I am devastated and truly saddened that my dearest sister and forum member MsAnn (also known as BigValboy) has passed away... My heart breaks. A longtime contributing member here and "there", she was always kind and supportive of ME no matter how difficult things got on the boards with other members or Daddy, and always brought a smile to my with with her kind words of encouragement... I never got to meet him, but we had planned it several times, but the comraderie we shared will not be forgotten. Often WE were spoken about in the same breath by other members and referred to as the Laverne and Shirley of the boards... He hated Trump as much as i did, so I a…

From Bangkok Post The Finance Ministry has discussed managing the baht's movements with the Bank of Thailand in a bid to help exporters and recoup the economy amid a tourism slump. The export sector plays an important role in helping stimulate the economic recovery as the tourism industry remains battered by adverse effects stemming from the pandemic, said Finance Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith. At BarBarBar in Thong Lor, Thais get in free, but foreigners are asked to step aside to the booth and either pay 500 baht or buy a bottle of alcohol before entering the venue. Bouncers outside BarBarBar check everyone’s IDs before they enter, making sure they’re at least 20 years old. But foreigners are pointed to the booth and are basically vetted before entering. From Bangkok Post Inequality will be a prime concern for Thailand once the economy recovers from the pandemic, although a return to full health is not expected for another two years, according to Bank of Thailand (BoT) governor Sethaput Suthiwart-Narueput. Mr Sethaput said the assumptions around the impact of Covid-19 have changed, leading to the need for new measures and policy implementations to curb the country's economic doldrums. "It is expected to take at least two years before the Thai economy returns to its pre-pandemic levels in term of GDP," Mr Sethaput said in a meeting with some local media editors.
