  2. arrrgh... I thought this site was very handy for sharing info about adventures worldwide for likeminded horndogs. I have gone and looked briefly at the gayguides site, and am underwhelmed. The page about Rio is from 2014. sheesh. https://www.gayguides.com/gay-rio-de-janeiro/ You can cruise the clubs and bars all night and then sleep off your sex induced hangover on any number of sandy beaches! We can wait to see you! cc Gay Brazil.com 2014
  3. a few guys discussed mask-wearing, "gaiter" style mask included. A friend of mine shared with me this twist on a mask that might , just might, encourage keeping masks on: IMG_2280.MOV
  4. LatBear4blk: you wrote: there is always the chance to rent a car to travel with my party, as most of the places I am checking include free parking. I have a question for those with more experience and knowledge of Rio. Besides Praia Grumari, what other interesting places can you visit in the area? My last visit in August 2019, my friends and I rented an small SUV (National Car Rental on Av. Pr.Isabella 1855842853) and drove out to Buzios. Rented a huge 5 bedroom house with housekeeper, pool and great location... but there's lots of other smaller and cheaper places, too our stay in Buzios: Casa Buziana Av. Geribá, 123 - Manguinhos Búzios RJ 28950-000 $388 two nights 5 bdrms, 6 bath wifi pool No smoking energy and water consumed in the lodging will be charged Cleaning Fee $ 38 Henrique +55 (21) 99962-4900 Mauren +55 (21) 97176-5583 https://www.vrbo.com/7343353ha Buzios has an incredible number of beautiful coves and beaches, tour schooners, good beachside restaurants. Grindr had plenty of interesting attractions there, too.
  5. Tomcal, I get that your experience and familiarity to the guys working there may negate the need to negotiate. BUT: I don't think it's a good idea for most of us going to the saunas to meet garotos to not confirm the agreed upon fees BEFORE getting intimately acquainted. Most of the guys are above board, but especially in desperate times like these, more than just a few might create a scene when you're finished and they only then tell you they expect you to pay much more than you had expected. I think it's always a good idea to know going in what the agreed upon fees will be. I speak from a couple bad experiences years ago, when despite my having been there several times over the years, some of the garotos would jack up their rate after we'd finished if we had not clearly agreed first.
  6. Thanks, Pauleiro! It was wonderful meeting you in Rio last year
  7. I've always had a great time in my previous six visits to Rio (2011 through 2019). I have read news articles and heard from carioca amigos that the water quality is awful just now in Rio. There's some kind of water filtration plant problem causing the tap water to be cloudy, smelly and foul-tasting. I've read that some don't consider it great for bathing, even. Does anyone have first hand experience since this water sanitation problem began there? Is is safe for you douche with that water? I really hope they get this back to what passes for normal water filtration there soon. It's bad enough having to figure the coronavirus Covid-19 into plans... From one article online: https://www.foxnews.com/world/carnival-rio-tourists-contaminated-water Sexy costumes, bands, festivities, wild parades - and murky water. As the official Carnival celebrations kick off in the Brazilian city of Rio Saturday, potable water has become a valuable commodity, especially in the peak of summer when temperatures hit 120 degrees F. Since the beginning of January, sinks and showers have provided only cloudy water that smells like clay. The problem has not been resolved and with the arrival of 10 million tourists next week, the situation likely will get worse. Rio’s public water company, called CEDAE (State Company of water and sewage) apologized for what happened and blamed the supposedly inoffensive and safe organic compound "geosmin." It multiplies in nutrient-rich aquatic environments, such as springs that receive untreated sewage, but is atoxic. Some disagree. “If the water is not odorless, colorless and tasteless is not safe,” said biologist Ana Passos. On Feb. 3, the crisis hit a new low, and the whole treatment center of Guandu was closed due to the presence of a detergent in massive quantities. It's not clear where the compound came from, but specialists said the source is probably industries outside Rio and blamed heavy rain.
