Over the years I have stayed many times in Egypt. My most recent stay was for one month traveling between Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan.
CAIRO: It used to be the case that the Khan el-Khalili market provided young men for sex, but that is largely no longer the case. The same could be said for the nearby Egyptian museum where I had a number of trysts over the years. Today, things are much less exciting and far more dangerous. The secy male vendors at the market will certainly gay bait you to buy some of their items, and even hold hands with you saying they are hard, but they never seem to want to leave or arrange a time for sex.  I did find one vendor down a side alley that never gets visitors that was willing. I entered his shop, he stood really close as I looked at his items, and then he smiled and rubbed two of my fingers. When I smiled back and squeezed his hand, he said he was hard, liked me, and wondered if I liked “Egyptian Sausage”? I said yes but expected him to not be willing to try anything. He then said times were tough and he could use a little money. We negotiated and he then proceeded to close the doors of his shop. We then did the deed there in his closed shop. Thereafter, I have always visited the shops in the side alleys of the Egyptian cities where I have been quite lucky many times. I stayed this time at the Nile Hilton Hotel which, as you will see on the internet, always has a few guys in the lobby, the bar, and the health club for you to sample. Most were just a bit too professional for my taste, and I was always a bit wary that I might get set-up. As you will read, Grindr and Bathhouse raids are the norm right now in Cairo, so gays must be extremely vigilant. I had a number of hotel encounters and the one market encounter.
LUXOR: Luxor is filled with sexy guys, scary guys, and scamming guys. The scamming guys are the young ones that are along the pedestrian sidewalk on the east side. They will start talking with you, ask you to come see their boat, and then once you are there the real boat owner appears trying to get you to contract a journey. One guy even got me to the boat, started to push off, and out popped the owner as the boat was about to pull away. Luckily, I jumped back on the ramp before it went off. So, the boat guys are mostly scammers although the exceptions can be found like in Aswan (see below). The sexy AND scary guys were the horse carriage drivers. If you walk along the Nile walkway, just make eye contact with the carriages until you see a sexy driver you want to try. I usually negotiate a price for a tour and specifically say I do NOT want a stop for water, tea, a rug, or a restaurant. In every case the young driver will ask if I am married. When I say no they then ask if I am gay. I smile and shake my head yes. They will then ask if I like “Egyptian Sausage” or “Egyptian Banana” to which I smile and say yes. It is then that you negotiate with them for a quiet place somewhere to do the deed. The only time it is scary is when they return you to a location. No matter what price you agreed upon, then will go ballistic and demand more money. Hold your ground and hand them the money. They will throw their hands back and say they will not accept it. I then throw the money on the ground and walk away. The next day they will be so kind and want to do the same thing again to make money. The next group of sexy guys is the market guys late at night. I take a walk every evening and go down the side alleys to find shops that are not normally frequented. I have been very lucky in Luxor to find young guys willing to close the doors of their shop or take me to a side storage area to do the deed. Lastly, I have had good luck at my hotel. If you stay at a big hotel, be sure to frequent the pool area in the late evening when they are cleaning it. Likewise, when you see the male attendants cleaning your floor, stay around the room and make eye contact when they start to clean. They will always strike up a conversation and ask if you are married. After you say no, then their next response will determine if they are available for a little cash.
ASWAN: I have met tons of gay German tourists to this city over the years. One has been retired there and has shown me the ropes. The young guys here are available in the following: horse carriage drivers, young boat owner, market vendors, banana island, and camel drivers. The horse carriage drivers in Aswan operate the same as in Luxor (see above). As for the boat owners… one of the best ways to take advantage of these is to go to McDonalds and eat your meal at the tables facing the Nile. From there the boat owners will approach you asking if you would like a ride in their boat. I always offer to walk down and see their boat. Once there, they ask if I am married. When I say no, I then also ask what is down in the cargo area of the boat. They then will always want me to venture down with them. Once down a few steps, the guy will show his dick and ask the question of the sausage and banana. You can then do the deed right there in privacy after agreeing upon the price. I once did pay a boat owner for a felucca trip during which he offered his banana to me whilst he guided the boat up the Nile. At night, it is also possible to see many young boat owners taking people out on the Nile to see the night stars. I did this several times and once you are out on the Nile away from people in the darkness, he will ask if you are married. Once you say no, he will usually show what he has to offer and you can do the deed there in darkness on the Nile. Some of these same boat owners will say they will take you to “Banana Island” which you can google and will find is a real island on the west side of the Nile. Historically, it is nothing special except once you get there and are between the bananas, the young guy will pull out his offering and ask if you want a banana. It is a quick blow job given the limited time and space available. Similarly, the camel drivers on the west side are usually taking people to the old Coptic monastery. Take a cheap boat ride across the Nile from the east to that west area. Pause and take a look at the camel drivers. Once you find a guy you like, go up and ask a price to take you to the monastery. Once you are on your way, the guy will get on the camel with you behind him on the same seat. Your hands are around his waist and your crotch in his rear. Over the course of the trip, he will ask if you are married. Once you arrive at the monastery, the tour is self-service or the ticket man will show you around for a few wads of cash. Once you start your return journey to the original point, the camel driver will stop at a point where you can take some photos. It is here that he will show you what he has to offer and you can make an agreement to do the deed right there amongst the boulders of the desert overlooking the Nile. Surreal. I have visited that monastery too much, but I can’t just visit Aswan without sampling sexy young camel drivers.
PAY: Most want 100-200 Egyptian pounds ($7-$12 USD) for you to give them a blow job. When the location provides for more, they will ask 200-400 ($12-$25) for the deed. You can actually bargain them lower, but it is already really inexpensive. This will be in addition to any other prices for the carriage ride, camel ride, or boat ride. Those prices usually range from 100-400 pounds as well.
SEX: Every guy I met was active, would fuck, and would let you suck him. Only one in all my years has agreed to kiss.
    LANGUAGE: Arabic and some English.
GRINDR: If you do you are crazy.

