  1. Basically those who travel to Brazil for boys continue to be an advantage, even more now that there are more boys who are in need of extra money for necessities and jobs are hard to come by.....

Economics 101...And old but true saying....Boys will sell dick or ass when they have nothing else to sell....Let's enjoy it while it lasts....

    • Pussy gon' sell when cotton and corn won't.
  2. I have caught some excellent fares because of airline glitches...the problem is how long the actual flight is and if you want to deal with the hassle....With the above discounted far, dude will be flying for 24 hours to get to RIO...way too long...

I use Kayak to purchase flights and wind up getting some excellent flights...

A few years ago I caught a flight on American for around $550 RT...excellent from from ATL-MIA-GIG....

I was able to get a great flight this year with the same route for $685

I will be reviewing the link on airline mistakes....

  3. lol @ bolded part

Number of whites is wildly overstated and the number of blacks understated, when, in fact, by American definitions, most of Brazil is black. Of course you must know this.

Afro-Brazilian is a term used in the 21st century by some in Brazil to refer to Brazilian people with African ancestry. The term does not have widespread use in Brazil, where social constructs and classifications have been based on appearance. People with noticeable African features and skin color are generally referred to (and they identify) as negro or "preto ("black"). Another group of people of color, multiracial Brazilians orpardos, also have a range of degree of African ancestry.

In Brazil, a person's "race" is based primarily on physical appearance. In Brazil it is possible for two siblings of different colors to be classified as people of different races. Children who are born to a black mother and a European father would be classified as black if their features read as African, and classified as white if their features appeared more European.

The high level of European ancestry in black Brazilians through paternal line exists because, for much of Brazil's History, there were more Caucasian males than Caucasian females. So inter-racial relationships between Caucasian males and Sub-Saharan Africanor Native American females were widespread.

  4. How did you arrive at your conclusion about "guys that visit from the states?"

When I was there, I was interested in the local scene and culture. The chief difference I noticed (comparing the guys in Santo Domingo versus guys in Brazil) was the lack of "charm" of the Dominican hustlers, as I already reported above.

I did not pay much attention to other tourist visitors to Santo Domingo. I was there to do my own thing. I heard occasional complaints from Americans alleging that hustlers were asking too much. I also heard similar complaints from Americans who visit Brazil. Same tune, different orchestra!

I am puzzled how you concluded that visitors to Santo Domingo from the states are a "lower budget" than those visitors to Brazil.

    Just curious.

I have several friends that travel there on the regular that are too cheap to travel to Brazil or other countries...One in particular complains about the hotel quality and the lack of things to do but also says that the ticket to Rio is too expensive....

I started going to DR in my early 20's and after going for almost 10 years, there has been very little growth as a whole in the country....I am basing my response on what I have seen and experienced...You can do your own research if you want...

In my opinion, it is a little too Third World, I have therefor decided to give it a break for a while after celebrating my last birthday there...

    The End

  5. There are tons of male escorts throughout Spain, primarily in Barcelona and Madrid....You don't have to travel to the saunas to meet escorts...

There are a lot of Eastern European guys that are male prostitutes as well as Brazilians, Africans and some Spanish...

If you are into Eastern European, young, hot, "straight", check out Prague for boys for pay and Berlin for hot freaky guys in general....

  6. I visited Santo Domingo only once a couple of years ago. Although I liked my time spent there, I have no plans to return.

There are lots of hustlers in the city. I was lucky to avoid any crooked ones or scam artists. All were clean, polite, performed as agreed and asked for little money in exchange for their services.

Prior to going to Santo Domingo, I had heard warnings of scams in certain areas of the Colonial Zone where tourists are supposedly targeted for scams. Consequently, for the most part, I avoided that area except to see it as a tourist.

There is a small, family-owned hotel in Santo Domingo. Many guests are tourists who bring back "visitors" (hustlers or female prostitutes) to a room. The hotel staff and owner appear non judgmental about guests bringing visitors to rooms.

The hotel I chose is one of a few decent hotels in Santo Domingo that allows a hotel guest to bring back a visitor. There is a five or six dollar charge for bringing back a visitor to a guest room. The charge includes the front desk registering the visitor and retaining the visitor’s identification, which is returned to the visitor after the hotel guest confirms that everything is in order (you were not robbed, killed etc).

The name of the hotel is Hotel Duque De Wellington.

If you read Trip Advisor reviews about the above-named hotel, don't be put off by some of the guests complaining about the hustlers and hookers in the lobby or in the area of the hotel. I found the experience entertaining. Yes, the conservative site TripAdvisor.com reports on gay venues.

Hustlers can be engaged in bars in Santo Domingo or along the streets near the hotel and/or in other areas in the city. There are many hustlers that hang around the area of the above-mentioned hotel and they are, by and large, friendly and good looking but are lacking in charm.

Knowing Spanish is a plus (my Spanish is terrible). However, some of the hustlers know a bit of English. If you know Italian or Portuguese (I am okay with Portuguese), there is enough similarity in the languages for you to communicate (at a basic level) with the Spanish-speaking hustlers in Santo Domingo. Using a smart phone to translate would not be a good idea while trying to negotiate with a guy in the open areas of Santo Domingo.

As to Rio being a rich mans’ Dominican Republic, I must disagree. Those two places are nothing alike. The most obvious difference between Brazilian garotos and the Santo Domingo hustlers was the lack of “charm” that is found with the Brazilian garotos but not with the Dominicans.

