Last year I took the train from airport to the bts. I lugged my heavy bag down a stairs and hurt my back. It wasn’t worth it. Plus instead of using the bts, I got in a taxi. How dumb of me. But this year my bag will be lighter as I left most of my clothes in my condo in Pattaya. So maybe I’ll do the same dumb thing again. It was interesting staying at Tarntawan hotel, as it was almost twenty years since I stayed there. Seeing all the massage shops. I enjoyed Super A bar.

If you’re asking me, I have blue cross blue shield from when I worked for the government. I’m eligible for Medicare, but I’m keeping my old insurance. Maybe not smart, I’m not sure. I’m still learning about Medicare. Theyve always covered me overseas. But if I dropped them to use cheaper Medicare coverage, I would have to apply for another insurer that would cover me in Thailand.

I split the year between USA and Pattaya. I’m lonely in the USA, but I prefer the food and weather. It’s much more fun in Thailand, but might not be as much fun if full time. I kept my health insurance in the USA, which I can use in Thailand (. Haven’t used it there yet). It can be a little bit boring in Thailand at times. I filled much time furnishing my condo, playing pool, and enjoying the bars. Only drink on Saturday nights. Over drinking can be a problem for some.

Most rentals I’ve seen in Pattaya have real cheap , uncomfortable furniture. Like a 4 or 5 million baht condo, and they have plastic chairs , ugly tables and depressing crap on the walls.

Grand Solaire should be ready soon, it’s between Pattaya and jomtien on second road. If you bought a 1.2 million baht place, you won’t get much for rent. I was getting 30,000 a month for a few years until Covid came and I had to drop it down to 20,000.But it’s 62 square meters. My theory is Thais pay less in their 51% of the building, so they’re happy with low rents. Bringing down all rents with them.

I thought I’d watch some videos of The Complex on YouTube. I was shocked to see one done by Travel Viral under the heading of Jomtien Walking Street Supertown.