I found nothing in Bodrum. I visited Izmir for three days on my way back from Ephesus, but it was two years ago. I visited three of the major gay friendly dance clubs/bars that were listed, but the problem was that I was staying with a friend so I could not bring anyone back. The CIX Club was gigantic. The moment I walked in I realized things would be interesting as everyone there was less than 30 years of age.  Everyone clearly knew what this old man came to find and it was NOT just to dance! Half the place starting smiling and walking up to chat, but it was also true that half of the place started reaching into my pockets and trying to steal from me. I went to Club KA and found mostly Kurds there who were straight for pay. They were sexy and ready to go, but again no place. The night I tried Gullum and there were only about 20 men in the place and 1 sure guy for rent. The bartender even told me I could take action to the lavatory, but the one rent guy was not worth it. The loos at the other two places were just too crowded to even try something. My plan had been to go back last year and find an airbnb nearby, but Covid hit. So, the fruit was ready to pick! The pick-pocket attempts were quite proliferous, though. An updated report would be ideal if you make it there.

    PART THREE:
OMNIA SQUARE (red outline area on map below): This place is brimming with Middle Eastern young men for sex. This is a place you either love or hate (as our other reviews here have shown)!!!! The whole square is very seedy, but the area for sex is the northwestern part of Omonia. This is the part in front of and surrounding the Hondos department store. The Syrian, Iranian, and Iraqis are usually sitting/standing at the top of the tube escalator that empties in front of the juice bar Gregores (red circle). The escalator that empties in front of Hondos (and the elevator area) usually has the Greeks and eastern Europeans (red circle). As you face Hondos, the side pedestrian street on the left side is filled with Afgans and Pakistanis. The same can be found on the right side of Hondos on the side walk. It is also the case that if you cross the street to your east you will find several outdoor cafes. One of them, whose name escapes me, you will find has old gay men sitting with their young male companions. I usually frequent the outdoor café/restaurant right in front of Hondos where I can sit and watch the boys on offer (dotted red on map). When I arrive at Omonia I usually take a complete walk around the Hondos center and then spend a few minutes seeing what is available by standing at the top of one of the two escalators. Now there is a nearby police station, so do not be so stupid as to do business in public. As to where you can go for sex, that is rather easy. All the boys will know that there are three possible sex hotels from which to choose. One is one block to the west (the one I prefer), there is one next to the Kosmopolit cinema, and then one more one block east of that. So, for those not familiar… once you negotiate what you want with the boy and how much to pay, you then proceed to the hotel. Just tells the boys to show you the hotel. You will probably pass a number of female prostitutes along the way who also use these hotels. Once you get to the hotel, you approach the clerk and hand over 5-10 euros depending on which hotel you go to. No id is required. I do this with one swift motion as I hand the 5 euro with my right hand whilst my feet continue to move to the elevator with the boy. It is usually the second floor if you choose the hotel west of Omonia, but that changes over time. The boy will know the floor. Once you get off the elevator, you will be in a hallway with about 10 rooms. There will probably be one or two couples (gay and straight with prostitutes) waiting ahead of you for a room. Once a room is clean, the maid will motion for you and you enter the room. It has a bed with one fitted sheet on top, tv with porn, a bathroom, two towels, and usually a condom. You have between 30-40 minutes until the maid will bang on your door. Most of the Syrians were especially phenomenal kissers and fuckers. Often they would also ask if I would fuck them as well. Interestingly to me, the Afgans always liked to get fucked and kiss.  My usual deal was 25 euro for the boy and 5 euro for the room. I have found it safe 99.9% of the time and only had one problem. I once got a boy back to the room and he stripped. I then looked and noticed he had a small discharge from his penis even before it got hard. It was clear he had gonorrhea or chlamydia , so I used google translate to tell him how to get some medical care. A friend of mine DID have one problem when a guy could not get hard to fuck him, so he paid the guy only 10. The guy went ballistic and would not allow my friend to leave until he paid more. My friend then started yelling for the maid who started banging on the door. The boy had to relent and my friend left. I never had problems and had some amazing repeat business with these boys. Most of these boys ALSO show up a few hours later at Victoria Park where they are also available for more sex.
TYPICAL DAY: I would begin the morning with work. Around 11:30 am I would take a nice walk to Omonia Square to see if there was a young male appetizer I might enjoy. I would walk completely around Hondos Center and then stand for a while at the top of the two escalators. I would always find someone. After going to the nearby hotel for sex, I would return and settle down at one of the cafes for lunch…usually the one right in front of the Hondos Center. During my time I would regularly make eye contact with another young man and invite him over for lunch. After lunch he and I would go to the sex hotel for some fun. I would then walk back to my place to freshen up and take an afternoon nap. Afterwards, I would walk over to Pedion Park for an afternoon to sample one of the guys there. Then, I would walk back to Omonia for some theatre action where I would always find one or two guys to my liking. After some sex, I would leave and have a coffee and enjoy one of those amazing Greek rice curd desserts they have. I would then return to the theater for one more round. After this I would walk up to Omonia Square and see what was on offer. I would always take at least one guy to the sex hotel for some fun, sometimes two. Afterwards, I would make my way to Victoria Park. They have some nice caffes with outdoor seating right off the top of the tube escalator that are perfect for eating dinner and watching boys. If I did not catch the eye of anyone special, then I would check Grindr or PlanetRomeo to see what was on offer. As was almost always the case, I would find someone in Victoria Park to take back to my place for a late-night snack. I would generally repeat this pattern, but add the two bars especially on Friday/Saturday nights when new guys would appear. For those not yet familiar with these areas, then simply use the street view of google maps and you can see pretty much everything that I noted above. Good luck and be sure to report back on your visits!

A FEW ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS ASKED:
Any thoughts on pickup on sellers in the souk? Not unlike the notes I mentioned for Egypt, the souk and markets of Marrakesh are similar. I usually go to these places late-night right after the fun in the Jemaa, and usually try the places off the main paths where less tourists frequent a seller. Its only when the vendor has no other friends around that they are open to discussing sex. When they have had no sales for the day then they seem very interested in business. I also look for places where they can easily close their door for business. This happened to me the last trip with a backpack vendor and a perfume vendor. My last trip I also talked with two fabric vendors. They had no place, but we arranged to meet the next day and go to the theatre for business. They were so good I did repeat business every day thereafter for my afternoon snack.
