The ethnic Thai-Muslims are indeed a beautiful feature of southern Thailand, and there are thriving Indian communities who have been in Thailand for generations and run many important business industries including gems, textiles. Far less desirable is the conversion of parts of Pattaya and Phuket into Indian ghettos, staffed entirely by imported labour direct from India. I saw many of them in the immigration queue at Phuket airport last month. coming to work as chefs in vegetarian restaurants, or cleaners. They are basically bringing an entire ecosystem straight from India to Thailand, entirely to fuel cheap Indian tourism.