While it is true that the guys in the Dominican Republic were friendly, they lacked the special charm that the Brazilian garotos have. The old musical (My Fair Lady) contains a song that has words that fit the Brazilian garotos but not the guys from the Dominican Republic. The words are “oozing with charm from every pore” definitely applies to Brazilian garotos.

If anyone has a desire to check out Dominican Republic, I heartily recommend it as a place to visit. As a place for continuing and/or repeat visits, that possibility must rest with each person after the first visit. Some will like it while others will not.

I appreciate your response and experience....Again, "charm" is relative to what you are looking for....

In both DR and Rio, I understand the game and don't fall for the boyfriend of the week scam...I don't fall period...I enjoy the time and when it's over, I send them on their way...

In DR, on one of my last nights in town, with my boyfriend of the week knowing it, he was prospecting at an even that we went to together.....No problem...I understand he needed his next "boyfriend" and I would be flying out the next morning

In Rio, I have seen guys that I keep in contact with and can never wait for me to be back in town because they "miss me!"

The biggest different for me was the culture and subtle-ness that Brazilians offer....In both countries, it is acceptable to be a male escort for guys who have girlfriends and wives because it is all about the money, DR just seems lower budget "TO ME" both with the guys that visit from the states and Europe and the escorts there....

  7. If you have traveled to DR for the boys, give me some feedback please...

I had a conversation with a guy who travels to Santo Domingo at least 3-4 times a year for the boys...I dud that in my early 20's and quickly got over DR by my late 20s and celebrated my 31st there and decided to give it a LONG break....

DR has some very attractive guys who are well built and very attractive...My problem is that I find DR as a whole TOO third world....

I love the guys and the availability and variety but HAD the overall experience and prefer Rio as a whole...

    What do you guys think?

  8. From reading the posts of others, I have noticed that a lot of other guys are total tops...

As far as why they would spend the night or hang out for no pay, I definitely don't think it's because I'm so hot but maybe because they feel at ease with somebody closer to their own ages or size when out in public???

As I said in the first post, I have had some guys question why I am in the sauna at all.

For me personally, I like being able to chill out, relax, have a drink and look at attractive guys.....after the beach and the cultural events I take in for the day, I like relaxing in the saunas.

  9. Something I found interesting....The more you know....

Brazilian society is more markedly divided by social class lines, although a high income disparity is found between race groups, so racism andclassism can be conflated. Socially significant closeness to one racial group is taken in account more in the basis of appearance (phenotypes) rather than ancestry, to the extent that full siblings can pertain to different "racial" groups.

Socioeconomic factors are also significant, because a minority of pardos are likely to start declaring themselves White or Black if socially upward. Skin color and facial features do not line quite well with ancestry (usually, Afro-Brazilians are evenly mixed and European ancestry is dominant in Whites and pardos with a significant non-European contribution, but the individual variation is great).

The brown population (officially called pardo in Portuguese, also colloquially moreno) is a broad category that includes caboclos (assimilated Amerindians in general, and descendants of Whites and Natives), mulatos (descendants of primarily Whites and Afro-Brazilians) and cafuzos (descendants of Afro-Brazilians and Natives).

People of considerable Amerindian ancestry form the majority of the population in the Northern, Northeastern and Center-Western regions.

Higher percents of Blacks, mulattoes and tri-racials can be found in the eastern coast of the Northeastern region from Bahia to Paraíba and also in northern Maranhão, southern Minas Gerais and in eastern Rio de Janeiro.

  10. I am a total top...I didn't really ask the guys if they were gay or straight...I didn't care...I was more interested in what they would and wouldn't do....

As far as sexuality goes, I have no idea....I know that they may have (in Brazil) girlfriends or boyfriends but they are much more fluid than a curious or bi guy or even a "gay for pay guy" is....ie, kissing, cuddling, willing to spend the night, etc.

  11. Hey Guys-

Would love to hear some personal experiences from guys based on their age on the type of experiences they have had in the saunas scene.

I started traveling to Brazil at about 25 and based on my experiences, I have had guys willingly want to "hang out" outside of the saunas as well as had guys question why I was in the sauna in the first place.

I have read some responses based on physical appearance but would love to hear the dynamic based on age alone....the seasoned gents, the younger guys, etc.

At the end of the day, it is all about the money but aside from that, how was your experience with how you were treated....

  12. The reason why Spanish and Portuguese people are often referred to as swarthy skinned, dark complexioned, for the Iberian comment-

The Moors arrived in the Iberian Peninsula in 711 and called the territory Al-Andalus, an area which at its peak included what is today most of Spain andPortugal, and part of the South of France. They occupied Mazara on Sicily in 827 and in 1224 were expelled to the settlement of Lucera, which was destroyed in 1300. The religious difference of the Moorish Muslims led to a centuries-long conflict with the Christian kingdoms of Europe, called in Spain the Reconquista. The fall of Granada in 1492 saw the end of Muslim rule in Iberia.

The term "Moors" has also been used in Europe in a broader, somewhat derogatory sense to refer to Muslims, especially those of Arab or Berber descent, whether living in Spain or North Africa. During the colonial era the Portuguese introduced the names "Ceylon Moors" and "Indian Moors", in Sri Lanka. The Bengali Muslims were called Moors. Moors are not a distinct or self-defined people. Medieval and early modern Europeans applied the name to Arabs, Berbers, Muslim Europeansand Sub-Saharan Africans