Do you go into the desert Berber areas? Yes. I have had good and bad experiences. First, I did the whole tourist desert day/overnight experience but being with a large group was a killer for sex. There were simply too many people around to safely do the deed. From Fez I decided to try a single tour guide/Berber experience. In this case, I met the service that drove me to the camels. From there I was led into the desert to the Berber village about a one-hour camel ride. The camel rider was much older and wanted sex for money, but I said I was not interested. Once we got to the big Berber tent, I was the only single guy there with the others being in a group. I got a private tent to myself as I had requested from the guide service. I started eyeing up the young men and one came to bring me some water in the evening and asked if I needed a pillow. I did as I usually do and it ended in a blow job. About ten minutes later he brought me his friend and then he got a blow job as well. When it was finished, I had 5 Berber young men, 100 dirham each, and it was worth it for the experience. The next day we all went on the half-day ride to the oasis. One of the young men from before was my camel driver. He was hard the whole time and I got to feel him up quite a bit since I was sitting right behind him. Obviously, he got a great tip afterwards. That night I had the same 5 guys again. The next morning before I left I awoke to two of them leading me over a dune to do it again. One watched at the top while I did the other with the sun rising; and then they switched. I gave them both 200 that time and they were thrilled. So, good and bad experiences. It all begins with a smile, the look of the eye, and the same northern African question… “Are you married”?
Do you need to know Arabic or French? I know neither language. What I do, though, is memorize again the French/Arabic words for 100 and 200 dirhams, and the French/Arabic words for yes and no. The rest can be done simply with gestures asking them for a yes or no if they will do it. They usually ask if I am married by gesturing to the ring finger where you would normally have a ring. When I say no, then it is accompanied by a smile and the look from me.
I want a boy for a night. How can I do that safely? Depends. I asked the gay couples I met at Café Atlas about this. They said there are two ways: The first is to give the money to your young man and have him rent a room in your hotel for the night. Then, just have him come to your room at an appointed time. This works in the cheaper tourist hotels that operate via cash as well as credit cards. I cannot imagine a single young man I had in Morocco would have a credit card. The second way is to rent a private Airbnb or similar. The couples suggested you meet a guy the first time and have sex somewhere outside in a park, alley, etc. If he gives you no problems afterwards asking for more money or demanding something additional of you, then invite him the next time to your Airbnb since he should be safe. Similarly, they said the owners of these Airbnb apartments are very cautious in checking the client bio’s. If they think you are gay and might bring back guys, they will often cancel you right before your arrival or else constantly watch your coming and going. So, you should change the bio to say you are married and have kids. In that way, even if you are booking just for yourself, they will not be as cautious and always watching.
Do I need to bring condoms? Yes. They will not ask to use one unless they are fucking you, but you should bring your own if you want to use them.
Where do you exchange money or get the 200 dirham notes? From any bank. Once I arrive in Morocco, I just get about 5000 dirhams ($550) of money from an ATM machine. I then take about 1000 and get the 20’s, and the other 4,000 for the 200 dirham notes. I write out on google translate what I want. I then hand the money to the teller and show them my request on my phone. I quickly start to accumulate coinage as I use the 200 notes for food and other things. Those coins I will use for the music groups in the Jemaa.
Do you have any experience with Egypt? Yes.  See my other report.

    PART ONE:
PRELIMINARY THOUGHTS: Here is a late update on my travels throughout Morocco. I traveled to Casablanca, Agadir, Fez, Rabat, and Marrakesh. All the cities had plenty of Arab men ready to offer their services in the street and via Grindr. But, the major obstacle mentioned elsewhere is very true… you have to have your own place. I was not able to find any “sex hotel” for short term stays, nor would the regular hotels allow me to bring any “guests” into the hotel even when paying for two people in a room.  I was only able to sneak in one man in Fez by meeting him at the entrance to the hotel (big chain hotel) for a supposed “business meeting”, letting the doorman and manager know we were going to the restaurant when they directly asked the man why he was there, and they then watched us actually walk to the restaurant on the second floor! A Moroccan friend told me that anyone seeing an older western man with a younger Arab man immediately knows what is happening. In my “business meeting” I paid for the meal, gave the young man my room number, exited first to the elevator, and then the young man walked separately to my room as if he was staying in the hotel. We then took the elevator back to the 2nd floor restaurant together after our deed and exited from there together to the 1st floor exit as if we had just finished our meal. In the end it was rushed sex and quite good, but it was a bit too risky. In Rabat and Casablanca I decided to try Airbnb.  I had been warned to NOT bring guys back to the Airbnb as they would try to blackmail me. Well, I gave it a try in Rabat and did ok. I brought back four guys during my stay there that I had met—three from the streets and one on Grindr. In Casablanca I met one guy at the famous caffe mentioned elsewhere and we walked back to my Airbnb. After the one-hour deed was done, I gave him the agreed upon 150 dirhams ($17) with another 50 dirhams for a tip. He then said he wanted MORE and would not leave until I gave him more. He tried to go through my luggage and such but I pushed him away. He then crawled into the bed and refused to leave. Threatening to call the police would do nothing since everyone knows the police will lock-up both the client and the escort. I relented and gave him another 200 dirhams. I showed him the 200, told him I would give it to him OUTSIDE the apartment, we walked out, and I gave it to him. Later he tried to buzz the doorbell of the apartment for several days after I had moved to another city. The owner texted me and asked if I had any problems and I told her this crazy guy kept asking for money while I was there. He could not admit he had had sex for money, since that in itself would have gotten him arrested. So, no more risking Airbnb I decided. In all cities but Marrakesh, there were just too many people always around to use the parks or side alleys for sex. I kept wondering why these Moroccans never seemed to sleep! I may consider doing other posts on the other cities in Morocco.
