  1. Just do your best and be considerate when you're posting photos I guess.
  2. Always good when somone who has asked for advice reports back. Thanks.
  3. God almighty people! The reports are great. Someone suggested that maybe it wasn't cool to post face pics of someone outing them as a gogo. That's all. I have no doubt that no harm was intended. But there is a bit of a lesson for us all here. Most of us wouldn't post a clear photo showing ourselves surrounded by money boys and describing it as such. The same principle should surely apply to photos of other people, unless they specifically said it was ok to do so. I do agree a private message would probably have been the smartest way of handling this. It would be a shame if the OP were to stay away as a result of some criticism. There is no reason to do so. Please, please, please let's afford the people we come across in Thailand with the respect and dignity we might like to receive ourselves. And a little tact and restraint dealing with each other on here might be nice too.
  4. Someone catching a glimpse of people on the street and deducing their profession is one thing. A third party putting a photo on the internet outing someone as a gogo is has far more reach.
  5. I don't think anyone is making demands nor is anyone criticising the OP. The only thing that's being suggested is that we try to afford guys the same privacy we would like to enjoy. If the guys themselves want to put a profile out there with their face pic outing themselves as go go boys so be it. But it isn't really fair for us to do it to them. It would be a pity if the OP were go to ground as a result of people asking him to think about working guy's privacy.
  6. Agreed. But it would be good if we could all bear in mind thinking twice before posting photos. A good strategy would be to ask yourself if you would post it if your own face were clearly shown.
  7. This is really pathetic, not least the repetitive to and fro and insistence on having the last word. Same people involved too. Seriously guys.

    NEW HERE

My advice. With some points to be taken more seriously than others. 1. No. They would end up turning half of the visitors away if that were the reason. 2. Tough call. Would hate to be either British or French. Use the French one but try to do a funny accent. (Of course it makes no difference at all). 3. You won't need a guide. Just go to the places mentioned here and take it from there. Get a local sim card for your phone so you can use google maps etc. 4. Anywhere in your budget near silom. 5. Remember your room number. Company will follow. Some places may ask for his id to prove age. Have fun.
  9. I think you mean masseur rather than masseuse. Otherwise you're posting in the wrong forum!
  10. Sorry that's beyond my skill level too
  11. Might be an idea to edit the tittle to include his name.
  12. I'm going to suggest you trawled for info rather than trolled. Not your style
  13. I took thirty seconds to figure out the ignore function. Time well spent.
  14. I think the consensus seems to be that for a first timer in room might not be the best option.
  15. I think that this is a case of two countries separated by a common language. Last resort has a negative connotation to it. Imagine being told that you're hired for a job but that you're the last resort. Not a vote of confidence at all.
  16. I disagree. Bar gets inflated beer price as entrance fee. Fine. Bar gets the off fee. Drinks for guys you want to chat with for sure, although they'd probably prefer a decent tip. A fool and his money are easily parted. You have to draw the line somewhere.
  17. No, the point is that I'd only suggest going there after all other options fail. As per the definition, a final course of action. Something being the "last resort" doesn't imply in any way that it is something that will be a solution, merely that it should be the last option.
  18. Just saw the question about what an "excess" is. It is a clause in a policy which indicates the amount that a customer has to pay in the event of a claim. The cheaper the policy, the higher the excess. So for example if you make a medical claim on a policy with a $150 excess and your expenses amount to $160, you only get $10 dollars refunded.
  19. True but if supposedly a muscle man bar not really enough to really be called that.
  20. Was there earlier the pervious night. Can't say how many guys are there in total, but guessing 15 or so. I'd say 3 were what you might call a bber.
  21. Was there the previous night. There are quite a few guys that really are very badly out of shape.
  22. Hate saying it but this place really seems to be on its last legs. Was there just after midnight and frankly none of the guys on show were bodybuilders or anything close. In fact one particularly fat kid seemed to be the lead in most of the numbers on stage. It was so bad it actually felt uncomfortable to watch. Also, not thrilled about the behaviour of the barker out front. Spikey haired guy with the tatoos. It was after midnight and I hadn't really intended going in. He stopped me and i said 400 baht was a bit much for one hour, so he said ok 200. I didn't haggle, he suggested. Of course I was charged 400 and he completely denied afterwards. The two hundred baht isn't really a big deal, I just dislike the dishonesty. Frankly, the place generally has a whiff of desperation about it, which to me isn't very sexy.
  23. The sums involved are so small it really shouldn't make that much of a difference.
  24. You know what? Apart from the extra cash you gave, it was also nice of you to spend time helping him with the practical stuff.
