took the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai then MRT + short Grab ride to the hotel. 

Hotel

Night 1 – Wednesday

•  3000 THB short time seems to be the going rate right now for the top-tier African pros, worth every baht.

Verdict

Best quick stopover of my life. Three absolute stallions, zero attitude and hotel was perfect. I'm already looking at flights for a full week in May dedicated solely to the African boys in Bangkok.

not picking on report but other will be reading it and may get wrong idea.

You took BTS (overhead railway) from Phaya Thai. MRT is subway (underground). One can get to Silom area by MRT by alighting from ARL (airport train) at Makkasan station  and then taking MRT to Silom station. 

Route you took is much preferable to newcomers  as more city can be seen from train.