MARRAKESH: I had a little luck on Grindr, the movie theatre, two parks, and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square. I stayed at a hotel which once again did not allow guests. So, my activity was limited to other places. The main avenue to find guys is “Avenue Mohammed V” (hereafter AMV). I decided to stay at a cheap tourist hotel called “Hôtel La Renaissance Marrakech” on AMV which is located by the traffic circle called “Place Abdel Moumen Ben Ali”. That circle is famous for gays in Marrakesh because of two “coffee bars” that are located on the corners that seem to traffic heavily in gays. They are not gay bars, but they are certainly gay-friendly. Every morning I would rise from bed, get dressed, and have breakfast at one of those two bars. The bars are “Café Grand Atlas” and “Les Negociants”, both of which have outdoor tables. The Atlas seemed to always have single gays or gay couples eating at the outside tables, reading their newspapers, smoking, and watching available boys walk by. You can easily make eye contact with a boy and offer him a chance to have breakfast with you. It is clear that some of the older Arab men find their younger guys here and usually leave with them to go elsewhere. I met a few guys, but neither I nor they had a place to go to. The staff at the bars will allow only decently dressed guys to eat with you, so the lower income guys are not welcome. I then took a long walk east each morning on AMV to get my exercise. Once you pass the McDonald’s on your left and see the KFC on your right, you will be at the intersection of “Jardin 16 Novembre”. It is immediately east after this intersection on AVM that you will start meeting guys in the evening from the Pizza Hut to the circle known as “Place de la Liberte”. There was a famous bar frequented by gays (once a week) at this location called the Diamant Noir Club. The streets in this area are actually quite famous historically for picking up guys, but the guys seem to move locations based upon how often they are harassed by police. I should note that this is the one place in Marrakesh where I actually found passive guys. There are a number of side streets places you can scope out in the light so that you can know where (alley, park, abandoned buildings) to go to with the guys in the evening. I never had a problem with any of the guys I picked-up there. If you then continue east on AMV after the Place de la Liberte, you will find the stretch of road where I had the best luck. It is known as the Art Garden and has a number of benches facing the road and in the garden itself. The garden/park is quite beautiful and has two spots at night where it is dark enough to do a little quick action with a guy. At night I would sit there and watch over 50 guys come by making eye contact. If you are interested, you can ask the guy to go into the garden and talk. I found many guys here for fun and you can do the deed in the dark sections there, or at the nearby dark areas east of the Wall Marrakech Doukkala in the Municipal Palace Garden.  Now, if you keep walking east on AMV you will come to a little park on your right that is across from the Le Baratin restaurant and right before the large Koutoubia mosque. This is also quite famous for being the park where you can find guys. I found a number here who were willing to get sucked-off right in that park. It was quite scary given that the park is so open, but you will see this happening quite regularly. You can also take the guy down one of the side alleys to do the deed as well. If you walk across the road you will then be at the street leading to the world famous Jemaa El-Fna.  PART TWO FOLLOWS...

    PART TWO:
Now, nothing much happened during the day at the Jemaa. At night, however, some of the strangest rituals in the Middle East proceeded to happen. To prepare, you need to do the following: Store all your money and ID in your shirt pocket or travel pouch. Get yourself a jacket of some kind that zips up the front so no hands can get to shirt pockets. Then get yourself plenty of 20 dirham notes ($2) and fold then really small so they will separately be recognizable by your hand when placed in your shirt pocket. During the course of the evening you will NOT be able to look at the money, but just reach into your pocket and feel to pull out of the 20 dirham bills. You also need coinage that you will need to donate at various times to the music groups who have a man that comes around seeking donations. I kept the bills in my shirt pocket, the coins for the groups in my right pant pocket, and never took my right hand out except for a brief moment. You will see many music performers or groups that start to perform in the evening. As they perform, crowds will start to form a circle around them. Suddenly you will see old men in the first circle around the performers, and then another second circle will form. GET IN THAT SECOND CIRCLE! You will probably be the only foreigner in the group so you are going to notice that old and young men start to form beside and around you. For most, their goal is to pick-pocket you and take your money. As they start to put their hands into your pockets you need to give them a stern push and look. Be mindful that they usually operate in twos… one will do the touching and when you turn to him, the other is on the other side and goes for your other pockets. These guys will get really, really, really close to you and that is actually the norm. In fact, some of the guys are NOT there for pick-pocketing by only to have you play with their dick. Here is where I had some fun! Inevitably there will be some young guys that will stand next to you… actually, they stand right behind and beside you to your left or right. They will position their crotch to be where your hand is located. Remember, they are not there for the nice music. Give them a glance and then just look around to make sure there are people behind and around you both so that your hand actions cannot be seen. Then, let your hand drift to the young guys crotch to enjoy feeling his dick. It will start to get hard and he may even unzip for you to play with it. This is all done whilst you are still looking at the group performing. The music is not long, so the action will soon stop. At that point, I just reached through my jacket into my shirt pocket to take out a 20 dirham note. While still looking at the group, I then handed it to his hand without anyone knowing. I basically just paid $2 to cop-a-feel of a sexy young Arab guy. We all then walked away as we go to another group. The age range goes from very young to very old. If there is a guy you want to do more with, then turn to leave the group and give him the eye with a smile. As you walk away a short distance, stop and turn. He will usually follow and you can have a conversation. You can go to the nearby Parc Lalla Hasna park or theatre for some privacy to do more. After about one hour of feeling up various guys, I suddenly found young guys all around me for the rest of the evening seeking a little cash. They seemed to have told their friends what I liked and how to get a little extra cash. Over the course of two weeks, I easily enjoyed feeling 15-20 Arab cocks each evening whilst listening to music.
THEATRE: Right next to the Jemaa is a movie theatre showing regular movies. It is located on Passage Prince Moulay Rachid next to the Café Glacier Restaurant. That theatre has three levels. One of the boys I enjoyed at the Jemaa told me that if I gave him money for a theatre ticket and we went separately, then we could meet up later in the theatre for some better action. He was 19 and had the biggest dick for a young Moroccan that I had ever touched. We walked to the theatre, he paid his ticket, and then he went for the basement level down some steps. I then arrived five minutes later and did the same. That basement area of the theatre is actually the main floor and easily seats 300 people. The upper two levels are where couples go to make-out and cuddle. As you walk in, you will give the old man your ticket stub. He may try to seat you, and that is ok. If not, go to the far back left section of the theatre. This is where you may actually already find some young guys there ready to offer some sex for money. If you got seated by the old man, then just sit and wait a few minutes. Then as you get up be sure to eye your guy and you both can meet in that back left section. You can usually give your guy a full blow job there, or you can go to the rather dirty bathroom which had some stalls that you can use for fucking. PART THREE FOLLOWS..