  8. Although I've always preferred to meet the meat in person first, I did use online websites for some very happy endings with rentboys this past visit to Brasil. Most helpful was vivalocal: https://search.vivalocal.com/acompanhantes-gays/br?lb=new&search=1&start_field=1&keywords=&cat_1=248&geosearch_text=&searchGeoId=&sp_personals_age[start]=&sp_personals_age[end]= for just Rio: https://www.vivalocal.com/acompanhantes-gays/rio-de-janeiro for Sao Paulo: https://www.vivalocal.com/acompanhantes-gays/sao-paulo for Salvador: https://www.vivalocal.com/acompanhantes-gays/salvador MY FAVE neweer prospective talent I see online since my last visit, and whose meat I hope to meet next trip is: https://www.vivalocal.com/acompanhantes-gays/centro/boy-carioca-24cm/204711570 although this one in Salvador with 27cm looks great, too: https://www.vivalocal.com/acompanhantes-gays/vitoria-salvador/actorporno-27cm/205163683 and this young thuggish looker swings a big bat, too, in Rio for now: https://www.vivalocal.com/acompanhantes-gays/copacabana/yuri-dotado-24-cm-atv-local-discreto-zap---61--98365-3212/205458996
  9. The photo above is from Google maps of sleazy sexshop in SP that I had a wee bit of fun in... "Little hell" also known as Cine Paris República, Av. Ipiranga, 808 - República, São Paulo I was at Lagoa in SP last September, and every night I did go there and every night I was wowwed by the quality and quantity of talent there. I would succumb to the charms and allure of one stud, spend some alone time with them, only to come out of our room and be confronted with at least 2 or 3 more even hotter guys whom I'd wind up getting intimate with after a short restorative stop at the sauna bar. I was quite impressed with Lagoa. I had been to SP only once before in 2015, only went to Fragata then, and was seriously underwhelmed by Fragata facilities and its talent on offer. eh... but maybe it's just me; I've also been advised that the Lagoa Sauna I visited in September 2019 is no longer operating at that location... is that true? Well, I hope that the new place retains the talented wonders I met then. The old Lagoa website (http://www.thermaslagoa.com.br/) appears to announce the new location as of November 22 2019. as for Rio: Clube 117 is my favorite, always a good variety of guys and great clean facilities with friendly staff at the bars and front desk always. Pointe 202 was much better this last visit in August/September than my previous experience in 2011-2015 (No Brasil for me 2016-2018, darn it). Pointe 202's guys available were much better quality than I'd seen before there, and their go-go boy floor shows always entertaining, too. I just wish 202 had showers in each room as 117 does. Also, some of those rental rooms at 202 are like sweatboxes with little ventilation, really making the lack of in-room shower frustrating Club Lyon had opened about a month or so before I got there, and when we walked there from the Glorai Metro subway, we got there about 6pm only to find only one single rentboy in the place and he was a pale wisp of a guy bent over his phone screen. We left immediately and never returned Side note about Sao Paulo: a friend had mentioned he had been told about a sleazy hole in the wall kind of sexshop in the Republica area where lots of cheap street trade guys could be found incredibly cheap... "Little hell" it was nicknamed. Cost: R$8.60 I see from Google Maps now that the gloryhole sexshop is contained in a place called Cine Paris República, Av. Ipiranga, 808 - República, São Paulo - SP, 01036-000, Brazil I was able to talk an online rentboy with whom I had spent time in my hotel, to have him guide me there. It was just a little ways from the Republica Metro station, past corner of Avenida Ipiranga and R. Barão de Itapetininga, close to Av Sao Joao. It was definitely lively, sleazy fun, but watch your wallet, nowhere to clean up really either so bring some wipes with you!
  10. I went to the Chicago Brazilian Consulate office last week to get a CPF (basically, a Brazilian version of USA Social Security numbers). i first tried filling out the form online at http://chicago.itamaraty.gov.br/en-us/brazilian_tax_id_number-_cpf.xml but there’s fields on the form that are inscrutable and so I just printed out the form blank, brought that and my passport and birth certificate to the consulate. The employees were very polite and helpful, and they helped me correctly complete the form, processed it, and handed me a document with my new lifelong CPF on it, all in about an half hour’s time. I just walked in without an appointment, and there was absolutely no fee for this cpf. Very impressed by how easily this was accomplished. The CPF number will come in handy for various Brazilian websites and for some services like bike rentals there, etc i strongly encourage visitors to Brazil to visit the local Brazilian consulate office before going to Brazil to receive a CPF. Just be sure to make copies of the document you receive with your CPF number because it will be your one and only CPF number ever issued
