I particularly loved Cusco, the stopping off point for most people visiting Machu Picchu. I stopped in Mexico City on the way to Brasil this trip instead of Cancun, stayed 1 night at the Hilton Airport and 3 at the Hampton Inn Centro Histórico. Just come back from a trip from Mexico City so I thought I'd give an update. Arriving at the airport there are self service passport checks at the border. As you come into arrivals - turn right and you'll find the official taxi payment processors DO NOT go outside and get your own taxi. It's about 300 pesos to the city.
