  1. Not only in this case, I suggest that when someone opts for personal insults - The best option is to ignore him. )-:
  2. It's also my impression, but I intend to skip only him rather than SD as a whole. U can try the options I mentioned earlier. There's an additional one: coordinate ur visit with one of the friendlier like-minded members here. It always helps not to b alone. (-:
  3. The language indeed makes all the difference. Since u were so successful without pay, why look for pay (+middleman) options? May I ask how old u r ...? I m 65 and usually not found attractive by young guys, so my non-pay experience has been very limited.
  4. Well, I m interested (and m sure others r too) in the details of such an experience: How did u meet online? His rates? Language? Hotel's policy regarding visitors? What made u feel secure? Etc..... I too m not talented in active cruising. If u would still rather avoid Manny, there r three other options: Online - which u have cited. Marlowe's and Juan Binbin. Passive cruising - u sit alone at Paco's or El Conde, and they'll come to u.
  5. ELD, I posted precisely that, in this thread, back in March 25. Having now looked back at the beginning of this thread, I was reminded that it was initiated by you. Have u been already to SD? If so, pls share as many details as possible beyond Manny's rates.
  6. I dont remember the specifics; they appear in my Feb 2020 very detailed reports. When this post-covid discussion began, I remember that reported Manny's rates were VERY MUCH higher than what he had charged me. I think that without-Manny rates stayed the same.
  7. That's why I publish what I pay AND what the contextual circumstances were.
  8. It IS a bit funny how much energy is devoted to DR threads, when - unlike Brazil and Colombia - I don't think there's a point in time when there's more than one forum member actually there making use of info provided here.
  9. Rob, understanding him isnt a measure of anything. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with ur book smarts.
  10. HV, u DO know why; exactly what u wrote: they trade the comfort of a hotel/BnB-bed for the security of a bar. That's why I asked for details; I too would probably do that. I m intrigued by the story u added. Did u mean that when guys did/do have IDs u host them at hotels that require that?
  11. Endlessdream, U r neither the first nor the last to be exasperated by Riobard's endless incomprehensible verbosity. He doesn't believe in making himself understood by his interlocutors. It's the hallmark of people in love with their own voice (in this case - his own writings). I'm an intellectual with a PhD in social science. I've long since tired of trying to decipher him. To the point at hand: U can see the price range with and without Manny, earlier in this thread or in the other SD one. When I visit again, I promise to report in a useful manner. (-:
  12. Thanks for the warning; I was hoping that maybe guys who regularly visit the bar, would not cause prblms at the client's place, bcs he would then share that info at the bar. Guess I was mistaken. Regarding the backroom, what's its nature? Semi-privacy? Furniture? Sauna-like facilities? What and how goes on there?
  13. I concur. He is an honest businessman, seeking to maximize profits.
  14. What was the rate then? Is it possible to scratch the itch on site? Should picking up guys at that bar make me feel security-wise calmer about taking them to my aprtmnt ?
  15. HV, please elaborate for those of us who would like to follow your advice. Where is that brothel? How to get there? Phone/whatsapp number? Prices? This is the first mention of sexual activities IN Marlowe's. Please describe....
  16. I agree also with u SG, and I see no contradiction. I use my travels to contribute my share to the redistribution of wealth btw the 1st and 3rd worlds. However, I prefer to do so via tips, and not by acceeding to overcharges. Too often those who overcharge - or try to - perceive the client only as a source of income, and not as a person whose money has earned him the right to a whole-hearted service.
  17. With spanish u can play in many more countries. I recommend Dualingo
  18. Numazu, pls don't take this as if I'm trying to - god forbid - shut u up; I'm not. It's great to get excited and plan ahead, but Vinapu got it right: it's hard to know what will things look like in July. Best to ask again in late June.
  19. Of course you wrote that; I only meant it wasn't mentioned in the 'final' segment. I stand corrected. Apologies if I had offended. I feel the same about the comparison with Brazil; in both our cases it probably has to do also with the language. I wish u much joy there in the future, before and after retirement. (-:
  20. Latbear, although u weren't explicit, it seems u r mostly satisfied with ur visit. I m glad for u. (-: My travel preferences r very different from urs, but ur style of writing made everything very relatable. I was routing for u the whole time. (-: It seems u both enjoy writing these reports and want to enlighten us, which is GREAT for everyone. Thank u VERY much! question: if I want to visit Medellin at the least rainy non-winter (dec-feb) month, would that b August?
  21. TO, I guess guys don't care enough to comment, but do YOU see any reason not to implement my suggestion? Asia's structure is so commonsensical, why not replicate?
  22. Latbear, In order to get the full picture, do I need to read your blog? Could you please post a link?