    PART THREE:
SEX: I found guys for sex in the daylight hours only outside the Café Atlas and at the Theatre. At night, I found sex in all the other places already noted. 99% of the guys are active and will only get sucked or fuck. Strangely, many of these same active guys (about 75%) were willing to also do great kissing. The exception was near the Pizza Hut where I found passive guys that would do it all.
GRINDR: I had been warned that both police and crooks used Grindr in Marrakesh to steal from gay foreign men. I had plenty of messages and required each guy to video chat with me. When a guy would not, I simply blocked him. Most of the guys were dark skinned Africans who were only active and offering their services. In virtually every conversation it just didn’t feel right. I finally met up with one white skinned guy at McDonald’s one evening. I took him to a nearby park and had fun for about an hour. ALL the gays I met in Marrakesh warned me about Grindr scams, so I finally realized I had plenty of other guys I can find in much safer venues.
MONEY: Grindr guys asked for 500-750 dirhams ($55-$83). Street, Jemaa, and Theatre guys asked for 150-200 dirhams ($16-$22)
LANGUAGE: Most speak Arabic or French. You can get by with google translate but be warned that some street guys may try to steal your phone. For the most part, you can use gestures and number signs to flash what you want or will pay.
LOCATION: I used the parks, side alleys, and theatres.
WARNING: For the most part, I felt very safe in Marrakesh. I had only two scary moments in Marrakesh. The first was at the Art Garden where a man was walking home with a friend. A scooter suddenly pulled up, a guy grabbed the man’s briefcase, and then started to drive off. The man fought them off and the scooter sped away. The man was hit pretty badly and required an ambulance. I served as a witness because the police were nearby and caught the scooter by ramming it. Exciting action! The second really scary moment came near the Pizza Hut. I had finished with my evening and was walking back to my hotel along AMV. I stopped for only 30 seconds to give a young man a cigarette when he asked. Suddenly, a “tourist cop” pulled up and separated us. He talked with the young man and then placed him in the police car. He then came to me and asked for ID. I showed him a photocopy of my passport and told him in English that I was on my way back to my hotel. I asked him why he was detaining the young man. He asked if I knew him and I said no. He then said he was going to arrest the young man because he was talking to a foreigner which was not allowed. He said that for 1000 dirhams he would free the guy if I wanted to pay. I refused and the cop drove away with the young man. I saw the young man the next day on my daily walk and he said he had to pay the cop 300 dirhams and give him a blow job to not be arrested. I would find out from local gays that this kind of scam happens regularly with foreigners.
PLACES TO NOT GO: Locals gays noted regular police raids on: Cyber Park (A’rasat Mulay Abdeslam) and the Hammam Es Salam.
SUMMATION: I find Arab guys incredibly sexy and have had great times in Morocco. It is true that most want to get the most from you as possible, but we all already know that. Except for the Airbnb experience in Rabat, I felt safe most all the other times. Once the lockdown finishes, I plan to take another tour of the Middle Eastern and African men!!!

    PART THREE:
THEATRES: I could never get a definitive answer from the internet if the sex theatres were still open. Most said they were closed or no longer operating. If you look at them from the outside, you might think the same. I found three that were open and operating with NONE having air conditioning. It was like being back in a Times Square movie theatre from the 1970’s. The first two are located in that place in Manila where you can buy anything illegal that you want… right next to the Recto train stop! The largest place was Dilson Theatre located at 1608 Recto Ave, Quiapo. When you walk in, there will be trash around the entrance and the escalator will be broken. You pay for the 100 pesos ticket there on your right at the entrance. Then you go up the non-working escalator to a reception area where you will see about 15-20 young men standing around. As you go into the theatre, trust me when I say that about 15-20 young men inside there will suddenly start coming towards you. They will ALL say hello and start touching your dick even as you are only in the back section. They will ask you, “Would you like service?” I just say “Maybe later”. Get your bearing and find a seat where you can scope out the place. Guys will continue to come to you to offer their service. Now, this lower section is the section where you usually pay for the young men to give you a blow-job. Some will also engage in some passionate kissing as well if you ask. I actually had a number of my threesomes here with one guy kissing me while the other was giving me a blow-job. They would switch back and forth and it was amazing. Obviously, I had learned to keep my money safe since I was told by a gay older man that the guys would go through your pockets whilst giving the service. You should know that theatre is hot, reeks of smoke, and the guys are insistent. You can then go up one level to the upper section via the stairs in the reception area. From there in that massive section, you will have the free no-pay sex amongst gays with a few young hustlers standing around to offer as well. You need only show an interest in any young man, tell him what you want, and then tell him “500 pesos?” If it is just a blow job or kissing then that price is the norm. If you want something more like anal sex, then you will need to go offsite because there is no place to do it there (including even in the worst bathrooms I have ever seen there). There are many cheap hour hotels around this area. I went to look at one by myself to see what it was like. Let me just say the beds had bed bugs and there were roaches everywhere in the room. Chance it if you want, as the guys will know where an hour hotel is nearby. The second theatre has no name (that I know of) but is further east down Recto about 100 feet past Dilson on the same south side of the road. It has two levels but is much much smaller. I was told it is filled with young men that have been kicked out of Dilson. I ventured in and was quickly grabbed by a very young guy that look to be on drugs. So, I decided to just exit for the day but came back a few more times. Most of these boys are from the Tondo section of Manila which is very poor. Same price, same services. I also tried the Baclaran Cinema as listed on the net, but it was boarded up and closed. There was another theatre further east towards Quezon City that was of a similar size to Dilson, but the name and location escape me at the moment. I went once but it was simply so far out to try again.
