  1. Thanks for the information. In 2 weeks' time, I will be in Rio and Porto Alegre. Cannot wait to see all the guys in clubs.

When you say : "Left there and went to dinner in one of the favelas overlooking Copa....Beautiful dinner and view....great way to spend my last few hours in Rio.....", where exactly did you go ?

Are you talking of the Pavao Pavaozinho favela ?

Ill get the name from my friend that took me there and reply back to you....I just sent him a message...He is Brazilian so I go wherever he takes me...would never go on my own....

  3. Great :D Thanks for your report. I will be soon in Rio, tell me what is the price of the boys? Last time I was in Rio 6 years ago, and I went just to 117, it seems it is still best sauna in town.

Prices will vary based on the guy....time of day...how attractive you are and how badly they need to make money....The hottest guys are always going to be in demand and seldom lower their pricing....

A few guys started off at $200R....A few started off at $150R.....They always start high but you can negotiate....

I paid one guy nothing....One guy $80R.....One $90R and the one I really enjoyed the most and hope to see a few times in December $100R plus a pair of sexy underwear that he looked amazing in....

  4. up and out late, 1pm..... my goodness, that's early... I'm lucky to make it up and out by 5pm and that's when TomCal is dragging me out of bed to get to the saunas, lol

I'm an early riser that usually needs little sleep but Im getting older so staying up until 4 and 5 am is not something I like to do on the regular....If I get up past 10 am I feel like I have already missed a lot.....

  5. It is not summer in Brazil - It is Spring time.

Don't forget, the seasons in Brazil are opposite of the seasons in the U.S. (Northern Hemisphere) because Brazil is below the equator while the U.S. is above.

    Autumnal Equinox – Fall Equinox

Equinoxes are opposite on either side of the equator, so the autumnal (fall) equinox in the Northern Hemisphere is the spring (vernal) equinox in the Southern Hemisphere and vice versa.

Equinoxes and solstices happen twice a year.

    Autumnal Equinox, Southern Hemisphere

(Australia, New Zealand, South America, Southern Africa)

    March Equinox 2016:

    March 20, at 04:30 UTC

    Autumnal (Fall) Equinox, Northern Hemisphere

(USA & Central America, Asia, Canada, Europe, Northern Africa)

    September Equinox 2016:

    September 22, at 14:22 UTC

Summer....Spring....I understood they are on the opposite as the US....the weather there this past week was great....Thanks for the correction....

  6. I just got back today from 10 days in Rio/Porto Alegre/Sao Paulo, not only did I have one of the best trips ever there, but I did not feel or notice any difference in the security. Saying that, I also stick to Ipanema/Copa/Gloria in Rio and the Moinhos de Vento area of Porto Alegre. Relatively safe areas.

Hey Tomcal, how were the saunas in Rio? Ill be there next month....I would like to hear some feedback from you since you were just there....

    Thanks

  7. Now I'm not one that likes to pass on gossip...believe me.

However, when I was in Rio last week, I "heard" of a plan that involved armed guys entering 117 and robbing the place and their customers before going on a shooting spree...... far fetched??? I wouldn't put ANYTHING beyond desperate people that blame other people for the situation they are in...... desperation makes for dangerous people, is the underlying cause (not religion, that's used as an excuse) of why things are they way they are in the Middle East, IMO.

You may be going to extremes...While things are very bad, it is not the middle east, a war zone or somewhere that people are literally trying to run away.....

Why pick a sauna versus a bank or a hotel or somewhere else.....

Enough with the dramatics and gossip....

It is not needed, especially for those of us planning trips to HELP the economy in Brazil

  8. Interesting questions.....No you don't get dressed to watch the shows....the drinks are more expensive than if you got them off the street or at a regular restaurant....You take care off your clothes and wear a towel, most clients do...

If you choose not to, you will look completely out of place because most patrons have one towels, a few regulars will wear robes...

It's simple....no need to overthink the sauna scene...

You change clothes, they all tend to have showers, steam and heat rooms, lounging areas where you can have drinks or just sit around and the boys will be around in all these areas and in between depending on the day and time...

  9. For now, at 117, the first suite free is only for the rest of September.

Yesterday morning I went by the original Estacao as I was leaving the Metro, Building is for sale if anyone has an interest.

Some rent saunas that have gone bye-bye include Roger's, Spa 73, Spazio 18, the enormous Caracala and the one in centro on Rua da Quitanda that lasted about a month.

Can you give some background history on the saunas that have went bye bye....location, clientele, etc.

    Thank you....

  10. Not true at all, apart from the latest Junior/new sauna move, the number of sauna-with-boys in Rio is decreasing, old timers know that 5 or 6 years ago there were more options, same with Sao Paulo. Besides, the demise of a major player, if it happens, will show that this line of business is not for the faint of heart. Regarding the 117 Tuesdays , the lack of must -go night is bad for everybody and harder for out-of-towners that will have less chance to score an occasional decent night by trial.

I have been traveling to Rio since 2004 and the same saunas that offered rentboys have been around....I totally understand what you mean but since this has been a way of life in the country for such a long time, some entrepreneur who loves boys will open up shop....

Even with the large number of saunas they have managed to exist for a long time...while some have closed, the major players seem to have stayed the same....
