I had only one experience with online hire from Grindr. He was a cutie and had a nice personality. However, there is a reason for him not working at the sauna-- his size. I don't think he can compete with those sauna boys.

Poor buck, that must be a typo, or is it?

FINALLY found decent pizza in SP

They have a location, very pretty and great service not far from Lagoa.Indeed very pretty with the candles, and romantic with the piano playing live. But it is so dark there that we need to use mobile phone flashlights to read the menu. Their servers don't speak English.

The first time I went to Lagoa a sociable local took me up north to this eatery for a late night meal. I was staying in Jardins not far away.
It was wildly popular and busy. Hearty fare, decadent desserts. It is open 24 hours! You can access online a ‘read’ of real time relative to average degree of busyness.
Bon appetit.
Based on my pre covid-19 experience, this place is super crowded during late night hours. There is usually a long line waiting for tables, and the tables are tiny and are very close to each others. There is absolutely no privacy for conversations, your neighbors on the adjacent tables can hear everything you say, and if you speak English, you can be sure the neighbors will pay extra attention to your conversation.

I can't believe they let the gay clubs be open. @numazu1 Do you know if there is any trade at the gay clubs usually? Did they at least have reduced hours at the clubs?
Thanks for the detailed report! Can't wait to hear about Rio!!!
People usually don't do trade at regular gay clubs in Brazil. If there is any opportunities, you would need to speak Portugese. @numazu1 speaks passable Portuguese, (or better than passable ).

Before COVID-19, on may airlines I noticed the pillows were re-used throughout the day. You can tell because those pillows were not packed in sealed bags. But blankets were always in sealed bags. I haven't flown since Covid started, so I don't know if the pillow situation changed.

São Paulo’s New Year celebrations on Paulista are officially cancelled. A sign of what to anticipate.
The decision contrasts with the current federal health Minister’s assertion that within 2 months the disease will have softened to a common respiratory syndrome.
Interesting....New Year is still 5+ months away.

Can you clarify? "Travel insurance" is mostly about trip cancellation so, yeah, if you want to cancel because the pandemic or your comfort level is getting worse, no coverage. However, wouldn't health insurance, whether you have such coverage on your own U.S. plan or you bought a specially-bought travel health plan, pay for medical expenses like these.?
My understanding is that your regular health insurance only covers medical expense within the country you reside, not overseas(there may be special type of insurance for that). And the regular travel insurance do not cover any medical expense for pandemic declared by WHO before you purchase the travel insurance.

I did not get a refund for my canceled April flight. Instead, I have an open ticket for whenever I wanna (am able to) travel. Dreamingly, I am fantasizing with this July. Realistically, I am planning for July 2021.
Yes, it looks like the situation in Brazil is potentially devastating. I did send a gift to my two favorite boys, they needed it desperately.
Can you ask them to do Zoom sessions?

July seems so tempting and very very optimistic. My little brainless head is hoping for the best but my big brain knows that it is not likely to be safe for travel then. but since there is frankly so much uncertainty with this, no one knows for certain what might happen over the next two months. trust me we are seriously bullshitting our way through this!!!
BTW you might not be afraid of death but COVID-19 is a very shitty way to die. It is not pretty...no death is, but this is very painful to watch so i imagine it is even worse to experience it.
Did you watch a COVID-19 patient die? where?

I think this will be more than a couple of months.

That is a good news. I always find June is too cold in SP to have gay pride.

I am very concerned about the situation in Brazil. Italy could be nothing compared to what they are incubating over there. My April trip is of course canceled, and I doubt I will be able to visit in July, my next traveling window.
I worry about Brazil too because it is one of my most favorite travel destinations. I don't care about Italy. I am not interested in Italy, have never been to Italy and probably will not.