ROBINSON’S MALL AND STARBUCKS: If you enable your Grindr while in Robinson’s Mall, the profiles will all show 5 feet away and every young guy will be messaging you to find a daddy. I met many a young man at the entrance by the escalators. We would chat, I would ask if he would like sex for 1,000 pesos at my hotel 1 minute away, and WHAM… off we went for an hour or more of fun. It was as if I was at Robinson’s “young horny male buffet” instead of a mall. As for Starbucks, well… this place is well known to gays in Manila. It has an outdoor section with tables, an indoor internal section with tables next to the cash register, and another outdoor section that juts out into the interior of Robinson’s Mass. The past time is to get a coffee, sit at that indoor mall section and watch people come and go. Female prostitutes are in front of the two small vendors next to Starbucks so you can watch them. Then, you can also meet your sex prospects here by having them visit you at your table. I would tell the young man, “I am an old man, sitting at Starbucks in blue jeans, a white shirt, tennis shoes, and having a coffee. If you want to chat after you see me and maybe do something more for a little cash, then text me you are interested, tell me how you are dressed so I can see you, then introduce yourself to me”. If he looked like his photo, then we might have action. If he did not or seemed just weird, then I’d hand him 200 pesos for the conversation and simply say I’m too tired for sex right now. Starbucks is also a great public place to meet a guy if you are concerned with first bringing him back to your hotel.
SEX: I am a 6 foot overweight 61 year old white man. Pinoys are very short and I clearly stand out in the crowd as a giant among the hobbits. Just know that many can even be less than 5 foot tall. It took a little adjustment to having sex with such smaller guys. Likewise, their dicks are also on the small side as you will see from Grindr where guys are considered massive when they advertise their 6 inch tools and tall at 5 ft 10. The young guys that sucked were simply overjoyed at sucking my average size dick and calling it massive. If you are into feet, which is not my thing, these short guys also have the most massively wide feet that I have ever seen. Most seemed to prefer the side fun, but others were the usual of active and passive. I did have to bring my own condoms (and lube) since the pinoy dick sizes (and the condoms at the pharmacy I checked) were usually very small by my western standards. If you are passive or want to try being passive, then a young short pinoy stud with his sexy body and smaller cock may be the perfect choice for you to start with.
PRICE: 500 pesos ($11 USD) in the theatre (75 pesos ($1.56 USD) for an entrance ticket); 1,000 ($20 USD) plus travel for app/parlor/Robinson guys to your hotel (excluding massage); up to 5,000 pesos ($104 USD) for HUNQS or “A list” masseurs (excluding massage)
LANGUAGE: Filipino (Tagalog) and English. You will do fine with just English as it clearly shows you are a sexy foreigner!!!
SUMMATION: I typically worked in the early morning, arranged for a B list parlor guy or Robinson guy to come to my hotel at 1:00 pm, then got a young man from one of the apps for 3:00 pm, then visited one of the theatres between 4-6 pm, then had supper and sex with an app guy or Robinson’s Mall guy from 7-9, and then did work for the next day. I usually averaged 5-6 guys a day. I went to the massage parlors on my first trip, but had no desire to go to them again for my last trip since I had so many other options including bringing the guys to me. I also travelled to Cebu and Davao City which offered pretty much the same items with the same prices. In all the cities I used Grindr, Planet Romeo, Twitter, and Facebook.

    PART TWO:
BARS: Google “Boy Bars” and “Manila” to see a number of reports about what is one of the most confusing bar situations to me. Most of the strictly gays bars had closed down in Malate, but the remaining ones are scattered across several sections of Manila. That was a bit frustrating as I had thought I was staying in the gay section known as Malate. I visited a few of the gay bars (two remaining in Malate) and they were underwhelming… just your standard gay bar or dance floor with gays… BUT, the Pinoy version MUST MUST have karaoke (their national sport, it seems). Two had dancers, but no nudity and no touching. The “Boy Bars” that you will find are especially strange. These are another type of bar where virtually all the guys are sexy straight pinoys who will dance in front of you. If you like them, then you pay them to come down and sit to talk with you. Mind you, you are not touching or engaging in sex, but you are just paying them to talk with you. One guy said he would come back with me after hours and his price was 8,000 pesos “to have sex with a sexy straight guy”. I tried two nights of this and ditched it because I realized I could have been having wild passionate sex with 3-4 equally gorgeous guys from the apps for the amount I spent on one hour of talking with some partially clothed straight guy at the boy bar. If that is your thing, then good for you. Google and learn.
MASSAGE PLACES: Manila is simply filled with over 20 massage parlors for men to get massages from other men. About half are legit massages where they will NOT offer sex or extra services, while the others are full blown places for massage and sex. These places open and close regularly. There are two ways that I found to tell the difference: FIRST, go on twitter or facebook and search for Manila and massage. Start to follow the parlors where they usually post photos of their massagers and you will see that 1-some make it very clear they are completely legit, 2-some have sexy boys and are very coy about what they offer, and then 3-some are very explicit that ES is offered. You can come to their place or the boys will come to your hotel. Further, they will text you their price range (usually 1,000-4,000) without the price of the ES which is usually 1,000-2,000 pesos and THAT is decided on by the boy. Secondly, start to follow the Manila Massage review profiles on Twitter and Facebook. There are some great reviewers of these parlors that are found on twitter. These reviewers will write in Filipino, but you can use the translate feature to see what they wrote. They will let you know whether the massager offered the ES. Keep in mind that THESE massage parlors are the upscale kind with social media, websites you can google, uniforms, etc. These “A list” parlors are not the same as the “B list parlors”. These “B list” parlors (where the guys always offer ES) do not advertise other than maybe a sign outside their establishment or on Grindr/Planet Romeo. I found six such places around my hotel by Robinson’s Mall. You find them by looking around for their signs and just walking in to ask what they offer. You can also find them by moving your location feature on Grindr around the city. You will see a profile of a guy offering massages and saying he has his own place (which usually means he is operating out of a B list parlor). He usually has one or two other profiles as well. If you come to their place which is usually quite sparse, the price for the massage is usually around 500-700 pesos. ES will be another 1,000-1,500. Going to these places is like being in a surreal movie. You go in, the guy leads you to a darkened room with music that is divided by curtains with a table in each section for a massage. You disrobe and then lie down naked with a towel over your ass. After the massage the guy will talk about ES. It was quite weird having sex on the table whilst another three guys were getting massages and having sex right next to me in the same room divided only by curtains. After those experiences, I decided to pick the guy from the parlor (or the profile on Grindr) and arrange a later visit at my hotel for privacy. To see an example of these “B List” parlors, use your Grindr explorer and center it around the cross streets of Remedios Street and Leon Guinto Street. There are four parlors there only 30 seconds apart from each other. You can see the profiles of the guys on Grindr, and then you can even see the locations in google maps.  PART THREE TO FOLLOW…

PART ONE: My work had taken me to Manila for a four week stay last January and again this past December. This is a compilation report of my own personal experiences.
