Day 18

Woke up took a walk then pre pack my stuff. Lunch at Foodland.IMG_1966.thumb.jpeg.0255075799d01169b0951b311eec7279.jpeg

Next I walked to Arena.  A guy from last trip was there, I hadn’t seen him on previous visits this trip,  Still got a massage from my this trip regular.  Great as always.

Then I crashed, hard .  I almost overslept.  Off to Gs for dinner meeting several board members.  Next Circus and finally Jupiter I couldn’t stay to long both the music was too loud for me and my allergies were still bothering me.  After that back to hotel for some quiet and a pill.

Good day!  Great to meet people and put faces to some names.

Nice to have met you!

The same here, it was nice to meet last night. I thought you did not like blast from speakers, at Jupiter and it's why you left. They are working hard on making their boys deaf as soon as possible.

I said music was to loud, by which I meant painful.

Final day, slept in, finished packing then down to hotel restaurant around 1130 after 15-20 minutes and no sign of anyone working I headed to Foodland and picked up Milo Kit Kathy’s to take home as I really liked these.  Then following old rule “life is short eat dessert first! “  I had banana fritters again, love these!

Then to Sarica for cashew chicken and a quick hello to forum members and of to airport where I arrived in time to have one last mango sticky rice at Mango Tree in the satellite terminal.

Omg your making me jealous.....not to mention hungry 😛😋😋

Agree, the Milo Kit-Kats are something else. Top-tip, if eating the fingers, store them in the freezer, find it improves the taste.

However, nothing beats a Cadbury's Double Dipped Cherry Ripe. For some obscure reason, only available in AUS & NZ.

You can get them in the US from Amazon, but you have to buy a case of 24 bars.  You cannot get just one or a small quantity.

Use to do the same in the UK as a traditional Christmas treat. When I was out in AUS in July, brought 200 back, however all gone by Christmas.

Kaprow.... have you tried it at Tarntawan, is one of my favorites...

Based on your recommendation of the "orgasmic pad krapow" at the Tarntawan Hotel, I decided to try it today for lunch.

OMG, two bites into it, and I was breathing fire from the chilies.  I agree it tastes good, but I had tears in my eyes from the heat.  By the time I finished the dish, I must have looked like a mess, what with tears running down my face, and my nose running non-stop from the hellish heat.  Eating this dish is similar to being pepper sprayed in the face, certainly not an orgasmic experience for me.

I hightailed it to the nearest 7-Eleven to buy a yogurt, in a desperate but futile attempt to douse the persistent inferno in my head.  Now a few hours later, the fire has subsided.  Never dismiss the importance of specifying the spiciness level when ordering food in Thailand.

Those chili pieces are devious, in the way they blend in, wrapped under a wilted holy basil leaf in the krapow sauce.  And the Thais love to use both the red and green chilies in the same dish, for added intensity.  The green chili pieces are absolutely sinister.  Just a warning for others - this Tarntawan dish is the genuine napalm flamethrower local Thai version of pad krapow, not a tamed down tourist variety of the dish.

Thanks for the recommendation, but I think I'll try something else next time.🔥

Why did you not ask the restaurant for brown sugar? Just put a teaspoon of brown sugar in your mouth and the heat from the chilli’s instantly dissipates.

Let us know if it worked on you. I my be interested. I can eat spicy dishes but effect on me is that for next 6-8  hours everything from steak to ice cream tastes the same, it s why I avoid them.

To heal a burnt tongue from eating spicy or hot foods, try having something with a high fat content, for example, full cream milk, yogurt, cottage cheese or ice-cream. The fat would help coat the burn. A teaspoonful of honey could also work.
