  1. Just a heads up that as of January 26, all international travelers to the USA, including US Citizens, will need to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of your flight. There is a similar requirement for entering Brazil. In Brazil, there is testing at GRU airport in Sao Paulo in Terminal 3 with CR Diagnosticos and they advise that you arrive 6 hours prior to your flight if you are flying the same day to ensure you get your results in time. https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0112-negative-covid-19-air-passengers.html

Hi Guys, I thought I would give a quick update about my most recent trip to Rio. I’ve been in Brazil the better part of the past 3-4 months. But in mid-December, I went home for what I thought would be a few months. On a last-minute whim with encouragement from friends, I decided to go back to Rio for New Years'! I booked my flight on the 29th with Delta, a one-way to SP, for about $350 and arrived in Brazil on the 31st. The flight time did not leave me much time for a PCR test as rapid is not accepted. I found a laboratory in Atlanta that would do the test with same-day results for $180. There were about ten people who I observed that were not allowed to board…

I’m going back to Salvador the week of Nov 8th. Flights are extremely cheap right now so I’m going to work out there for a week or two. Found a great apartment for $30/day, there are even some decent apartments for under $20/day. Let me know if you will be in town and we can hit the sauna together.

Cuba is undergoing economic reform, since January 1, 2021, the Caribbean island is experiencing the process of monetary unification, that is, the Cuc no longer exists, only the Cup, which in the exchange rate is equivalent to 24 cup = 1 dollar, did things get cheaper or more expensive?

I have been to Mexico and several Central and South American countries, but this was my first foray into Cuba. I spent 6 days in Havana and the surrounding area. This report encompasses my impressions of the city and the scene in Havana. There are still many beautiful men in Havana. There are MANY guys trying to make money by having sex with tourists. The scene is mostly on the street, but also at the bars, and there are some peculiarities that I have not experienced elsewhere. On my first night, I strolled down to the base of “La Rampa”, or The Ramp, which is a five-block-long incline that leads from the high point at Ave 23 and L Street down to the Malecon on …

Hi BT members! Just here to drop a review of my most recent trip to SDQ. After testing positive for Covid a few months back I’ve had the itch it get back to traveling. So When DR opened its borders, I booked my flight shortly after. The AA flight coming in was 100% to capacity, it seemed like tourist and family were excited about getting back to DR. I stayed in an Air B&B per usual as they have no issue with guest. My first night I contacted Christian who hooked me up with a couple new guys. Two tall slim dark skinned guys, they were entertaining and ended up staying the night. Christian’s guys are overall pretty decent. Sure there are some bad apples but ove…

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro has been arrested for corruption. The governor is in trouble too. Such a pretty city and such a corrupt government! https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2020-12-22/rio-de-janeiro-police-arrest-mayor-carcelo-crivella-corruption

  15. Apparently, curfew hours are 2 hours earlier during the week. Thanks to @SolaceSoulfor the heads up. (See below). Should I make it work or are there suitable alternative destinations? Having to be inside before 7pm for 9 days seems unbearable; and staying home isn’t an option for me. Please see my post and response below from a different board. I was considering ensuring I stay at a hotel with adequate amenities. Cine Lido appears to be a fail on weekends as opening at 6 pm leaves very little time to explore the place. Can anyone provide any tips to maximize experience with curfews in DR for individuals staying at least a week? —————————…

Finally made it to Bogota, but it definitely was a tumultuous trip. Having said that, it's totally worth the trouble! Day 1: Extremely early flight. However, when 3/4 of the passengers got onboard, we were told there was a diesel spill, so everyone had to evacuate immediately. Long story short, by the time the flight took off, it was already 2 hours later than originally scheduled. By the time I got to Toronto, the flight had already left for Bogota. Air Canada had to rebook me, put me in a hotel near the airport and arranged food and stuff. To make matters worse, my luggage was already in the international section that had cleared customs. So to retrieve my lug…

Missed going to Bogota...Last time I left in February 2020 right before national lockdown. Going to go back in month and wanted to see what venues/historical sights are currently open? I contacted the owner of the Gigolos which also operates sauna in the same building but they don't have the date of re-opening yet.

From wapo.com: In Rio de Janeiro, where the virus has already killed tens of thousands, upturned the economy and sent rates of homelessness soaring, moments that recall the darkest days of the pandemic are once more appearing in the news. Sick people, unable to get help in the medical system, are again being found dead at home. Lines stretching into the hundreds are forming for intensive care beds. Hospital officials are warning of supply shortages and an imminent collapse in medical services. Even the vaunted private heath-care system reached 98 percent capacity in its intensive care units this past week,…

Those who read this forum regularly know that I have a 2nd home in Merida Yucatan, Mexico. I have been asked many times why Merida? what's the gay life like there? Costs to live there? etc? I, like many people had never heard of Merida(it is 90 miles west of Cancun). Florida Rob on this site is a good friend of mine for close to 15 years and he had moved there and opened a restaurant and told me I should visit him. His stories about how all the guys in Merida "are gay or if they aren't they want to be" lol, sounded so over the top that I wanted to go and find out. Merida is the capital of the state of Yucatan and has a population of over !,000,000 It is consid…

Planning a solo trip to PVR for mid-December. Although I used to be a frequent traveler to SE Asia, this will be the first time I’ve gotten on a plane in quite a while and my first time in PVR since 2017. I’m 38 and in decent shape so I plan to use the apps while there some but would certainly not be oppose to meeting a few young very attractive guys in the sauna or bar or at the beach or wherever. I also love a good massage. Has anybody been to PVR in the time of COVID? Any recommendations?

Will you consider traveling to Brazil between now and the end of November given the current situation? I am just curious where the rest of the group stands regarding resumption of travel to Brazil.
