I had read that it's not really Kosher to get one from a regular tattoo artist... I figured if I went to a regular artist, I'd get a more normal tattoo... But my mind keeps going back to wanting a monk doing one... Love the idea of bringing some black tattoo ink as a gift... As long as Cathay Pacific doesn't decide to spill it in my luggage on the way over!

Did you get your tattoo outside of Bangkok? Are there some monks who use needles instead of bamboo? That would be great if there are... I'm also going to be in Chiang Mai for a weekend.. Maybe I should look into getting a tat there if that's where they use needles...

I'm back and forth about getting a real Sak Yant tattoo from a monk. I've read about them, and am definitely interested, but not sure I want to chance Hep C. But who knows, when I'm there, I might decide to take the chance... As far as I know there aren't thousands of people getting Hep C from getting tattoos...

Those of you freaked out by tattoos - close this thread now - just another old Farang with tattoos wanting advice lol I'm one of those guys with a few tattoos who is always looking for another one, and since I'll be in Thailand for the summer, I was thinking of getting a Sak Yant tattoo... I thought about getting one from the monks who use bamboo, but decided I'd rather not take a chance on picking up Hep C, so will be sticking to normal tattoo places... Has anyone on here ever gotten a tattoo in Bangkok, and if so, are there any places you recommend? Hot, Gay talented tattoo artist recommendations always welcome. (I can fantasize, can't I?)

I found the easiest thing to do is just put the poster who puts up pictures you have no interest in on ignore. I might miss out on some of their discussions, but I found checking pics is much more enjoyable when it's pics of guys I like 100% of the time!

Alizizou, as usual thanks! I just checked my calendar - my flight for Bangkok leaves in exactly 98 days (but who's counting!?) - First stop after checking in at my hotel is the Tawan! Your pics have made me decide the Tarntawan Place is perfect - easy access to the Tawan men! Edited - not sure why this is all in bold... tried to fix it, couldn't... guess it shows my excitement over the Tawan guys!

For me, this picture looks mighty appealing... short hairstyle ... unshaved ... ear piercing ...

Not everyone wants to be the boy in the plastic bubble. He could also get run over by a Tuk Tuk on the way to meeting the guy... or his plane might crash on the way to Thailand... or he could get hit by lightning... No one can control everything in life. It's meant to enjoy. Many of us have managed quite well having fun without catching anything "nasty" from all kinds of sex. (Why do I suddenly sound like a slut? lol)

I'm thinking after reading this thread that I might buy a relatively cheap phone when I'm in Thailand... I'm going to be there for about 5 weeks, and would really hate to have my iPhone stolen... Even though it's got free texting and internet worldwide, I'd hate to lose it at a bar or getting a massage! I'll bring it with me but keep it in the safe when I go out... What kind of cheap phone would you guys recommend I pick up in Thailand? I assume an Android something, but have no idea about what you can get that works for Apps like Line and Hornet, etc...

My apologies, it's easy to get caught up in worry - especially after you start searching things online... by the end of looking around online, your hair will turn white! I ended up booking a ticket on AirAsia.... Now, I just have to worry about crossing Suriwong!

Good point about having very little time in reality in Chiang Mai... I think I'll chance it on a flight... even without cockroaches, 12 hours on a train overnight IS a bit much... I actually started at Seat61... and it was when I read reviews on 123go that I saw all kinds of people talking about roaches... which freaked me out... There are safety records for all the world's airlines online.... you can look up Thai Smile, Air Asia Thailand, Bangkok Air, NOK air, etc... Air Asia is the best out of all of them with a 4 out of 7 record... I think I'll chance it on an hour flight each way. Leaves me more time to check out the sights - and thai boys in Chiang Mai! Thanks guys...

OK, so my summer is set up - 5 weeks in Bangkok, with weekends away... I've set up a weekend in Chiang Mai - got my Gay tour guides set up, and have my hotel in Chiang Mai booked... Now I'm looking into getting from Bangkok to Chiang Mai... It seems there are two choices - overnight train or a quick flight... First, I was going to just book a flight.... But what I've read online has me concerned... Flights on AirAsia are cheap, but they (and all the other airlines that fly between the two cities) have horrible safety records.... So, I figured I'd just book an overnight train... But when I went to book online, there are all kinds of reviews saying the trains are overrun with cockroaches... which would freak me out.... I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place... There have got to be guys on here who have done the trip... Which did you pick? The train or the plane? Maybe I'll be less freaked out when I hear what members here tend to do...