HOTEL: Makati was certainly the place of choice for straight titty bars and female prostitutes, but it seemed from the gay guides that Malate was the place of choice for gays.  After checking out the various web site gay guides, I decided to stay in a cheap business hotel across from Robinson’s Mall. My gay work colleague decided to stay in an Airbnb but quickly moved out because the place had security guards either registering your guests or not allowing you to have guests unless you provided the guest’s driver’s license 24 hours ahead of the visit. In fact, I am absolutely sure that the Philippines must employ 90% of their citizens to work as security guards… they are in those same white crisply starched shirts as you will see in front of every business. The cheap hotel I stayed in offered breakfast and I chose it precisely because of location and not comfort. It also had no security other than the bell hop. At the Mall across the road was the famous gay meeting place of: Starbucks! I had thought Malate was filled with gay bars, but I was mistaken. However, like Makati it IS filled with karaoke bars and women strippers at the bars and massage parlors.
GRINDR AND PLANET ROMEO: I was getting over 20 messages an hour from my profile when I opened it on these apps. I laid out what I was clearly looking for in sex, as well as noting that I would be happy to help with donation for a young student’s debt (so as to bypass the app restrictions). I quickly learned how deceiving the profiles of guys can be. You will note that the profiles usually say something like “not a trace” or “manly” to reference being masculine and “tropa” for group action. Two types of guys started messaging me:
FIRST TYPE--Most of the profiles that contact you will show “masahe” (or some similar way of writing massage) or “not for fun” or “available” or “hagod” to describe the massage they can provide. They will usually just message you with a set price list. This list is for the massage only. The “ES” or “extra service” is something extra you pay for. As was reported on another review, the guys do NOT like to say how much the ES is, if they would offer it, or even what it would be if they offered it. I decided to try a massage for my first afternoon and the guy came to my hotel. The price he quoted was 1,000 pesos ($20.00 USD) for the massage. He also happened to be the one guy that said on messaging that he would offer ES but would only talk about what the ES was when we were in person. I had to meet him outside the hotel and we walked in together to my room. Well, he showed up and he clearly was much older than the Grindr profile photo. In fact, he was wearing so much makeup to make himself look younger that it was just weird. When we got to room, he proceeded to the bathroom and then disrobed to his underwear. He had me lie down on the bed nude with a towel over my ass. He then proceeded to do a fairly decent massage. He then asked me if I wanted ES. I asked what he had to offer. He then said 1,000 more for a hand job, 1,500 for a blow job, or 2,000 to fuck him. I just couldn’t get past the 40 year old in make-up that had used photos of when he was 20. So, I declined and we parted ways. I learned a lot from my first mistake. Thereafter, I always asked to video chat with the guy to see what he looked and acted like before we met. It quickly became clear that a large majority of guys were using photos of themselves when they were much much younger. I also made it clear thereafter on my profile that I did not want a massage, but sex only. Further, I wanted a great kisser with the use of the tongue. Interestingly, I learned a new phrase I had not heard of before: Side Fun! This was their way of saying you can kiss, cuddle, and suck each other, but not engage in anal sex. So, I became very explicit during my first meeting a guy by saying I wanted side fun, a great kisser with the tongue, mutual sucking, and both cumming. If a guy came to my place and would not kiss once I got inside the room, then I asked him to leave and gave him a little money for travel. They never got angry as the culture is not one that likes confrontation. I finally became very clear with them… if you lie about what you offer then I will not pay you at all. I should also mention that HUNQS on Planet Romeo had guys offering sex for 2,000-5,000 pesos, but the very same guys in regular profiles texted to offer their time for 1,000. I finally settled on some regularly guys that came to my hotel every other day for sex. It started as “side fun” but they quickly started offering more for the same price since I was a regular. Because I could trust them for a good experience, I also gave them tips and other items over time.
SECOND TYPE: You will have tons of messages from 18–25-year-old guys that look very young. Simply put, they are looking for a sugar daddy. They are very very specific (to the point of getting angry) that they are NOT there as “money boys” but are looking for just friendship and relationship with an older man. Make no mistake in your mind, it is not as if the entire young male population of Manila has been genetically bred to like old gay men. As you befriend them, they will start to ask for travel money, then other small “gifts”, and then BIG gifts. Suddenly their mother or grandmother is in the hospital needing care, or their laptop just broke, or etc. The story is the same for many of them. The positive of meeting these guys? I had some of the most passionate and incredible sex of my life with these young sexy men. They were simply amazing and incredibly kind. Most were straight or bi needing money, with the others being gay and needing money (usually for school). The negative? They are ready to marry you after one sexual encounter, they are clingy, they don’t want you to have sex with anyone else, and they expect their daddy to treat them (their son) appropriately. The sad part is that I had heard so many stories from these guys about older western gay men who started a relationship with them and then just dropped and ghosted them after a few weeks. It was heartbreaking to hear them say, “You’re not going to leave me too, are you?”  In turn, this also hardened some of these younger guys (knowing the old men might drop them so quickly) to start asking for things early on in the encounters. So, make clear your expectations up front with them. When you write that you are a white foreigner on your profile you will be inundated with messages of guys wanting you to be their daddy.

