  1. Actually it doesn't mean exactly that. "You may fuck them when you want", means you have the right to fuck them when you want. Reader correctly points out that's not necessarily true. You may be able to fuck them when you want, then again you may not, and some you may never be able to fuck at all!
  2. Amoxicillin is the cheapest/weakest antibiotic. If no effect you need to step up to Augmentin aka Co-Amoxiclav. Realistically any doctor at any hospital will make this step up but good to actually have an examination in case there are other issues.
  3. On the other hand the mosquitoes there, who seem to be on steroids, are very fond of farangs(blood)
  4. Sharing this link as it was updated last month and seems to provide interesting information, though our learned members may be able to advise on it's accuracy. https://www.klook.com/en-GB/blog/taipei_gay_bar/
  5. 1. Why do you think it is "mostly muslim" area? Not my experience nor statistically correct. 2. Even if it was a " mostly muslim" area that wouldn't necessarily make it less gay tolerant. I remember visiting a gay showbar on Phi Phi. Now that is a mostly muslim place. Just need to accept that not everywhere in Thailand is Pattaya, thankfully. Otherwise as everywhere in the world the provinces are more conservative than the capital. Has nothing to do with religion.
  6. Have you been to any of these places before? You state that you have decided to live in Songkhla but don't mention whether you have ever been there before. You want to be near friends in Hatyai and Penang, but don't want to live in either of these places, so I wonder why? Don't get me wrong Songklha is a pleasant enough place(although I haven't been there for seven or eight years) but it seems a bit dramatic to say that you are going to live in a place of which you appear to have little knowledge. Regarding meeting local guys for sex it's Thailand so there are bound to be opportunities, even if in the absence of gay bars/gay massage venues. Actually I wouldn't be put off living in Penang either. Georgetown is great, I had an ex from there, and there are venues that advertise as gay friendly. Historically it's the most liberal part of Malaysia(it helps being an island) and hasn't been too impacted by whatever the latest edict is from KL. Friends have reported great cruising on the beaches with westerners being much sought after.
  7. But there are others who are "gay man" who are gay but are also tops. But then there is also "straight man" who prefers to bottom. It's quite simple when you get the hang of it.
  8. Sounds like advice from someone who has never had a boyfriend.....
  9. Unless my eyes are failing me there only seem to be two with numbers so only preferring one over the other! Not a complete endorsement.
  10. Nicely and accurately put! Who is afraid of a do-gooder with our resources?
  11. Day 1 started as an interesting and enjoyable trip report, thank you, but as the days go by the reports are getting even better, thank you even more. Loved Day Five and can't wait for Day Six. I always try and leave at least an hour between food consumption and swimming or massage or the other. I think it was ingrained in me as a child that you could get cramp swimming too soon after food.
  12. The Airport Limo is twice the price to Silom area, and my favoured choice. The kiosks where you pay are brisk and efficient and right in airport concourse. They take your bags straight to the cars which are waiting just outside the terminal. Comfortable car after a long flight.
  13. Anyone for a PPE supply contract in the UK? On no sorry, you have to be a friend of government to join the Fast Track lane.......... https://www.transparency.org.uk/track-and-trace-uk-PPE-procurement-corruption-risk-VIP-lane
  14. If the Vietnamese are happy to go forward on this basis they don’t need advice from someone who supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine!
  15. For Bangkok have a look at Bandara Suites serviced apartments in Saladaeng. Close to gay area, good value and peaceful
  16. I would note that a significant number of the recent 5 star reviews are are "One Contribution" posters.......
  17. That's because however much you give them, or pay them for their services, you will always have significantly more assets than they do.
  18. Be fair. It's taken him 25 years of living in Thailand to reach that level of misinformation and bigotry. He's been working really hard to achieve this standard!
  19. Thanks for all the advice on hotels, much appreciated. Sounds like the Westgate will suit me well!
  20. Thanks Peter, all very helpful, appreciated. I just enjoy being either in or a short walk from gay areas when I go to an infrequently visited city. It's 30 years ago that I was last in Taipei, so I think that counts as infrequent. So when in Paris stay in Marais etc So I guess based on your shared experience and my research I'm looking at something like a three star in Ximending
  21. Planning a trip to Taipei after reading all the good reports. Where do you guys stay when you are there? Thinking that it might be good for evening entertainment to to be in Ximending area. When I am in Bangkok I spoil myself by staying at the Meridien.
  22. Oh right, and Pattaya has neither pollution nor traffic problems.........
