March 16Mar 16 I was in Quito in 2024. Yes it felt safe. The historical city centre is very nice/lots of sights but is dodgy at night/not a place to walk around at night. Choose your accommodation in/around Mariscal Sucre or La Floresta (the latter is a very nice upscale area with restaurants, bars etc and safe for walking around at night) Currency is USD and the rates for sex is higher than in Colombia (maybe on par with Medellin snd Cartagena). As I recall it the absolute minimum is 30 USD for a quick session with ordinary guys off Grindr.