I was in Marrakesh two years ago. I picked up guys in four places:
1-In the evening at the bar across from the Pizza Hut where many hustlers would gather. The guys would also be on the streets around that bar.
2-In the main plaza where guys would grind their dicks on your ass as you watched the snake handlers.
3-In the small park by the main mosque across from the main plaza.
4-In the movie theater right off that main plaza. Action was in the seats and in the toilets.
I could never bring the guys back to my place, but in the first three the guys always knew a place to walk to for the quick action...a park a toilet or an enclosed area. The movie theater was safer but the quality of guys was less. Prices ranged from $5 - $30 usd depending on the type of action. I hope to get back again next month.

PART TWO TO FOLLOW…

If by gumption there you mean the likes of the feeling the effort for going or perhaps lacking in the basic travel knowledge or get up and go to do it etc I would say just get up and DO IT and GO.
In general the Ph's is an easy trip, everyone speaks english, the food and culture isn't a million miles away from western culture ( dont know if that's a good thing or not), getting around when there is quite easy ( traffic jams in Manilla aside) and the guys are cute and usually very happy to hook up ( albeit whilst putting on a decent catholic boy front that they would never do such a thing of course)
Some beautiful beaches there if that's your thing and whilst it certainly isn't wall to wall gay bars, go go bars or saunas ( by a LONG way) I'm sure there's more than enough action about on the Apps and in the Malls to keep you busy if that's your thing too.
Manila you'll see as you'll probably fly in there well once was enough for me personally there I think just as it's so busy and congested  - and a little dangerous perhaps etc too. The smaller towns ( Cebu, Davao, Boracay- Beach area ) etc were all much more chilled and easier on the stress levels I found.  Davao CITY area is fine, perhaps avoid travelling around the southern Mindanao area outside of the city generally though for the same reasons you wont travel around the south of Thailand too.
    * Edit - just on my thinking that a lot of the bars in Malate had now closed or moved a quick google check on "travelgay" says this ( just  in case anyone was to book hastily and pick the wrong area).....  "Malate district used to be Manila's main gay nightlife. Now the gay bars have spread out to other parts of Metro Manila - particularly on Timog Ave in Quezon City and near Ortigas Home Depot in Pasig."

    Frenchy,
I stayed at both and had no problem bringing guys back. I usually met the guys at Starbucks and walked over, or else met them in front of the hotel and walked in with them. New Coast is closer to things, but that also means the noise of Pedro Gil can get annoying. I never just had them direct to my room until I met and checked them out first.

    Floridarob,
There is truth to what you say. I found my pots of gold as well. You raise an interesting note about the circumcisions. I should say something about them for those that might make a first visit to the Philippines.
There are a myriad of medical AND cultural techniques for how circumcisions are done today. The Philippines is an example of where the type of circumcision you have can tell you a great deal about where a person comes from and in what social class he comes from. It used to be the case that most circumcisions were done there when a boy was a bit older (8-14). You can read about it at this wiki article on that Pinoy tradition known as tuli.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuli_(rite)
When I did my first clinical rotation through pediatrics in Boston many moons ago, I remember seeing the after effects of a Pinoy circumcision for the first time. It looked as though that boy’s penis had been placed through a meat grinder and then surgically repaired. I was horrified, but my attending was Pinoy and enlightened me on this tradition for the first time… and, what I was seeing WAS a badly done “tuli”. This was a result of a inexperienced practitioner in some rural area that had cared little for a proper cut of the foreskin or the treatment of the wound afterwards. This young patient would have a badly scarred penis for the rest of his life. Fast forward to ten years ago when I was asked to assist at a Tuli in a rural region north of Cebu City. When I arrived, I noted that there were already 5 tuli practitioners there and none had any medical training. They generally practiced the Albularyo method and used a piece of sharpened wood (thankfully, government clinics now use sterilized equipment and now generally use medical practitioners). After getting over the horror of the event, I talked with one practitioner at the end of the day who lamented that twenty years prior he would have had over 100 tuli’s to perform just by himself in this day-long event. That day, however, he had only 6 boys present for the circumcisions.
It is the case that most urban or the middle/upper class pinoys now choose to have their son’s circumcision done by a medical doctor in hospital after birth. Some still arrange for the circumcision to be done later when a boy is older, but again by medical doctors. These circumcisions generally (although not always) remove the entire foreskin. What forms is what we in the West might call a normal circumcision scar. Thus, if you are with a Pinoy man for sex and his erect penis looks like a normal western scar, then that often tells you something about his family’s income level or the region he came from. For those in Pinoy rural (or “province”) areas and the lower class, they generally wait for the summer tuli events sponsored by the government where the dorsal slit is the normal method. This is where a single cut is made on the foreskin, but the foreskin is not actually removed. As a result, the skin sorta bunches together below the glans. Over the years, this skin can become slightly darker in color. As a result of all this, pinoys traditionally have a penis whose skin looks quite different from most other asians or most other western circumcisions… it is a mark of manhood. This is why pinoys often refer to this as a cultural circumcision rather than a medical circumcision.
Aside from the ethical issues of circumcision, there is another aspect I had not encountered until a few years ago. I had met a young man via grindr at my hotel. We were kissing and his sucking was exemplary. I then started to pull down his underwear and he stopped me suddenly. He then said, incredibly apologetically, that he was uncut. I was like… OK, I like uncut dicks on sexy boys as well. After the sex, he then proceeds to apologize to me again for being uncut. The shame this boy was expressing was so sad… AND… part of the culture where boys that do NOT have their tuli, are often shammed in school and amongst friends. They are not true Phillipino men unless they have their tuli. In fact, there is a word in Tagalog... “supot” that means “an uncircumcised male and denotes weakness, inferiority and even lack of hygiene”. They will never even list on Grindr or Planetromeo that they are uncut lest it lessen their prospects.
I participated at that one tuli and will never do so again. Ironically, the program was actually sponsored by a local Protestant Church during what pinoys know as the “Circumcision Season”. Just google “tuli” and look at the pain on those boys faces, but the smiles of their family, friends, and the practitioners. You can also look at pinoy men on Pornhub to see the varying types of pinoy circumcision results.
